Central Ohio Get Together - April 12, 2008
OH Juli replied to HeatherA's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
To make an informed decision I'd want to know what the fashion show really is? Like whose clothing are we seeing? Who are the models? I want to cheer on my WLS peers, but if it is poorly organized and boring I'd be mad that we switched up. I'd also fear that the out of towners couldn't find the mall or didn't get the message and went to Polaris only not to find us. I'll support the group decison. Juli -
I heart April the best because it's my birthday month. Less than two weeks! If anyone is in central Ohio on the 19th come on over, I'm having a party!
-
Oh come on Spring and beautiful weekend weather! I'm thinking I need to get a babysitter for Sunday so I can get in a few miles. Saturday I'll take DD out for a ride on her bike but I'll run/walk with her. There's a great ride here on Saturday that I just can't make it to because of other plans. IT's cycling season, it's cycling season. I'm so stoked.

Hehehehe Back of SAG wagon...I hear you sister. I really feel like we'll be able to do it. We might be wiped out for the rest of the day, but we'll get it done. Right?!
-
You know, if the morning of you feel like you really can't do it we can opt for the 30 miler.
-
Yuck on the rain. LOL on the driver comment!

BG!!! Awesome! I got out today too! I only fell one time. Yeah, I was trying not to unclip at a light, like I know we'll start moving before I fall over...not so. For those who are counting that is fall number 3. The last one was on Sunday in the parking lot after a 25 mile ride. WTF? I was looking at people while slowing down. guess I was stopped before I knew it I was on the ground. Today's fall is by far the least painful. UGH.

I won't be at the mall before 2pm. I booked my morning. Fooey! I hope there isn't a real conflict. Keep us posted! -
Maybe I should just go tanning... Hehehe, TX, thanks for the sweet words.

Ang, I know you're trying to make a point...I get it. I graduated from HS in 1986, I'm going to be 40 in two weeks. But I want to take what you are saying seriously, but also let you know we've been sliding to where we are for well over twenty years. I was terrified walking by myself after at dusk or after dark because already in the 80's girls were programed with that necessary fear. The pervs were out there and as a little girl I was told not to talk to strangers/and run away from cars that stopped to ask me for directions. I think we just talk about them more now than ever. Drugs were bad-ish. Mostly pills, Drinking was extreme and if you were a good girl all you did was screw your boyfriend silly. Herpes was rampent and HIV/AIDs hit my radar as a senior in HS. True Dat about college, but we were told that a high school diploma wasn't going to get us far. It just took a few years for what the old people had to say to really manifest. School violence is frightening today in ways unimaginable. That point you win hands down. I have a 6 year old daughter and if I let myself I can get worried sick about what she will face. I try to see that most people are good and technology is just help, but yeah, the monsters in the closets are much more real and do far greater damage than what I knew as a child. But every generation thinks their music was the best, they struggled the hardest and most importantly they believe that they invented sex. LOL. Hope I didn't offend, I just wanted to chat it up a little.

I wish I could could cut and paste a body like that! Oh, wait I will with plastic surgery... Okay, I'll be cutting away the skin so you can see the buff muscles I've been working on! You know, I swing that way and I actually find her a little intimidating, frankly. I mean she looks like a game of slap and tickle with her would really, really hurt.

Welcome to Ohio and the pervs who will screw a table...sick, sick, sick. ZZ, you've got those killers eyes, and cheekbones! Blah, blah, blah insert cute fat girl comments you've heard a million times here, but you're quickly becoming hottie girl with out mention of fat...You'll be kissing the boys and makin' em cry just as soon as you please. Being the lemming that I am, I've put my pics on here too. BG, I put the one of us at the pool on there, hope you don't mind, if so, holler and I'll take it off. XO.

Husker, Where is DH going in 6 years? Sorry you're feeling poorly. That just stinks. Sorry your son isn't feeling well either. MY DD is only 6 and I shutter at the thought of not knowing where she is and what she is doing.... It will happen sooner than I expect, I know. Get some rest.

New WSJ article on Lap-Bands! Fantastic!
OH Juli replied to LiseSeattle's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Good article thanks for sharing. Mandilou, perhaps it is a little preaching to the choir because we know how fabulous the band is already! LOL. -
You should be fine. Humble pie doesn't taste so good, huh? We are all individuals with our own struggles. Do as your doctor ordered. You'll be alright.

Come on in 1980 the eight track was on the way out. My childhood memories in the car: Having beer cans rolling around underfoot in the back seat floor boards. Parents both smoking with the windows rolled up and me turning green. Four kids tumbling over each other with out a though of a seat belt. Those were good times.

what no april foolery? Zoe was stoked to make all kinds of jokes today. My girl's sense of humor is developing.

There is no worrying about weight gaining while you are in bandster hell. So stay off the scales. This time is for focusing on recovering and learning. Hope everyone is feeling fine! -
Spring Into Action Weight Loss Challenge
OH Juli replied to renewedhope's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm bored with my workout routine. I know I need to shake it up. I'm thinking about joining a gym instead of using the one at work. That way I can do spinning and kickboxing classes. I have access to fantastic cardio/machines/free weights at work, but no classes. I've been doing the work gym regularly since October of 06. Anyway, that's where my thougths are at the moment. -
On the big scheme of things C, what you are doing is much more exciting than a huge bike ride and hanging at the mall. :puke::biggrin:YOU ARE GETTING YOUR BAND!!! :biggrin2: Like I need to tell you! However, it's going to be fun mixing BG with H. I think BG is young enough to say all those things I think but just won't. I'll take notes and share them with you! And girl, I'm not driving through Findlay until Memorial Day weekend. I'm guessing I'll see you at Polaris in May. So no visits. Sorry.

Hi Jazz, Cycling is great exercise. It's a fantastic way to start, go slowly and not for very long, but builds upon your experience quickly. It's a great calorie burner! Nice to have you here.
