Thanks for the link! I really enjoyed reading that!

Hi Debbie, I work at the Ohio School for the Deaf as the cafeteria manager. We share a huge piece of property with the Ohio State School for the Blind and we are starting to share services. Anyway, I'm hearing and sighted but curious where you went to school and if you were at a School for the Blind how you feel about it. Thanks for sharing! Juli

How funny. I was stuck doing work as well. For pity's sake. Aren't we a odd bunch?!

You won't have to give them up. You will need to take a break to recover from your surgery. Most surgeons want you to allow your core to heal for 6 weeks. You might herniate your incisions. There is a way more active bicycling thread on here. It's "Bycyling" or some such poorly spelled thing. There's lots of chatter on there but we are mostly road bikers. Check it out.

You did the test! Isn't it interesting? It's a cycling awearness clip.

Watching what I eat is getting harder for me
OH Juli replied to blj5362's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
bjr That is a true statement. However if one isn't vigilant one can gain weight with the band by eating around it. You do that by eating high calorie foods often. Even in small quantities the numbers can add up quickly. It's that vigilance that gets tiresome after a while. Can someone eat as much as before, probably not. Can someone continue destructive behaviors after getting the band, absolutely...Being mindful is the key. How relax or to what extent one must be mindful is the crux of it. -

Well since you opened the door, the few I have on my wall behind my computer screen are: Winning is never accidental. To win consistenetly you must have a clear plan and intense motivation. Lou Holtz Obstacle are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal. Henry Ford The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth. Anon I am not interested in the past. I am interested in the future, for that is where I expect to spend the rest of my life. CF Kettering Give me a few more of yours. Oh, shoot I'm going to start a new thread with this... -
DOTHETEST Check this out. Pass it along to others.

HP Awe, they are so cute!!!!

That is absolutely doable! Don't get discouraged if the scale doesn't move right away. It will! Are you eating lean Protein? I got into the hamburger habit, because it goes down easily, but it's not lean... Woot Woot Year Number Two with the band! I went to the Marchies 08 thread to give a little shout out. It's amazing that we were living thier lives just a year ago. It's some powerful reading if you need to get motivated go and read. Wow.

Awe shucks. I just saw 199 this morning, so you didn't miss a thing. I nearly called BG at 7am to tell her, because I know she's awake then, but I refrained and sent her an email later. I certainly don't expect people to just notice what's going on in my ticker. But thanks. Really, I went digging for old photos...and 8 years ago I weighed 338, maybe more. I didn't even want to look at the photos. So yeah, when I think about going from a size 32 pants (not waist) to a size 16, it's simply amazing! And to be reenergized about getting to goal is fantastic too!

Thanks! It's pretty rockin! I have to admit I'm happy. Very happy in deed! 199.0 ONE NINE NINE POINT ZERO. XO you all.

Mary Don't worry about eating out with other people. Most people don't care what or how you eat. I didn't have CIGNA but I did have to do a huge process for my insurance. Just dig your heels in and jump through the hoops. It is so worth the effort. Welcome! -

To get my motivation back I have a serious heart to heart with myself. I read motivational quotes as dorky as that seems sometimes they really work. Best recent one: "Knowing what to do and not doing it doesn't get you very far." J. Pfeffer. Also, I review what behaviors I was doing when I was seeing success. I look at old food journals to see what I was eating and I start eating those foods again. I appreciate shortgal's advice about detoxing from carbs. I do that too, albeit in a different way, but I do get the junk out of my system. -
Hi March 2008 Bandsters! I was banded a year ago and wanted to shout out "HI" to you all. Sometimes a few of you drop into our forum to get a glimps of what life will be like a year from now. It gave me the idea to come here and share. Hope you don't mind. For the most part it is fantastic! I'm not going to sugar coat everything and say it's always easy because there are times when it certainly is far from easy. But never have I've lost weight like this and I know deep in my heart I'm going to see my goal weight. Some of the hardest times are shortly after surgery, when you don't have restriction or when your body hurts from being cut and poke around in. But it gets better. You'll be surprised at the changes and more importantly how the changes continue. Just yesterday I got up on chair to change a light bulb, I felt confident and balanced and it was easy! An odd NSV, but one none the less. They keep happening, those NSVs. I'm so excited for you all and your new journey! It is thrilling! Congratulations!

I'm with you on trying to reinvigorate yourself. I took a break, I'm trying to get back on the stick. My personal goal is three days. Three days of following all the rules. Taking my Vitamins, drinking my Water, tracking my food. I can do anything for three days!!! But I needed my break. Perhaps you need one too. Just before you go all out of control pick an end time. Like I'll relax with the bandster way of life until April first. Then pick it back up again at that point. You are not alone. Good luck. -
Bike Nashbar.com - GORE BIKE WEAR women's Cortina II Short My GF has these and a few other pairs and claims that the GOREs are the best of the bunch. I only have cheap Performance shorts from last year and a new pair of Cannondale shorts. I like the cannondale, but I want to get some GOREs now.

I tried to install yahoo IM again and it's all messed up as usual. I wish I weren't so ignernt. See what only children do? Actually, that's going to be a killer scrap page! Off to bath and bed!
-
no yahoo at home. It just always gets messed up. I'll figure it out again one day. I do have it on at work. I know not a lot of good right now. It's fun to be 6. My kiddo just had a doggy tea party.

is the tanning salon open? Maybe some personal spending can ease your rainy weather/icky blues. I did do well with my food today, BTW. I'm under 1000 kcals, and I've pushed simple carbs aside. I want them badly though. God do I want them. I figure three days of craving I'll be back to reasonable. Hopefully. That past tense like I'm not eating anymore today is because if I do I'll vomit in my sleep. Always a good time...

You've been quiet is all. I've got nothing in particular to discuss...just missing ya.
