You know I got me a tall, gorgeous GF. She's always been healthy, not overweight, or not by much. You know the type that could lose 10 or 15 pounds so her clothes "fit better". Generally she's fit and would be discribed as lanky by most.
She loved getting all over me (I just moved this to PM so as not to freak out the straight people) when I weighed 300+. I had proof that is more tangible than words my fat didn't turn her off.
However, she always looks in the mirror, grabs her little belly and is disgusted in herself. I have to lecture her about how negative self talk isn't productive.
But to cut GF and BFF some slack, they may have matured in this society with a more typically accepted body shape than you or I but they have had the same messages bombard them that we have. They have been told fat is flawed and big is bad. It's easy to not let that message apply to someone you love but hold yourself to a different standard.
You are well within your rights to call her out on her twisted logic. I'd do it more gently than harshly. I'm sure she's frustrated with her behavior...
But yeah the message, "Love it or change it" is something she probably hasn't had to hear before. I know my GF struggles to shut her mouth when she's naked about how much she doesn't like her body. I can't imagine being that blessed and bitching about it, but it happens.
(As I type this, I'm thinking, she's queer right? I think she is. I could look on the LBGT thread, but I'm lazy....)
Peace there girl.
