The before and after pictures, I could have done without...why did I hit the link???? Rode 25 miles today. The temp was about 50 with some serious wind. Yeah, though!!!

JANINE!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so glad you're lurking! You're one of us! I'm pleased to see you are pursuing getting rebanded. I think your doctor is wise to let you heal longer before rebanding you. Caution is a good thing. Much love, Juli

That's funny! I respond to every variation of Juli/Julianna but Jules. That's my Susan. Jay, Juicy (one smart ass calls me that, but I call her Naners), Jewel, Ju-Ju, I'll accept. But not Jules. My sister is Suzanna and went by Zsa-Zsa, growing up. We're Hungarian and that's the same as Suzi. My other sister is Ilona, and went by Li-Li. I didn't get the cutesie name. I got Jay. My brother got Bee. I resent that, I'm just saying.

Caffiene can irritate the stomach and your hence your band. When I'm tight I don't drink coffee, just because it's like adding fuel to the fire. When I'm not super tight I drink caffiene daily. Two shots of espresso a day makes me a nicer person. One drink in the morning. Mind you it's a 20 ounce drink, but I don't nurse coffee all day. IMHO, this is an area where you can make a deal with yourself. While recovering from surgery or when you're really tight stay away from it, but otherwise, if it impacts the quaility of your life, (it does me) work some in. HTH.

Has anyone ever had a PBing incident at a resturant?
OH Juli replied to thenume's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've posted this before so I'll be brief. I've PB shoulder to shoulder with a stranger on a crowded flight. That was nice. -
I feel you. I'm really Julianna. Two "N's". Don't get me started on my last name! Ugh. So if I met you, you'd be Suzanne? not Suzzie? I don't know that I could adjust at this point in time....

You are now CD! Fantatic! The gears are different from the past but I really like them. I have to say, I just really like my bike. I never thought I'd get emotional about a non living thing, but I am. I've got two rides planned this weekend with my group. I'm hoping we don't get chilled out of them. Should be around 20 miles both days. Oh, TX I ordered aerobars and they came in, I've just not been able to get to the shop to have them put on. I'm hoping do that this week. (I need silver, not black, so it would match.) XO

Hello my people. I didn't even think to put anything but my city and town on my ID. BTW, TX, they make medical ID charms you can add to a charm bracelet. However if you have more than a few issues I don't think they can get all the text on it! I'm not sure what a new rack costs but I'm probably going to be in the market for some too which is uber ironic because I had a breast reduction 5 years ago. But as I get smaller they are simply disappearing. My breasts are now smaller than my girlfriend's. That has never ever happened before in my life, and I've had a few girlfriends, most of whom would be called chesty. NSV? I'd say so. ZZ, You are so funny! I bet you keep people in stitches all the time! BG, The snow, the freaking mother effin' snow! What gives? Apparently is was snowing in Kalamzoo last night. That's just not okay. Ceradad, Cool ride. I have a Giant and love her. Welcome to the Bycyling thread. You will need to get abreveated to a one or two letter name. We have a C, so give us some choices. Happy Friday!

I got the interactive one as well. Too cool.

TX OMFG, I just ordered one of those yesterday and sent the email to BG and HP (because I don't have anyone else's email in my gmail acct.) I got the pink one, how about you???? I think it's important to have something that says I've got a lapband, but I didn't want to wear a medical ID bracelet. Two great minds...........

Not to hyjack the thread, but now that I'm smaller the bat wings are wingier. The lose skin just hangs. My six year old finds nothing more pleasurable than flapping them around when we are cuddling. Also she asked about the stretch marks in that area, and was please to tell me if they went in two directions they would be plaid, not just lines. Bless her heart. I see the loose skin as a sign of all my hard work!

Hi gang, Just thought I'd put a little shout out there too. Niki, Special K, Hippie, I hope you are all feeling great! Mrod-I'm thinking about you! I know Turler is pending. Who else out there has a surgery date? The weather is slowly getting warmer. I'm hoping with being able to get outside I'll be able to get pick up the weight loss pace. It is very slowly coming off now. But it is still trending downward, so I can't complain. Where at Polaris is the fashion show happening? In front of JC Penney's? Isn't that where Santa sets up and they have rotating events? Smiles!

With my daughter we call it growing and not growing food. There's room for not growing food in everyone's life, but growing food is what we should be focusing on. I like your on/off target framing.

another NSV-guess what I did this weekend??

Congrats! You should be proud. That dinner party will be great fun! -
B, No Chi Town???? Oh, I'm crushed! I bet your wife is pleased though not to have you across the country. I was hoping you'd become a mid-westerner like the majority of us here. Stef and Texas still get to have you. Alas. Traveling like that is rough. Might I suggest a skinny latte with sweetener, if you are looking to shave a few calories but still get that caffinated frenzied feeling? It's my drug, er I mean drink, of choice. All my writings about Starbucks has me so into that place it's freakish...my HR class has me delving deeping into a corporation's practices, and since where I work is broken badly, I was sent out to pick a public company. I chose *$, and now know everything their PR department has put out there. I'm pretty certain they're not as fantastic as it all seems, but I'm in love with them as an organization, anyway. XO, Dude. We're thinking of you.

Caparsi, Hi and welcome! You're size on the bike is a non issue. It will hold you. A properly inflated tire will hold you. Promise. As for your tushy, smaller seat equals better. You do need to get used to a bike seat, typically it takes 2 or 3 rides within 10 days for you to break in your butt...If it still hurts after that try a different seat. For your kid there are tag along trailors when they are that small. Get him a helmet too so his noggin is as safe as yours. Please consider exploring cycling further. You might find you'll love it! We all do. Keep talking to us about it, we'll give you lots of encouragement!

Oh, just wait until she hugs you and her arms reach all the way around!!!! When my 6 year old's did that we both jumped up and down. I don't know if she knew why we were jumping when we started but she knew by the time we were done and she now hugs me all the time with squeezes because she can! That's a great A Ha moment. I don't know that I had one, I felt like there were many signs that lead me to lapbanding. I love yours though. Congratulations.

I love idioms. And I swear quite a bit. I love puns and sarcasm! However, I grew up in a house where one parent was German and one was Hungarian and their common language was English. I was forever trying to rationalize idioms for them. My father ranted about the value of a public school education, "Vat da hell are dey teaching you?!" To add to the mix I now work at Deaf school where sign language is beautiful in it's clarity of thought and complexity, but it lacks the circuitous approach much us of like. It's been a challenge to say the least. Or, “ASL, Hard!” At any rate it's fun to see our language and how it impacts us and others. Thanks for sharing this.
