I started with 10 minutes a day. I slowly increased my time, I was on the treadmill or the ellypitical. Like LJM just said, the key is to always set goals that stretch you just a little further than what you can do today, and then work to meet those goals. You can work on increasing time, strength, ability, all a little bit at a time. Everyone had to start somewhere. You'll do GREAT!

Glo I'm going to guess you have two seperate things going on. If you are having sinus issues, take some OTC stuff like Claritin. As for your heartburn and indigestion, you need to have your fill level checked. Untreated heartburn is a one way ticket to Slipsville. You may be too tight, regardless of how much you are able to eat. The health of your stomach/band is the priority not loosing as quickly as possible. Take care of yourself and check back.

She has school and I have work during the days...but we'll figure something out. -
Carol, Cute video clip. Does the dog live with you? If so which one? And what's his/her name? Good job to the DH and the pup.
-
B- Dude, your body told you to settle the hell down. Glad you are listening. I'm sure you scared the beegeeses out of your wife. And don't rush the recovery. There is time for that once you are cleared.

It's a potential explaination, not an excuse. And if you want changes you need to figure out the source of the problem, so you can change it or recognize it, not just wave away bad behavior and tell people to stop acting badly. And I agree many people enjoy acting offended and getting hurt...it takes the responsibility off of victim so they need not act appropriately. I'm bored now.

Yeah HP, My weight is up too. I'm trying not to pay the scale any attention.

Hey kids. I'm sorry I won't be at that meeting on the 10th. I'm going to be slogging along with 3000 other people riding my bike from Columbus to Portsmouth. Carol will be doing it with me next year, won't cha? Now mind you if it's raining cats and dogs, you all will see me, because I'm a fair weather cyclist. I could swing something on the 11th, or anyone the 14th or 15th in the PM I could do. That's my spring break week! No school for me! YEAH! -
NSV= non scale victory. A bonus to losing weight that is unrelated to the numbers on the scale. SpecialK, You should be pleased! Good going!

EXTREME tightness after long exercise session?
OH Juli replied to losingjusme's topic in Fitness & Exercise
I did 67 miles yesterday and it was a little over 5 hours. I need to bike faster/smarter. I love it though! I can't imagine running for more than an hour. You get my respect. -
EXTREME tightness after long exercise session?
OH Juli replied to losingjusme's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Oh I always get late to the conversation. Drink while you are running regardless of your thirst. It's hard to catch up when banded. I've seen runners with belts that hold many little bottles of Water. I'm guess that's so they can evenly distribute the weight they are carrying on their bodies. No? Cliff makes Cliff Blocks you might want to chew/suck on. I'm working myself up to a 100 mile bike ride in two weeks. They suggest we stop every 25 to fuel up. BTW, I'm so excited for your run! I don't see distance running on my horizon, no more than a 10K, you are a ROCK STAR in my book! -
We are the 8th line down on the Fitness Thread. Since when have we dropped from the top three? Ugh, my people. Anyway, I came across this amazing website for different vegetable recipes. Sure this is the exercise thread, but this is where I come to share. Alphabet of Vegetables | A Veggie Venture Did I tell you I got sun burned yesterday? April in Ohio is odd. My forearms and the tops of my thighs are red. FUNNY!

I just want to say, today is a day I needed to hear this message. I'm struggling to get my eating aligned with my goals. I've let obstacles get in the way of progress. No more. Salsa's advice was great. Eveyone's encouragement is fantastic. I just pretended like you were talking to me. Hope you don't mind Laci!

Sorry you're hungry C. That stinks. I wrote a book and I got kicked off line at Panera. I'm not writing it again. Essentially, TOSRV scares me to death but I'll do it! Only 100 miles though. All on Saturday.

Okay, I'm going to drive to Detroit and knock on BG's door if she doesn't start posting soon. Girl needs a ass whippin'. For real, Stacy, I hope you are well. Is everything okay????
-
Gwen, Good news on your walk! Don't do too much too soon and get hurt. K- A girl has got to love ebay. Oh happy day, everyone!

Okay now for the upbeat post. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ good for you chica! I love that you are walking/biking and setting goals to do more. That is the key! Awesome Job! I rode 67 miles today. I did 20 yesterday the rain kept us from doing more yesterday. I feel good and proud. My weight is creeping up, but that has everything to do with the crap I put into my mouth. I'm sitting at Panera as I type eating a bowl full of liquid butter and cream that they call tomato soup. I have a giant paper to write and only 5 hours to get it done. I will do it, it's stress. XO J

Brandon, Jesus, Mary and Joseph! What a stink filled experience! The other peeps said all the right things. Add my thoughts to theirs. I'm sorry you're going through some tough times. You know, this just give us Yanks a reason to travel south to see you and TX. Dude you know know you have a group of folks out here who care about you and are pulling for your speedy recovery. XO J

I did it. The key is exercise.

I can't tell if you agree with or not agree with me. The comment about listing out my relationship was a low blow, however.
