I think my tightness/irritation was sinuses. I took sinus medicine the past 2 days in addition to my allergy meds and I am way better. I had my murder mystery dinner last night and it was fun. I leave in a few hours for Canada and so I won't post for a week or so. I can't believe they wouldn't give you a fill Melissa! Did you tell her that you haven't been losing? Oh well, I am living proof that you don't want to be too tight. At least everything looked good! Have a great week all!

How was the fill Melissa? I am doing fine, but I think my esophagus is irritated again. I haven't PB'd, so I don't know why, but it is sore. I'm thinking I can't do spicy foods, orange juice, coffee, etc. anymore. Grrrr Hypnosis is ok, but I don't feel a big change. I do feel more relaxed though. I hope everyone is doing great and din't overdo it at the celebrations for the 4th!

    Vegas any one?

I just got back from Vegas with some bandsters from LBT to celebrate our 1 year bandiversaries. It was great. I would definitely go again and hiking sounds fun! I hope you get some more responses!
  5. Bad things happen in the US and in Mexico. I drove myself to TJ for my surgery, parked my car on the street overnight and had no problems. I also drive myself to get fills(alone). I'm not saying there aren't horror stories out there, but it isn't like going to TJ is going to a back alley chop-shop either. I used Dr.Ortiz and although I've experienced a slip, I would still recommend The Obesity Control Center. Everyone speaks English and the clinic is very clean. I had one overnight nurse who didn't speak English well, but we managed with my limited Spanish and her limited English. Feel free to PM me with any questions. Best of luck with your decision!

bfy- Be patient! You were just banded yesterday! Try to walk around and sit up as much as possible to help the gas dissapate. Try Gas-X strips. They never worked for me, but many people swear by them. Your doctor should have advised you regarding pain management, but Liquid Tylenol is generally a safe choice. Welcome to bandland and hold on for the ride of your life!

I'm so sorry that your scale isn't moving Poodles! Have you measured yourself? Maybe you will see something there, if not on the scale. If you decide to go for bypass, we will all be here for you. Your health is the #1 priority! Does your doctor have any insight? Momma-you look great! You too Beachee, Leece and pinchemayko!

    Need your help

What kind of band do you have? The 10cc band will require more fills to get proper restriction from what I hear. Find something to do in the evenings to keep your mind off food. Exercise, knit, call someone, journal...whatever it is that helps you. If you absolutely must eat cereal, make sure you use nonfat, 1% or lowfat milk with a HEALTHY low-sugar/calorie cereal like Kashi. I agree with Julie as well that more protein earlier in the day may help fend off physical hunger. Mental hunger is a whole other beast! It is possible that you have lost some fill. Most doctors take out all of the saline and then put it back in to make sure you don't have a leak. Make sure your doctor does this. Stretching your pouch can happen if you consistently overeat, so measure your food to prevent this. Hang in there!
  9. I never told anyone at work, but I only eat in the lunchroom on occasion, so it isn't so obvious. At first it will be hard, but once you are on solids, you can pretty much eat the same, just less. Best of luck to you.

Sending positive thoughts to Regina today! I hope all goes well!
  11. June 29 is the date I was banded 1 year ago! I wish you the best of health! I was on an emotional rollercoaster before the surgery, excited to scared to stressed and impatient. You may not feel nervous because you know this is the best decision for you. Everyone here will be happy to answer your questions.

The password is Junebies-try that. The Jubilee comment was a JOKE Leece! It was in reference to the showgirl photo. Jubilee is a showgirl show at Bally's where we stayed.

    One Year Today

Congrats on your bandiversary! Mine is in a few days! Your weight loss is awesome. I think you know what to do, you just need to DO it! Stop eating/drinking things that don't help you get to your goal, kick up or mix up your exercise routine and read/post here for support. I recently started hypnosis to kick my butt enough to get to my goal weight. Best of health to you!

Back from Vegas. Had a blast! Lucymann never showed. We are all hoping she is ok wherever she is. Good luck on Friday Regina! Keep up the good work Leece! Gotta unpack, do laundry, read my mail, etc. Then I'll need a LONG nap to recover...............

We never heard from Lucymann. She already sent money to Barb for the Celine Dion tickets, so we are hoping she is ok. I think she was having vericose vein surgery last month. Hopefully, she just forgot and is doing great. I am off to the airport!

Thanks Lisa! Barb- The hypnotist gives you CDs to take home as well, so I think even if it wears off after some time, you can play the CDs at home for a boost. It's worth a shot to get these last pounds off. Does everyone else have to log in every time they visit LBT? I do! Even if I say "Remember Me". I never had to do that in the past. I know they are trying to improve the site, but all the changes are frustrating!

Well, the fill was fine as far as the doc said the band and pouch looked good. He gave me .6cc and I am still on liquids, so I haven't had a chance to "test" the fill. It doesn't feel tight at all, so I am hopeful. How many pictures are we bringing Barb? Everyone send positive vibes to Lucymann, wherever she is! I went for a free consultation with the hypnotist yesterday! I may do it!
