Eddie, I'm going to double up what Cheri said and add a little more. You should only be drinking Protein drinks after fills to be kind to your band, otherwise you should eat your calories. Also, get you ass back to the gym. Don't kill yourself but do atleast 30 minutes of cardio consistently. And this isn't Atkins. I think you were probably successful with that once upon a time, but dude, you should be eating some carbs here and there. So remember the rules. Protein first, then veg, then whole grain carbs Drink plenty of Water and SF, caffeine free, fizzy free liquids Eat 3 meals and 2 Snacks. Keep them small. Keep the calories under 1200 Move that cute boy booty of yours regularly Write it down, write it down. And stop thinking RNY, now you're just being silly. You know that's a death sentence. I know you're doing a lot of the write things, just get it all aligned and you'll see the weight start to move. Kisses and hugs. -
hey guys I learned last night that you can have a stomach virus with the band! I got DD's sickness.....oi vey. At first I new I had to spew but it wasn't going to happen. Fast forward a few hours later, and BAM! It was miserable. But funnily, DD calls out, "Momma are you throwing up?" "Yes, baby." "Well you're loud and you're waking me up!" "Deal with it." I sat on the floor and read her stories just two nights before. Where's her sympathy?! Thought I'd share... Don't think I'm going to get on the bike for a few days.

Amelia I have your email on my list! I'll be sending out a group email on Sunday. I'm waiting until then to see how many more volunteers pop up. Though we have 6 already! Which is amazing. I expect we'll be a group of 30-50 people, including spouces...easily we can get a block of rooms. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!

We are going to P-Town Aug 4th through the 9th. How about you? It would be so cool to meet you before Vegas. Glad to see you back!!!! -
JC I'm coordinating the planning committee here on LBT, I'll definately see what we can find that's fun!!! I think you'll be alone bungie jumping or sky diving but Hummer dessert tours could get folks going. The date is February 1st through the 3rd. But hold out until the middle of next week. The volunteers and I (6 of us!) are having a virtual meeting on Monday. We're going to set the date in stone then. WOO HOO

Deanna- Recovering is a great indicator of cardio health and strength. You rock! JC- You're a nut. We'll find some extreme sport for you in Las Vegas...promise.

A thread for super-sized bandsters - starting BMI over 50?

Oh and hi people, I don't know why I've never stopped at this thread before...but I certainly fit the profile. -

Since you can't do anything about it, (I had to do the same thing) take the time to work on your mental aspects of being overweight...It's a tough nut to crack, it's proactive for your long term success and you've got nothing to lose...well just a bunch a weight once you get banded! Welcome. -

Eddie, I'm sure you can find some sadistical nurse who'd happily give you a painful fill. -
BG Why didn't I know you were in Micigan???? I thought you were in the south like GA or something? I'm your neighbor to the south and I'm always driving up there to see my sweetie. Well I take a left at Ann Arbor, but we're practically next door! Deanna- It would be a riot to be with you in Vegas. I'm sure we'd be laughing the entire weekend! I can't wait!!! JC- You're the man with a ton of vacation time, would you do Vegas? Your cycling buddies will be there. And, can I tell you, only two days ago did I notice that Bicycling was misspelled on this thread's header...

Why am I not surprised that you're a lush? Really I hate that drinking is still so easy to do. Give me a drink and I start looking for sugar. All of my HORRIBLE days since being banded combined the two!
-
And to report in, I did 22 miles of riding tonight. I could have gone faster, but no matter. I got it done.
-
JC Go on line and look it up...I think it's pretty common. I saw a dude training for a marathon and his nipples looked all calloused. It might be a matter of putting bandages over them while you run...if you've got a hairy chest that might be a pain to remove... I'm guess it from the friction of your shirt on your nipple. Ewwwwwwwww....I'm sure you're FREAKED out.

Hey Planner People Thanks for the emails! I'll create a group after a few days so we'll all be talking to each other. I'm looking for us to all get into a chat room next week Monday night to wrap our hands around this. I can do anywhere from 7-10 pm EST. Tell me what works for you. I could do later on Tuesday too. Thanks, Juli

Hey people, Looks like LBT people are meeting in Vegas the first weekend in February next year! I'm planning on going! I'd love to meet some of you guys in the flesh. Check out the thread on the main board!
-
I'm started to recruit volunteers to organize this event. Send me an email at juligirl01@sbcglobal.net Mark your calendars for February 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. If you have a favorite place to stay in Vegas and want to suggest it, please tell us on this thread. If there is a "MUST DO" activity you think would fit the group, add that as well. Thanks everyone!

Hey Queer People Looks like LBT is going to Vegas in Feburary. I'm helping coordinate the effort. I'd love to meet some of yous guys in the flesh. Months ago Alexandra started a "where would you want to meet" thread. Vegas was the most popular destination. So come one join the fun. -
I really want to get this going. Come on LBTers...let's do vegas.

I'd be down for the three day ride. I don't want to spend an entire vactaion riding in a state I visit often... Hey Deanna, Hoosier, JC and Banannie....what do you think? Michigan is beautiful this time of year. I could get the GF to play hostess too, though she's in the SW part of the state... It's a ways away, 13 months, but might as well start talking about it now... Also, I'm part of a group organizing LBTers in Vegas in February next year. I don't think we'll be biking there, but it would be great to meet some of yous guys.

Deanna- I bet if you do the math you'll see that you'll have 1000 miles on your bike by the time you put it up for the winter. You're doing about 100+ a week, 10 weeks, bada bing bada boom, you've done 1000 miles in a season. Thanks all for the kind words about Zoe. She's really pathetic and MILKING it. Of course, I bend easily...She really was very sad last night. "I'm sorry...I'm sorry..." like if she apologized about bad behavior earlier in the night it would make it stop. If only I could. She's going to the EX this afternoon. I'm trying to get homework done now so I can ride with the group this evening. I really like the group rides, but they add an extra hour to the time because of traveling to and from. My ass is going to be on the bike 2 hours, if I have 3 hours to spare I'll go, otherwise I'll be on the bike path near my house. Yeah, this is a study break. At least I don't have work people bothering me today.

Congrats Stevee. Start saving your pennies! It's amazing how they nickle and dime us to death, even with insurance. Woo Hoo. -
Interested in a Gathering?

Hi Lori Ann I was waiting for one more person to offer to help coordinate this. Chimboree and I were both on board to make it happen. I'm going to start a new thread Vegas or Bust FEB 08. We'll see what shakes out of that! -
Mary- You have got to be so frustrated! Don't worry about time and money and don't be ashamed. The investment into your future health is worth every penny, every minute. Like a stock investment, you might be on a downturn, but stick it out and it will go up again and you'll see results. I've seen before where you say snacking is what gets you. I'm a huge snacker too. What I did to try to curb it was plan my day on a piece of paper. Like breakfast at 8, snack at 10, lunch at 11:30, snack at 2, dinner at 5:30, snack at 7. I don't write down what I am going to eat, but at 9 when I want to snack it helps me to think I just ate an hour ago and I only need to hold out for another hour. I does cause me to go, I shouldn't be hungry. I'm not hungry. Drink some tea or water. HTH- and go to that Doctor and share your struggles with him, don't be embarassed. He is there to help you, not judge.
