Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
OH Juli replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Cut from my favorite thread...but this is me, before and after...I've still got 40 to 50 pounds togo before plastic surgery, but golly I feel great. -
My house is a mess. That would be kid art hung behind me and nearly under my feet. What does one do with all the art, all the time? I feel bad, but I throw a lot of it away.

D What fantastic pictures!!! You look MARV-A-LICIOUS! BG got the only other t-shirt. The rest got ruined! BG, I knew the food pic was for me. Very funny. I laughed out loud, indeed. I could probably eat that whole plate of food today. And yes, I'm scheduled for a fill on Monday. I'm loving all the pictures gals. Keep them coming!

D, That looks like a bump to me. We got us some real hills in southern Ohio.
-
And am I seeing correctly, you are wearing a few different cycling jersies? WTG... You're looking skinnier too. Woot Woot.

OMG, BG, Fantastic!!!!!! I love all the pics and the picture of the kids made me tear up. The said it right, GREAT JOB!!!!!

There are a lot of posts to filter through here but we've talked about how to buy a bike, what questions to ask of yourself and your bike shop people. What kind of riding do you think you'll do? How much do you have to spend on a bike? Will you be biking with other people? What kind of concerns do you have? Tell us more about what you're thinking and we can give you some opinions. The bottom line is that you are not too big to ride, regardless of your size and there are many different ways to get started.

I'm hitting unsubscribe to this thread. Seems like the conversation has gone all over the place and I'm finished with it. I have enjoyed reading though. We are a varied lot of folk, no? One closing thought however, I love seeing and hearing from people at goal. Your experiences are so very valuable, I appreciate that you share them. Rock on. Juli

me too. I found them by accident. Now they are a staple part of what I eat. They can be super fatty but at only two, who cares? I know at least I got some food in me. Meatloaf is another good one.

Went in for BAND 6*9 Liver issues NO BAND
OH Juli replied to pnutsmom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Pre-op diet, common Over sized liver in obese people, common Waiting months to get surgery, common Jumping through many hoops before approval, common. Eating 75-100 grams of protien daily for the rest of your life after banding, common. I don't mean to negate what you are feeling and hell I would have jumped at the chance to get banded two weeks after deciding to, if it were allowed. My point is there is a lot you seem not to know about this procedure. Perhaps you can use the next three months to really deeply educate yourself for what life with the band means. You will only be that much more successful for your efforts. Best of luck. -
Sniff, I'm so proud of you. Congratulations. I can't wait to get all the details.

And as a side note. I interacted with a person whom I barely know this morning. In passing I said a bright and chipper, "good morning" he shot back some shitty comment that I can't even remember. It was an overcast gray kind of comment, the kind that I certainly didn't want to hear as a retort. I said, "I was taught the appropriate response is, 'good morning to you too'." as I walked away. He followed me down the hall to chat me up some more so I apparently didn't put him off. But it was clear I was. So let people be stinking soul sucking pits of dispare, I've got no time to suffer their foolish behavior.

I feel the need to Jachut's back on this too. You can see a few ah-ha moments and shifts in her thinking if you move from page to page. Not that she's apolgized, nor does she have to, but that she's actually read and processed and admitted that maybe there are other perspectives that she hadn't considered when making her intial post. All of which does not invalidate her inital post's point that sometimes one just needs to find their inner resources and get on with the work at hand... There's room on this big ol fancy board for some very un-like folk to find what they need. If we all felt and thought the same about all situations it would be a boring world indeed.

I dare say this LBT equals the collective.

Has your shoe size changed?
OH Juli replied to Phoenix's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, I've gone from a 9 to an 8. I can wear heels and not feel like I'm walking on bloody stumps after the first 30 minutes. I love shoes. -
Hi Kim, I've got people in Wilmington, well Cincinnati too. I am in Columbus. Check out the cetral ohio board. Welcome!

Just to be a little sympathetic for the guy. Please don't hate me for not getting your side, I get it, but look at things from his point of view. First, he loves you JUST THE WAY YOU ARE. He's scared to death the the LOVE OF HIS LIFE might die having a surgery. He probably thinks you don't need it because you are beautiful and perfect just as you are. I doubt he has the words to tell you that with out sounding completely unsupportive so he's not saying anything at all. Or what he did say was "you're not going at this alone". So looking at that statement, do you think he's thinking about it? He thinking that by taking you to surgery, that by not presenting roadblocks that he is doing the best that he can do? I dare say even if I am off the mark, please allow him to take you to surgery. If, god forbid, something happens to you, you need to be together. He is your partner. He loves you.

Brandy I was talking about this thread. It's should be spelled bicyclers. Instead they've added a y and missed a c. Once the powers that be tried to fix it and spelled it wrong again...so someone TX, or Stefanie, took it back to the original effed up spelling. As for the body bugg, you could start a thread asking who has purchased and since disgarded their buggs, to get a sense of how useful people find/found them. I was just annoyed by it and I thought the information it gave me was too general to keep it up. But that was after I got used to knowing what caused me to burn more calories, etc. The support site for the BB is pretty good, though.

ugh, all the terms for carrying around extra weight. I hate the equation of fat to ugly as well. or fat to lazy or fat to dumb basically generalizations about the outside as it relates to the inside stinks. And really I'm more squishy than anything else at this point.
-
I had a bodybugg and only used it a few months. I know a few other bycylers had/have them. (Note the spelling of the thread...we've come to embrace it.) J
-
I had that problem too and it's nearly all gone at this point. No more sneezer pees.

TA DA, New people thanks for your patience with my ramblings. Old people, too bad, I know you love me. 3000 3000 3000 3000 3000

I miss BG, we send emails every day while we are at work. I suppose I should text her to see how things are going. She's riding 50 -60 miles a day on her trip. Lucky girl.
