Just Ran My First 1/2 Marathon.

That's amazing!!!!!!!!!!! It's on my list for 08! You're my hero.
  2. It's my body and my God. God can decide where if I go to hell or heaven. In the mean time don't tell me what I may or may not do.

    Hubby lost job & insurance... :( :(

that's a bummer. Look for the silver lining if you can. Maybe he'll like the new job better? Sorry.
  4. This could get depressing. I had my PCP tell me that she had a personal bias against heavy people and smokers. Awe shucks, that's for owning that, but gee whiz, that really doesn't instill a great amount of trust in you. Mind you she's all grins and rah rahing my weight loss, when she really wasn't all the keen on me having the surgery initially. Yeah, and who's the idiot in this picture? She's still my doc.

    Marchies in the New Year

I just love you guys. So Gwen about the 100 pound marker. I'll tell you, I was really psyched to get there. Not scared, not nervous. But now I'm losing so slowly I wonder if I'm resting on the, "I've lost 100 pounds" laurel. Which isn't going to get me to goal. The biggest shift in my thinking, when I'm being positive, is that I'm not really counting what I've lost but of what I have left. Like I've already beat down 60%, I can knock off the other 40. I'm pretty good at meting out tasks to meet goals and so forth. So breaking things down like that gives me comfort. You know, my reach goal is to see 190 by my surgery anniversary. Which is pretty rigorous. It's 2.57 pounds a week between now and then. I'm lucky to see one a week now. Maybe I'll get inspired to knock my calories down to 800-900 a day...it's the only way it will happen...

Short of telling you to google interviewing tips here goes. Situational interviewing is where you’re asked to tell stories about your past experience. Like, “Tell me about a time you disagreed with your supervisor and how was it resolved.” Or what is your strength/weakness. What’s most important IMHO is that you turn your weaknesses into strengths and strengths into ways to enhance the organization. Like for me, I’d answer the weakness question: A weakness of mine is that I’m quick to react so I sometimes don’t consider all the possible outcomes of my actions. I’ve learned to either say, “Let me think about that before giving an answer” or more recently I’ve identified a co-worker who is opposite of me, nearly frustrating in her ability to consider all possibilities before being conclusive, so I go to her with my situation and get her take. I take her strength and put it with my weakness and come up with a better solution than if I had shot immediately from the hip. The upside of my quickness to respond is that I do typically come up with a good short term solution. And I fully expect that after the crisis is over a team will probably reexamining the situation for a better long term solution. So BG, take all your faults –both of them- and look for an upside and how that will benefit the company if they were to hire you. Also, couch your language as best you can about how you would contribute to them, not how appealing working there would be for you. Like don’t say, “I went to school specifically to work with this population. Being at XYZ would be a dream come true.” Say, “I did some extensive (and do it) research on XYZ and am thrilled at how many areas my skills and knowledge specifically feed into how you help the population. Those being 1, 2 and 3.” Want more? I’ll talk to you about stuff if you want to call me. I sent this to BG's email but I thought maybe B might be able to add more. You know he's Ivy League as opposed to my tiny business college.

    Body Image?

Sigh I denied I was as big as I was. How else can you account for being super morbidly obese? I think I'm bigger than I am now which is the opposite thing. I do look at myself in the mirror more and with clothing on I think I look okay. But nakkit I can't stand the way my skin hangs. There is PS in my future. But before a full bodied 310 woman would walk around nude with more confidence than my 207 hanging skinned does. I just told my SO it's sex with the lights off until I get to goal and get the skin taken care of. And that's just not my typical attitude. Weird stuff going on in my head for certain. I just assume it will pass eventually. Good Luck.

    Exercise Clothes

enell is a great brand and titlenine has some fantastic bras, depending on what size you are at. I found Target and Walmart run small and have very few 2X. I struggled when I was bigger than that, but Juonia, and Avenue came through in a pinch. Keep up the good work!

"Now pissing excellence from beatuiful sububan Detroit is non other than LBT's own BabyGirl. Not to be missed is a special appearance by Left Butt formerly from the super huge duo of "Was a Big Girl's Ass" with her twin Right Butt. Left Butt takes up less room than she did in past, she is firmer and tighter but still the hottest thing in town... Please give it up....."

I'll see if Zoe wants to bring her bellydance outfit. No shit, the ex's GF is a bellydancer in a troop and Zoe's been a hanger on...just in love with the sparkles and scarves. Well someone made her a complete outfit with jingling belt and everything...Zoe LOVES makeup. Too cute. We tried tap and ballet and she just wasn't interested. No my kid wants to be a belly dancer/life guard. It sounds promissing, like you're going to meet us at the pool  That's happiness making.

You know, that would be grand if she does. Zoe needs someone to show her the way to regular little girlness. We have cousins but they are boys or much older. Her little friends are either clueless like her or non-traditional vegetarian political 9 year olds. No kidding.

I'm so out of it... I'm just not a pop music listener...However while on the bus in Vegas some girl was asking her mom, "Who is Toni Braxton and why is her picture EVERYWHERE? She's no Hannah Montana! Hannah is a bigger star." Mind you at this point most everyone is a bigger star than Toni B. but it was pretty funny.

You are just a trend setter you hearty heart girl. I heart how we post silly little messages. I wonder how many people have been turned off the bycyling page by it. But I don't wonder about it much.
  16. Rain My DD is 6. It's a chore at times but the best job in the world really! What you might want to do is take a "time out" for yourself after you yell/threaten/say something mean. My daughter gets put in a big chair with no TV and no toys. I go and put myself in the same chair and tell her that Momma needs a time out. It's not only a way to apologize, it also teaches there are consiquences and most importantly you tell them you need to be left alone for five minutes (or whatever is your standard...Zoe gets a minute for every year of life. Ahhhh what I'd give for 39 minutes!) It won't keep you from exploding but it might give you a guilt free way to deal with the aftermath.

What to do with your old clothes?

Just an aside, you do know that if you donate your clothing you get a tax deduction. That's what I've been doing, just because I don't have time to ship out clothing. After I offered my sister some items and was told very firmly that she didn't need my used clothing, I thought that was my easiest solution. Now granted that doesn't get me other people's stuff...so it's only a one sided solution. Interesting what someone said about people taking and taking to sell on e-bay. That's terrible! I'm always surprised about how greedy some folks can be.

W and one more thing... If you are taking 41 minutes and I'm taking 40 we are essentially running the same speed. I'll kick your ass if you called me a slow runner. Actually I'd kick anyone's ass if they said anything less than me being phenominal...I mean if you're going to say something, be positive. Right?

ZZ I'll send you those pants. I bought them for running but they are pad less bycyling pants. They are very long and pretty roomy on me. Give me one more month of running in the cold with them and I'll send them your way. I do believe they are XX. I love reading stuff that seems very far fetched. It's one way to make it a reality. We shift slowly, us human people. W- I'll tell you what, that's NOT slow. It's about a 13-14 minute mile and that's respectable. And its RUNNING. Hello, Running is a bitch and hard and you can run for 43 minutes! Like I said before, this time a year ago I'd not have run out of the way of a car kareening toward me. I would have been resigned to getting hit, thinking, "looks like I'm gonna die."

ZZ You can run girl!!! I'm surprised as hell that I can. And WOOT WOOT, I did 3 miles in just under 40 minutes today. I'm working toward a 30 minute mile now!!! Who'd a thunk it? Take it slowly and we'll cheer you on!

    Marchies in the New Year

Gwen, I need to take some time to cook batches of food. What did you make? I tend to make chilis and soups, but after four days of chili I get tired of it. I need new ideas. Dems, Why can't I remember your real name? Let us know what your doc says about the BP. It's hard to winter in Michigan. It gets so cold and yucky outside and it's so freaking beautiful the rest of the year. Try to keep looking forward to spring.

Body Bugg users Are you still using it? I took it off for the weekend in Vegas and didn't miss it. I'm thinking about retiring it, but don't know. I know I'll want to measure my calorie burns when I get to biking again, but now I've got a good understanding of what I'm doing...hmmm Thoughts? I've gone back to tracking my calories on fit day too. I just like it better. Though I'm going to take a closer look at Sparkpeople. Apex is just a bitch for food tracking. Mamma don't like.

Well, if finances are an issue leave the boys at home and come for the day with just Korrine. It'd only be $25 for you. The vegan thing is amazing. I've known many a vegan and they look like runners...very thin. You get all the props in the world. It's not my cup o' tea, but I do recognize the benefits. Rock on.
