I'd say I had a stomach virus or some such thing if I tossed my Cookies at friend's house and it was apparent something was amiss. Sorry you had to deal with that. Ugh.

Hi everyone!!!! How's the cycling going? How about food? I'm getting back on the stick again, like I said I would. I'm going to the gym today and getting me a trainer. Also, I'm trying to find that middle ground where I'm not new at this and I'm not maintaining my wieght, but where I'm developing a life long desire to eat well and be healthy for the sake of my health, not for the sake of losing weight. I figure the weight loss will come naturally with better eating. Lots of stuff has been going on in my head, wanting to get my original mojo back like it used to be when it was new, but it isn't all new, so that expectation is a bit out of wack. So I'm working on new expectations that can get me through the rest of my life, not just through this weight loss journey. Anyway, I'm feeling positive and thought I'd holler out to you all with my rambling thoughts. Anyone doing any good rides soon? I know BG, C and I are meeting in Lansing 6/7. But what esle is going on?????????????????

On the weekend until you see how quickly it gets you moving. -
Yeah the field trip is going to be a blast. Zoe has already started the morning fighting with me.

You poor thing! Try to find some humor in your situation if you can. It is awful. Absolutely. I'm sure it doesn't help now to hear this will make good fodder for stories later. Yuck!

Well I'd prefer the second weekend in October as well...but we'll see. If it happens it happens. If not we will come up with another plan. I'm sure.

So Were U Scared To Bend Over, Exercise, etc.
OH Juli replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
People think I'm cruel to my DD who will wipe out, look at me and I say, "keep on moving." She keeps on moving without tears. I think she's mini you. I have to make her stop when she's bleeding so I can take a peek to make sure she's not really broken. I came to learn that when she cried at the playground she was REALLY hurt, otherwise a bump or a fall just made her angry because it slowed her down. As for excuses not to exercise, I didn't mean any insult. But it is good to know, the bottom line is you'll be okay to move freely about your life doing what you want to do. The only time I felt my port in the way was while I was doing heavy weights on a leg press and my iPod was on the waist band of my pants where it hit my port. I moved the iPod and was good to go. -
Suzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzie Thanks for the pic upload. You're awesome. It would be very much fun indeed if the convention happened in Texas this fall. BTW, I couldn't type "TX" without thinking, " A convention happening in Stefanie." We might not get to bike together but we certainly could get to see each other and visit. I so would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that!

I have been known to sport pig tails as an adult, but no, my hair is not long enough for that at the moment. I have local female news anchor hair, really. Well, not under the helmet, but in general something grown up happened to it recently and it looks DONE often. "Back to you."

Awesome. A coworker of mine says, "You can't smack that smile off your face." Somehow I see you grinning like that. Good job.

I'm late to the party as usual. To fill or not to fill has been answered. Taking action when you recognize bad behavior is the key to success, not eliminating all bad behavior. Because those thoughts/actions are going to happen, it's hard to control. But recognizing that you can see you are making bad decisions then moving to make good ones is THE path to success. Awesome job on the call for the fill.

We are in the same boat. But I was bigger and I am shorter. I call my heighest known weight was 338, I"m 5'2" tall. If you think that my minimum acceptable weight could be 110, I've had three people in my skin at one time. There is just no way that's going back to tone. I pissed and moaned to my therapist about it. I really is the single drawback I've experienced to weight loss. UGH. She said, look at as proof of your success. Look at it as accomplishing what you set out to do...I said kiss my droopy behind.... However a little time passed and I see the wisdom in her words because I'm not going to stop losing weight because of the skin and it's not going away immediately (I've got big PS dreams, but we'll see). So I've worked at making peace with my skin. I can't say I'm thrilled with it, but I'm not disgusted at the sight of me naked. My SO only showers me with compliments too so that helps. So, try to make peace. Nobody is perfect and health and mobility beat out pretty much anything vanity my bring to the picture. Good luck

So Were U Scared To Bend Over, Exercise, etc.
OH Juli replied to speck's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Your fear sounds just a wee bit like an excuse not to exercise. I'm just sayin.... Really you shouldn't do any heavy lifting for 4-6 weeks, but bending and cardio should be just fine. Do a little at a time and keep adding to it. Good luck. -
It's par for the course. Just don't let it ruin your relationships. Talk with your people and tell them that you'll be better in a few weeks. You will be. Promise.
-
I drink wine every couple of weeks and haven't had any issues. Beer might have irritated you. Get some liquids in as best you can and be mindful the next time, try one with out the the other, or avoid the alcohol all together.

Since we dont eat as much how often to go
OH Juli replied to slimmy120's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
If you are going at regular intervals, like every three days, and you are not uncomfortable than I'd not worry about it. My doctor asked me and I said I was about every 48 to 72 hours (2 to 3 days) and he said that was fine. Hope that helps. -
Stefanie, Your yard will be amazing! Wow. I'm going to buy a tiller so I can get my beds together again. It's been a few years since I've done much in the yard, but I'm more fit now than ever so I might not hate it as much! There's talk about a lapband convention in the DFW area this October. I'd go if some of yous guys would go. Thoughts?

Thanks Niki This is Columbus' Bike to Work Week and I'm the coordinator for my agency, so I HAD to get back on my bike and ride the 5 miles into work this morning. I so didn't want to!!! But my tushy is fine. So are my knees and shoulders...It's amazing. I'm so greatful for my band. You know a year ago I couldn't imagine being able to do this.

To be cheerier Glad Flat Stanley made it to Korrine. It was fun. I'm sure you'll be returning the favor at some point. This is Bike to Work Week. The last place I wanted to be this morning was on my bike. It had just stopped raining, so I got on her and came into work. Yeah, I'm a rock star! Since the ride is over, my goal is to get back to the low cal, no simple carb diet. I was propelled for 110 miles by peanut M&Ms and Cliff Blocks. I did have better nutrition too, but I'm saying the junk needs to stop. I'm sorry the pic didn't show up of me at the mural, but I'm also kind of glad because just as soon as I think I'm looking cute, I realize that I'm still very much over weight. 190's is not the same as 130's and a girl needs to get busy...you know they say pictures don't lie, and I didn't look small or even regular in the pic, I looked big. :smile2: Enough of that...How was everyone mother's Mothers' Day?
-
thanks y'all. There's been more news about the cyclist. He was not on a sactioned part of the ride course. He was on a busier highway. Still, it's his right to be on that road. It was raining badly. They think he was going left of some rumble strips on the road... Regardless a life was lost needlessly. I just hope riding was his passion and he has peace now. His poor family has got to be miserable.

Size: Michigan cyclist killed during Ohio bike tour UPDATE: 7:46 PM, Sunday, May 11, 2008 COLUMBUS The State Highway Patrol says a bicyclist taking part in the annual Tour of the Scioto Valley was killed on Route 23 when he was struck from behind by a motorist and thrown from his bicycle. Cyclists in the two-day tour, which takes place each year on Mother's Day weekend, pedal the 105 miles from Columbus to Portsmouth the first day, and return to Columbus on the second day. Fifty-seven-year-old William Crowley of Northville, Mich., was riding his bicycle north in the right lane when he was hit near Piketon at about 7:50 a.m. today. Troopers say he died at the scene. The patrol says the driver of the car was 35-year-old Sara Bender of Lucasville. She was not injured. Piketon is about 60 miles south of Columbus. Information from: The Columbus Dispatch, http://www.dispatch.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This is breaking my heart. :frown::smile2::frown:
