JC You're on fire! hahaha....but your loss is fantastic! Deanna Thanks for the offer of your duaghter the 1000 miles between us however would make it a bit rough for a quick drop off. I had a rough night with my DD. She caught some bug and spent midnight to 4 am throwing up.....we're home today...poor baby, I know. And she's not feeling great either.

BG If they could do an ass transplant I'd sign up in a minute! Good to know there was a positive outcome at work...or at least not a sucky day. Now it looks like my big ride for tomorrow might be impacted too. Even if I can't go with the group I can hit the trail near my house. I just wanted to get out with people...Herumph.

Okay I'm quoting myself! That's a first. I wanted to clarify about my size...those are 24 twill shorts/jean etc. and I'm not a bubble butt. Poor me. But if you're around that size 2x will fit..they are snug and there is NO mystery but I don't care. The squishy butt thing is fantastic! I joke that when I lose all this weight not only will I have plastic surgery to remove the pannis, and lift the boobs, I'm also going to get ass implants! I joke but I just might........

There are some sassy asses on this board. From Deanna giving me a hard time to JC's burning down the house... As for the heat it is better to ride in the early evening, there is less wind too. Just get a flashing light for your back end...you can wear it on your shorts or clip it to your bike. You never know when you might get too far from home and need to ride in the dusk of the evening. I'm a size 24 right now and they are getting a bit loose. I wear 2X shorts. I think these are them Performance Women’s Elite Short @ Performance Bicycle I just wear a t-shirt on top, I want to buy a jersey or two, but don't want to spend money on them just yet. JC-I think it's cool you are encouraging you buddy to develop a line for banded folks, but many docs are VERY anti drinking protein. I know mine is. And I love a good protein drink. Okay, is anyone available to baby sit on Saturday morning? My regular girl can't so I might not be able to ride. Looks like I'm going to call the Ex MIL to see if she is free. My family lives too far away. ARGH!

Kathy Congratulations! Lucy, I know you've been wanting to get in the pool! Woo Hoo! -
Mary Sounds like you've got a great market in your neighborhood! We have one on Saturday mornings but I never seem to make it up there. Denise Sorry chica that you are under the weather. I've had some funky head cold think going on too. I know a few people fighting it! Summer colds are the pits. At least in winter you expect to get sick! Hope you feel better soon. Mom and jmc Thanks for the support! I appreciate everyone on here. We each have so much to contribute. Peace out- I've got too much homework to do to get on here for the next few days...okay, I'll probably check things out for a study break, but school is kicking my behind!

JC- Ditto what Deanna said.

hi been busy.... I'm doing great with the weight loss right now. Been riding the bike and just saw the surgeon. Still no fill. He's asked me to speak at their cattle call orientation about having the band because I've been so successful! That's pretty cool, made me proud. School is kicking my ass, the GF and I are doing great, my little girl is amazing..... All in all I'm happy. -
Thanks for being encouraging. Funny about ponys and cows. You couldn't give me $100 to get within 15 feet of one. I cringe when my duaghter pets the goats and sheep at the zoo! I'm a city girl through and through! I mean they are cute and all, but far too unpredictable for me! Maybe you could exercises in the house like walk up and down the stairs? Or is there a mall you could drive to and walk inside? There are walking videos out there that people really like. You'll find what works for you...you will. And as for being comfortable in front of a group, yeah if I'm prepared, and trust me I will be, I find it fun. I was actually thinking about joining Toast Masters when I have some free time to really hone the public speaking skill.

Hey Marchies. I'm feeling a piece of the disconnect too. It's on the extreme other side of the equation, but it's real none the less. I know I get on here and talk about my biking long distances and losing with out a fill. I'm not on here bragging, but sharing my experiences going through this journey that we all started around the same time. But to be frank, I don't report all of the NSVs and all the good stuff that's happening because I don't want to seem as if I am gloating. I recognize that many of you are not seeing the same results that I am. I want to say "hang tough" and "keep to the plan" and support and encourage and I do that to a certain extent, but apparently not enough. And yeah to make my point, yesterday my surgeon asked me to speak at his next group orientation of 100 people because in his words I'm "the perfect banded patient." I didn't feel like I could share that here, because it would be recieved as Juli bragging. But I was flattered and proud and feel like for once in my life I'm in control of food instead of food being in control of me.

Mom, What a blessed day tomorrow will be for you and your family! How wonderful. Your daughter will be in my thoughts. I hope she has a good delivery.

BG What a mess to deal with. I'm in school for business management and it's a perfect case study of how not to work effectively. Bitch ass bitches. So are you going to look for a new position? Will the shift move get you far enough away from them? Hoosier You're going to rock that bike!!!! Awesome. Deanna- Google bicycle tours and your state. They will tell if it's flat or hilly if the offer 20, 30, 50, 100 mile rides. It's worth a shot. You never know what's out there unless you look. Regardless goal setting is a good idea. JC Dude, where are you?
-
Hey sorry you're feeling left out and unresponded to. I personally don't try to leave people unanswered. There are just times I don't know how to answer...so I leave it for someone who is more capable. You'll be missed if you leave...
-
Hoosier 20 miles six weeks from now should be doable. Setting goals like that is a fantastic way to grow yourself. DO IT! Deanna- Don't apologize, there's no need! I don't know what the people were thinking...somehow I don't think it's look at that hot chick...but I don't put much into what strangers think about me. Let's talk about goals...The GF, who's named Alison, BTW and I set some goals this weekend for our riding. We are going to shoot for: 40 miles July 21 50 miles Aug 11 62 miles Sept 30 I think it's a bit much but she's all about stretching and improving and I can't really find a good argument, other than I don't wanna...so I do it. Hence shooting for a consistent 30 miles this week. I'll keep you posted.
-
Dude, DO IT! You won't be wasting your time or looking a fool. You'll be getting super fit and that's reason enough! Please let us know what you decide!
-
BG- The light on my ass, as it was so delicately put, is so cars see me at dusk and not hit me. Funny, I ride in biker shorts and I'm at 244 pounds. No small thing. When we did our ride on Sunday I was passing people here and there, those stopped at the side of the road. My GF who was behind me said the people would actually stare a bit. Of course I was the biggest person cycling, well I saw one other good sized chica, but I don't care. Look at me. Look at me pass your skinny ass. Woo Hoo. Okay, and for support, really do you want a phone number? You can keep track of your food with pen and paper. Take a little notebook. Just be sensible about how you eat. You'll be burning mega calories, hauling stuff and just being outside. Watch how you drink, alcohol has huge calories so don't indulge too much...I can't think of anything else. But really, I'm serious if you want a phone number I'll give you mine so to be able to encourage/support ya.
-
jmc- Great NSVs! Working out and not standing on the toilet! That's so great! Hazel- Even though you are headless, you look great! Woot Woot!
-
LOOK AT YOU!!! I only see one chin! Fantastic! You're looking good! Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How are you doing with the band 4 months out?

Jachut, I need to chime in about cycling, not needing to train! I'm simply shocked! Really I agree, but one would want to spend some time in the saddle because cycling does use different muscles than are used for running. Also, there's the getting used to the seat. ((OUCH)). Part of me thinks about doing this as a long term like 2009 goal, but swimming is as close to torture as anything I can think of. When asked if I can swim, my typicaly reply is, "only to save my life" not fun.
-
I'm going to chime in too. Do something, but be consistent and do it daily. If it's walking up the stairs once, with the intention that that is your exercise...not just a trip up the stairs because you have to. Measure how you feel... Do it again the next day. Do it twice, then three times then more and more. I started off not fit at all. My knees hurt and I had no energy. That's soooo not the case anymore, and I've got much more to lose. You'll be surprised at how quickly you get stronger. HTH
-
And BG, I forgot to mention, I just bought icy blue sunglasses on line. Two different pair to go with the rest of the blue I'm sporting. I'll have to get a picture. Oh, and I'll be hitting the gym on the none bike days so I'm not a complete slug.....
-
Hoosier WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!! I don't know, puppies are pretty damn cute. Especially Pomeranians. Babygirl Let me know how the Oprah thing pans out...I'll be part of the group. Cycling Bandsters Who Lose All Their Excess Weight. Thanks for the props. I feel like a slug today because I've not done anything. I can only ride Thursday and Saturday this week, but I'm shooting for 30 on both rides. WOO HOO.

Deanna, You need to change your tag from "wanna be bikerbitch" to "certified bikerbitch". There's no wanna about it. You doing it.
