  3. Can anyone tell me any of their experiences with Dr. Natera? My friend is going to Mexico and considering this physician and the hospital he is associated with. THANKS!

    new need reassurance!!!

Hippmom, Dr. Keilin & Dr. Hekier did my surgery. You will find that on your first appt you will meet the lap band coordinator, Betty-May. She knows EVERYTHING there is to know about the lapband and about finances. She will become your best friend. Feel free to ask her any questions. I know I did & she never got tired of answering. She really understands and is there to help you.

    7 1/2 hrs until I'm Banded!!!!!

I've been home since before noon. Things went great. I had surgery at 8:15 and by 9:30 I was walking laps around the hospital! I feel great! I have only minor soreness and a scant amount of bleeding from the sites. I had a wonderful nap and now I am planning for the rest of my life. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes!

    Need help-last straw

I know Texarkana is out of your way, but my surgeon accepted my insurance. I only had to pay my deductible up front. It is something to think about as far as money goes. Her name is Dr. Rachael Keilin in Texarkana, TX. Her husband also does Lap Band Dr. Ron Hekier. You could have surgery here and have fills/ check ups in your area. This is an option if you cannot find a surgeon that will accept your insurance. GOOD LUCK!!!!
  7. :clap2: Tomorrow is the day I go under the knife! I'm scared and excited. Any tips on how to sleep tonight and any last minute advise on the surgery? I could sure use any tips anyone has. Please keep me in your prayers. I'll catch up as soon as I'm home.

OH MY GOSH! This Friday! 6/9/06

I'm so glad your surgery went well. I'm scheduled for 06-14-06 and I am excited and nervous all at the same time. I will keep you in my prayers and I wish you the best with your band!
  9. I'm making notes. Walk, walk, walk. No heavy lifting. This forum is such a blessing. I do not know a single soul personally that has been banded so every response on here is greatly appreciated. I've got 11 more days until surgery. It seems like it is taking forever and this nasty slimfast diet doesn't help the time fly. I've found sucking ice chips battles hunger, and I've read enough books lately that my eyes hurt. I'm rooting for you all in your endeavor for a healtier life. Thanks for your input!!!!!
  10. Thank you all for your replys. I feel much better knowing about your experiences. I'm sooooo excited!!!!!
  11. Hello everyone! I've been reading everything for months but have just now become an active "poster" for this forum. Reading all the information on this site helped in my decision to be banded. What is the average time taken off after your band surgery? I am only taking two weeks off from work. I hope it's enough. Also, this slimfast diet I'm on is uuuhhhhhgggg!!! I'm hanging in there but does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks! :biggrin1: NowItsPlanB Scheduled for 06/14/06
