Marchies in Nov. (The Month of The Turkey)
OH Juli replied to Jeni 85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Jeni there's the bodybugg thread on here that can tell you how it works better than I can. BODYBUGG :: HOW IT WORKS http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f81/bodybugg-users-report-here-36232/#post488429 I know it keeps me motivated and makes me more accountable. -
I've got to thinking about myself as one who has a chronic illness, morbid obesity, and I need to follow models out there of how others deal with their chronic illnesses. It wasn't as depressing as it sounds when I had that aha moment, it actually gives me comfort that I'll be able to function normally but with some constraints, which is much better than being out of control. just sayin'

I'm going to be a brat....please do forgive me... Are you looking for an excuse to slow down and take a break and putting it on your husband? This occurs to me because I workout with a couple at work, and he hurt his ankle this weekend, so she was like Woo-Hoo, I have an excuse not to go. Just a thought. And if you want to slow down and take a break that's all well and good, but don't put that on your husband's ego. This journey has ebbs and flows. You may now throw rotten eggs at me.

Hi everyone. Glad to see new names. I post a lot, and I'm 8 months out. If I can help with questions or encouragement let me know. Juli -
That would be called a PB or a productive burp. It's that food saying, "I'm coming up and out right now, and you can't stop me." Now you know

Sc2va, just stick to your eating better and exercising more guns. Tell them you are counting calories and KNOW that stuff has way too many calories to be pigging out. Really, I think the more you bring it to others attention the more they will comment. Just get your plate of food, eat what you want and push stuff around, play with your food. If it's a full week be sure to have your staples with you. If it's yogurt for Breakfast bring it with you...you know what I mean? You'll be fine. -
I want an ass that looks like that, and the shorts...

Wow sorry to hear about your nephew and your family's struggle. That's horrible. -
This would be okay too.

$25 is my limit, but if who ever has me wants to spend more I'll send you a very nice thank you card! No, really, $25 is it. I'll be happy with bike related stuff, tools for my bag, a new flashing light, books on biking, cooking light magazine, sassy girlly stuff...you know compacts and girlly shit with sassy stuff written on it. Note cards are always fun too. A CD with a good playlist of workout tunes. Those are my thoughts right now.

BG, Are you using a new lotion? Try one more new battery and see if you replaced the last one with a defective one. And horror of horrors, the bugg might be broken!

Boo Boo, This is new territory for many of us, huh? I'd go to a good friend who's a looker (what a term!) and get her opinion. And ask her for host of retorts for when shit happens again. Those women know how to deflect this stuff much better than women who matured over weight. As for the professor, you could say if it happens again, "You're not being inappropriate again, are you?" It would put him on the defensive....as for now, do write it down and save the complaints for later if he goes further. yuck.

I assumed that restriction would be the key, finding that sweet spot and the pounds would melt right off. I have okay restriction and it works when I eat meat first stay away from soft foods, but the same mechanism in my head that lead me to be 300+ pounds allows me to eat more soft foods than I should. The congnative and behavorial parts that I contribute to this weight loss process are larger than I assumed they would be when I started. I thought getting the band would be like "set it and forget it!" It so is not like that!

Marchies in Nov. (The Month of The Turkey)
OH Juli replied to Jeni 85's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I love my body bugg. It has me motivated all over again. It's like it's April, one month after surgery, not 8 months later. I'm moving more and really aware of what I'm eating. I'll have to check out that book. Juli -

Mrs H I know I was saying this thread is like a ghost town... I'm glad my words had some impact for you. Woo Hoo! I just want everyone to look down at my ticker. I'm in 3 pounds away from -100! And that's since January first of this year. I'm so starting to chase numbers. I really want to take off those 3 this week! Then the goal is to get under 200 by New Year's day. I find it hard to believe just how much my life has changed. I've got so much to be thankful for this year. Thanksgiving will be filled with all the traditional foods and family, but I'm going to say a prayer of thanks for being able to be in control and healthier than I've been in my entire adult life. I love my band. And thanks you few who still come here to the Marchies thread who are sharing our travels with the band together. I appreciate you all. Juli -

I go to the straight forums and haven't been kicked out of those for being queer. I think we can do the same for the straight people who come here. Welcome. -
D Let me know if you want a kick in the ass. I'll post some of the stuff I put on the Marchies' board. People asked for ass kickings so I gave it to 'um. It a rather odd thread to be part of, this is home for me, the bycyling thread, but they were my first group on LBT so my peeps as well. It got to where people where crying so much about struggling that I was afraid to post my successes...I know other monthly groups have some good gelling, if it weren't for you all here I'd be jealous of them! Ha.

1. We absorb our calories. To lose weight the idea is to have a deficit between how many you eat and how many you burn. Excersice burns calories. Bodies are healthier if you exercise them. 2. How much do you want to eat? How quickly do you want to lose? What's your objective? You adjust your exercise as part of that equation. An hour a day most days isn't unreasonable. 3. My exercise program has changed as my abilities have grown and boredom set in. I see me continuing exercising at the same level when I get to maintenannce and increasing the calories. HTH

Thanks for all the props on the weight loss this week. I tell you the bodybugg has me recommitted to the process. I'm amazed. I'm going to work really hard to lose 3 pounds this week. Being that close to -100 is crazy. Especially to have done it (I'm counting my chickens before they are hatched but) in less than a year will be really cool! I feel that if I keep my deficit at 1500 a day I should be able to do it! Thanks again.

TBS, I as a matter of fact, like the butch look on the girls I date. Personally, I find looking too sporty when not being sporty doesn't suit me. I'm a girlly lesbian. Title Nine and Horny Toad are probably too casual for work any way. I'm still plus size but I know I'll be challenged finding fiting, not sleezy clothing when I get smaller. As it is now, I tried on a sweater (2x) at Target and it was skin tight. Like what fat bitch needs to be showing her back fat rolls?! I guess it's cool for young chubby women who want to look stylish. Pushing 40 though, it's just not for me. Really finding pants that fit my odd shaped body is a stuggle. With the belly that needs to be surgically removed but the rest of me getting smaller I'm finding that I'm getting more and more picky. Back at size 30 I was happy to find something that covered me. Now I actually want clothes that feel good too? WTF. J.

ZZ I got my PM and my SS.

BG-you are such a bad bad girl. I'm glad you had a good time. I hit the wine pretty hard yesterday too. I can't say I was hit on by strange men, but I did have a good time. TBS-I hate spending money on clothes but what's a girl to do? We can't work naked. HP-How you doin with all the OT?
