Mary, I hope it all turns out okay for you. You should have great weather for camping. Let us know what you learn on Tuesday.

Really? I had best be what? Missy, you're the one who hasn't seen the inside of a gym in how long???? Running in Keds might be a bad idea however...I will bring the bike up when we do Cedar Point. See if we can decorate it, ride on it, etc. Want to shoot for a DRESS rehersal that weekend? Y'all, you know there's a costume prize for the muddy buddy. We're not telling what we're doing, just know, it's BG and me so it's going to be horribly funny. Focus on horrible.

2008 Muddy Buddy Ride & Run Well if you want to see a fellow Marchie and my favorite LBT pal, Babygrl1234, who had surgery in Feb 07, make complete fools of themselves and are in the Chicago area August 3rd, check out the link, and come watch us!

Whos, I'm not running right now. It was hurting my knee. I'm actually spending more time in the gym than on my bike. It's quicker and grad school takes nearly all my non work time. (And a good chunk of my work time, shhh, don't tell my boss.) But I can walk into the gym kick my own butt for an hour and walk out. Cycling just takes more time than that, getting geared up, putting air in the tires, etc. But what I'm doing in the gym keeps me good for the every other weekend rides that I do. Me and the GF are looking at a 60 mile ride on Sunday. I'm so impressed with your tri-atheletism. And awesome time. You da man. Yeah, I know being well under 200 is stunning to me. I've had three days in a row of 190 pounds. Yes, I weigh daily. I'm going to fall over when I see the 170's. That was my wieght when I was 17. H4H, I can only imagine how freaking awesome a midnight ride would be in your city. Grapes, There's a fair amount of bitching on this thread, but we try to keep it positive as much as possible. Also, we get raw sometimes, so it's not really for the faint of heart, but we are quick to share the love with anyone who rides. So jump in!

Hey Hungry. Wish I were in NYC. 30 mile rides are good.
-
Well where is the Buzz for this, come on bandsters? Who is going to go?
-
I don't feel the band, I do feel my port. I have to push, but I can feel it under my skin. I can't feel it from the inside out though. Being a little scared is healthy. This is a serious decision. Take your time to figure out if it's the right one for you.

Go on and be lazy. The weight will fall off all by itself. How's that for sarcasm? Just give yourself an end date for the laziness. Like I get one more week then I need to get real so I can achieve my goal.

190 is a far cry from nothing. It's a far cry from 313 too, but I'm saying there's still fat to lose.
-
Sorry about your keyboard and screen. But for real, it's not pretty.

I say mine looks like the nose of an elephant seal....it's getting done with the TT. ABSOLUTELY.

Does anyone else get UTI's when they have sex?
OH Juli replied to Oregondaisy's topic in The Gals' Room
mica, you ride? you should check out the cycling thread on here in the fitness forum. We talking riding all the time. Not so much UTI's...but we'd discuss them if they came up. -
EMEP, Howdy! Are you able to ride? You said you work away from home and can't commute. Can you get out on the weekends? Nice to meet you, btw.

Hi LaneJane, Looks like Michigan is going to overtake Texas as the best represented state on the cycling thread! You are newly banded! Congratulations! It's great your body is craving the biking. Your booty should be feeling better shortly. If not maybe you'll want to check on getting a new seat, but give it some time, or get some padded shorts to wear. They make them is sizes that will fit, promise. Welcome!

grapes, I'm in Ohio but get to Michigan about once month. My SO is near Kalamazoo. I'd love to ride in your part of the world. It's so beautiful!!!
-
Tou two are killin' me.

not to be a bummer, but some people lose their hair due to surgery. The anastesia (spelling is horrible), not just the Protein. Good luck to you. The up side if you lose it, it will come back in.

D ARe you all boating this year? How does the price of gas influence that???

We have GOBA-The Great Ohio Bicycle something and a OXO something cross Ohio. There's RAIN, Ride Across Indiana, which is 156 miles in one day, in August, which is pure insanity. Michigan has a tour of the uppper part too, right BG? And no, I'm not riding with her. I perfer to lay on the beach for my week off. Or maybe do a cycling tour of Napa valley. LOL. As for me riding, right now my time is a premium, so I don't typically ride except for on the weekends. If I only have an hour to exercise I find I can work more intensely at that gym with spinning or a class than I can get on the bike. However, I do love to get out on the road. There's a path close to my house but it's super busy with dog walkers, bikers, joggers, it's hard to go fast and against the law, and there are no hills. I live in the middle of the city. So to ride on the road for fun is scary. I prefer to put my bike on the car and get out to the corn growing parts of Ohio. However this summer my cycling group is doing rides early in the morning from the middle of the city out to the berbs on the weekends. That should be fun... Again, I want to be a stay at home full time student. It would be so cool to not be so pressed for time.

Rock on Miss Tia!!! That's great news. We are all pressing on ward toward our goals! Great JOB! You should be proud!

Don't drink anything and don't put another damn thing in your mouth until you feel better. Which might not be until tomorrow; then be kind to your body and do band friendly foods. Were you testing your band? The reality is with banding you can eat like you ate and never lose a pound. A huge part of the equation is your behavior. Please don't say you were hungry...you were eating candy and cake. There are emotional things at play here and you need to get a grip on those if you want to be successful. Do you have a therapist? Are you honest with them? I know this sounds harsh, but you had surgery to lose weight...that's no small thing. The responsibility lies entirely on you at this point if you are going to lose the wieght or not. Be kind to yourself and work on the root cause of why you ate like that...it's not just becuase you could, there is something more to it.

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgendered Bandsters

Because she fell in love with YOU. Not your fat or lack of fat... We all know fatties are fantastic people too. But I know what you mean, my GF is so encouraging and supportive with all the changes. I too tease that I'm going to start wearing her clothes...we are the same size now, but way differently shaped!!! Fun stuff. -
Amen to that. When asked which restaurant you want to go to and you end up choosing something "high end" so the appetizer selection will be more than fried cheese sticks and nachos.

Hey Vegas, Falicity I rode the Red Rock something or another when I was there in January. It was 5 miles up, up, up and 15 miles down, down, down. I scared on the down part and had the bike rental company come pick me up. But wow what a great place to bike! I walked most of the way up the five miles too, btw. I'd have been much happier on my own bike, not on a rental. Lesson learned. Hi Grapes! Welcome to the bycyling piece of LBT. Nice to have you both here. D, that sounds like an awesome goal. My miles are just getting fewer and fewer. I hope to pick up my slacker self later in the season. I just don't have time to get on my bike like I did last year. XO, J

Gwen, There is a blessing in not having the SO here while in school, sometimes. Like you said the anit-social study girl doesn't need to be bothered with someone saying, "let's go the movies" and having to say no, or going and not getting your work done. And there's also having a honey so you're not distracted thinking I've got to find me someone. But sleeping alone and cooking for one when you ACTUALLY have a love interest is annoying. Or when you're sick and want someone to go to the store to buy you tissues is frustrating well and a little sad. But what are you going to do? Yeah she moved away in 06. We weren't supposed to stay together but we have. We weren't even supposed to be a couple but stuff happens and we did. :frown: She's making noises about coming back to Ohio, but the economy isn't really helping that. I can't leave. I share custody of my daughter and I won't leave until she's out of school. Okay, back to weight loss convesation. I love that you're running!! I've given it up because it was hurting my knee. Maybe when I get closer to goal I'll give it a shot again.
