Hal, I wish you the best with your surgery.........My surgery is in a week and I am very nervous.. As a woman in her mid 50's, I am having similar thoughts this week about "last suppers". I am not that concerned about my attraction to others, because my husband loves me the way I am and I love him very much. I don't love me though. I feel horrible all of the time and I want to feel better. I was always thin and athletic until about 20 years ago. I am not really nervous about the surgery, but about giving up my addictions such as diet pepsi and a few other things. -

I have several friends who have had this surgery and they are doing great! I have been waiting to do this for five years, and finally made the move to go forward with it.
My surgery is in a week and would like to hear from you after your surgery. I am praying for your speedy recovery. I sound just like you......very nervous and excited all in one! I have some very supportive friends, but my uphill battles are making me wonder if I have made the right choice. First of all, I got denied by my insurance but was finally approved. Then I had a weird experience at the hospital this week. When I went for pre-testing, the admitting lady tried to talk me out of the surgery! Then I recieved a call today that my blood was misplaced and I have to go have it drawn again. Maybe I am not supposed to have this surgery. ???
