Thanks everyone. Apparently due to the amount of weight I've lost, my port is tilted way down. I was told all fills will be done under flouro from now on. He put in 1.75 cc, as 1.5 didn't restrict much and 2 closed me off. I've got a trickle. So there you go...sipping my Grape Frost Isopure (Thanks for the tip Mary!) and back to work.

Wow, morning gang. HP-thank your daughter. We do need her. And we'll pay her too. I could stay at a camp site. I've done it before, I'd do it again. I've got a giant 9x12 foot tent. Zoe would have a blast. I thought hotel because it would give the children something to do (swim) while we were biking. But really I don't have giant money right now so camping would be the better choice. And if we did the hotel it would be two nights..because of travel time and check out time. That's serious money. I will leave finding the camp site up to you guys. Also, all the fun extra equipment like camp stoves and lanterns... I'll get a tent, bedding, and cooler but I'm not much good for much else. Remember I'll be taking a final the Thursday right before we go. And I'd want to get there Friday night since the ride starts at 9am.
-
Denise- I'm doing alright. I get my fill tomorrow under fluro. I'm excited for some restriction, but scared it will zap my energy. But I'm doing it! The teachers come back on Wednesday next week and our kids come in the following Monday. More importantly, my little girl starts Kindergarten on Wednesday next week!!! She's psyched, I on the other hand, want her to stay little. But she is so ready. Enjoy your last few days of summer!

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f17/vegas-january-agenda-next-steps-39545/#post539344 This talks of what's on the agenda. But it’s pretty loose. The bike ride is for anyone who is interested in going. It too costs around $100 per person. You'd think I shit money they way I'm trying to spend it. Frankly, I live pay check to pay check...but the GF makes more money than is reasonable for any one person. She helps with the travel expenses sometimes. And other nice things though I'm holding out for a solitaire, one or more caret, diamond ring… I told her two months’ gross salary... I like sparkly things. Where was I? Thanks for the props on the weight loss. I stepped on the scale twice but it read 234, I think it’s artificially low, but I’m owning it. The next 3 days of liquids will make it real. School is weird. I start grad school in January though I won’t have my BS in Business Management until August 08. It’s a combo program where my grad stuff goes toward my undergrad to make it go more quickly. It shaves off 8 months. However I have to pay for and take graduate level classes for 8 months to get a Bachelor’s degree. I’ll have my MBA in August of 09. You all will have to come to Columbus for that party! After the MBA I’m looking to go back to the private sector, some huge global food organization, like Starbucks or Busch Beer or Borden. I want to do that for a while then move to something smaller where I can be a big fish. Also, I’m a Certified Public Manager, and I do have a piece of my heart in public service, so I’ll look at better run agencies before I write them off completely. Right now where I work is being lead by people I have no respect for and I’m frustrated beyond words.

DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDdddd If you make to vegas I'd....I'd just burst or something! That would be so freaking awesome! We are biking on Saturday. They pick you up from the strip, give you a bike, helmet and a guide (i think) and bring you back! Who thought when I got this band it would involve meeting traveling and meeting people?

I leave for 3 hours and I get more of JC's farts...it figures. I'll start reserving things when or if we get a sitter. HP said she'd ask her daughter tonight so we should know by tomorrow. Woot! I'm seriously stoked by the idea of the ride. That weekend falls between two classes so I'll have just finished a final and not yet started on the new stuff. I love that you are a Googling Maniac! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SUBJECT CHANGE I don't talk about my job much because I hate it. Next week the teachers return and the week following the students return. Yuck. We had camps all summer so it wasn't like there was a big lull like what is typical. I am not excited by the new school year. I manage a staff of 6 and I really love most of them most of the time but there is one who gives me a freaking ulcer. They are union and it's a state agency so just firing her ass isn't a choice so now I have to put a disiplinary grid into effect and watch her like a hawk. We work in a kitchen (not rocket science0 and there are more people than there is work to do, but she still manages to fuck around too much and doesn't do what she needs to do. There are language issues, deaf/hearing, cultural issues, she went to the school so she feel intitled...I'm just feeling pissy and realized that's the root cause. Bitch ass bitches...OH and it's a kitchen so yeah, it's like an alcholic working in a bar. I used to be a professional baker and cook...so I can make some rocking food, and do use my powers for good, I make healthy stuff often, but yesterday I made sweet potato cake with cream cheese icing. It was awesome and I ate too much of it... WTF.

Blowing it off sounds like a reasonable thing to do. I like to think of myself as "Lady Justice" with a scale in my hand, always balancing right and wrong. HA! Nope, the scale is glued to my feet, but I have a reasonable relationship with it. I try not to let it influence my attitude. I've got a healthy enough perspective on the thing-or so I believe. Kids can I tell you my motivation to do anything work related is just out the window. I had lunch with my daughter's grandma today. (EX's mom.) and it was lovely, but carb loaded...now I have to get in the gym. She and I have always gotten along and we chat regularly on the phone, but she wanted my nicer big clothing so we had lunch and I passed them on. We looked through the bag a little and I was sad to see some of my favorite things go, but they were too big anyway now.... Wow, my emotions are all over the place. I need to get in the gym.

Denise, Do my eyes deceive me or are you one pound away from half way to goal?! What a fantastic mile stone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I posted on the pic site and I will here too. BG, you are doing fanfuckintastic! You look awesome! D-The same is better than a gain. You'll drop a bunch at your next weigh in. How often do you weigh? You know me, I'm a daily paranoid freak. HP-I love this tread too. I feel you guys are genuine friends. Who'd a thunk it?

How To Shift Shimano STI Levers! - genesisbicycles.com This is on shifting gears. My WOW (women on wheels) group just sent this around. FYI. Who would have thought, an actual bike related post, by me.

Just Crazy......LOL....I love it.

JC I'm down for all kinds of sharing, but really you can keep the particulars, like what you like to do with asses to your self! LOL. Sicko. D- I forgot, YOU ROCK YOU AMAZING HILL CONQUERING DIVA! BG- It does feel good to get the praise. I've talked before about how I typically wear a uniform at work. (3X polo) and when I wear my fit me clothes I get all kinds of shout outs. Yesterday I wore my size 22 jeans and a scoop neck Tshirt, it's casual here in the summer, and people were just falling over themselves to say nice things. I even got a "you're georgous!" from an older woman, which made me happy. I try not to get hung up on the "I was cute before, just fat" mentality. People want to be happy for me, so I am happy with them. Before it's all said and done you'll be wearing size S scrubs!!!
-
D- How soon until you are done with school? The scrubs are going to fit you very differently now that your are getting skinny. JC- Typos are so allowed. If I fretted about them on here I'd be a mess. don't worry. B- Like D said, you get points for jumping in. We've been all over the place with talking about our bands, biking, near death experiences, frustrations, vacations, pets and children. We share the love. HP- Girl, you must be working at work. Hello. BTW, glad your DH will be coming on the ride. My GF said she was going to pass unless others brought their SOs. I don't want her to pass...so thank your man for me. BG-and ya'll, have you tried to talk about our little group with the outside world? I was telling the GF about you all last night and saying, "H.P. and B.G. and I were talking about a mid point"...finally I called you Detroit and Indiana, because I really can't remember your names...Traci and Stacy maybe....and it's all JC's fault. Because of him we've initalized. And JC, do people call you that or do they call you Joe, Jim, James, John, Justin, Josh, Julius? What the hell? Obviously I'm not getting much work done this morning. That will change...must get busy.

What about walking for exercise; in a mall or outside weather permitting. You don't need to wear anything fancy and take it at a pace that's good for you. Also if your house has stairs you can do a set amount of stairs each day as your exercise. You might feel a little silly, but there won't be any eyes on you. Really burning calories will help you lose just as much as restricting calories. xo

Do you all ever sleep? I logged off very late and there's a full page since then! JC-I'm really scared of being bitten by a dog...well more like chased by a dog while riding. It happened when I was a teen and I freaked out. I think I'd do better now, but non-the-less...I can't believe you didn't miss a beat. You're insane. HP-If your daughter is game for babysitting let us know. She can name her price. We'll probably be out for 5 hours. I'll start looking for hotels if she says yes. HP and BG, are you going to camp or hotel it? I used to camp, but I happily gave up all the stuff when I split with the ex. I'd rather sleep standing up than on another air mattress. JC will you really come up here for that? I don't know where you are in Florida, how long of a drive you'd have to do, but for real let us know. Would you be camping in your hammock or staying in a room? B-We've got to ride what feels right...and you can always cover your biking shorts with a regular pair or even moutain biking shorts which I believe have better placed seams. And for real, I don't look so hot in mine but I dare anyone to say anything to me. BG, I feel ya about the squished thigh mass.

Mary you can see you've lost weight in your face in your new picture! Wow-wee!!! Will you smile again in the next one? (Just being silly) You look great.

Kathy I followed you from the Vegas thread. I just want to say HOLY COW you are only 6 days away...not like I need to tell you...but I'm so stoked for you and I know you've got to be full of all kinds of emotions. You'll do really well. Being banded is the best thing I've ever done, aside from getting me a baby. WOO HOO, can't wait to actually meet you. -
She has a boo boo on her chest that just won't heal with out some serious surgery and keeping an E collar on her. Because of her age, I'm just letting it be. It doesn't hurt her, I guess. I love my sweetie, sweet dog.
-
B Welcome dude. We are a friendly group and I'm so happy you introduced your self to us. Biking is something I always did a little of when I tried to lose weight, but never before have I invested money or time or my heart into it as I have done now. I really love the sport, and meeting people and what it does for my most shapely calves. (My thighs I'll save for "parts that look like ass" conversation.) I LOVE my road bike. I think I'm the only one who ACTUALLY rides one (ahem, JC...) out of the 5 of us. The other chicas are saving for thiers and JC is a big whiny baby who scared of hurting his boy bits by sitting on the seat. You might be too...but I don't know you well enough to talk about your bits. JC on the other hand, I'll talk about his all day long. HP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've wanted you to get on all day! You must have been busy. My daughter is turning 6 on Sept. 19th. She starts Kindergarten next Wednesday. They can poke me a million times on Friday for the fill and I'm not nearly as worried about that as I am about my baby going to school. She's been in preschool since she was 18 mos., it's just that Kindergarten is the end of being a baby. You all just had me take a picture of my dog. I've had her for over 12 years and she's getting up there. She's a Weimarainer. I'll post a pic in a minute.

It's open for everyone on the list! PLEASE come! Are the instructions clear in the initial post? I worry that it's a bit confusing. Woo Hoo

Regular life? There is such a thing? I feel like I run from one thing to the next to the next! But I know what you mean. Looks like I can breathe come the end of September, but I've just planned a big ass bike ride in a different city...so that means getting a room....coordinating with other LBTers. Pamela, I have to say meeting you was such a treat I'm pressing my luck and my cycling buddies and I are going to meet in Indiana to ride come the end of September. You were so awesome, I'm betting they will be too. (Bad logic, but wtf? eh?) -
I'd call the hotel about getting a sitter. I bet that's a possibility. There's plenty of time to sort things out. Share on the board what you find out about the sitter. Others might want to know too!

I'm laughing with tears in my eyes.... Oh you guys. D- What JC and BG said, you were probably trying to mediate the tension by saying, “the easy way out.” We females are trained to be self effacing, too. Mocking oneself isn’t horrible and we do things for all kinds of reasons. I think figuring out why isn’t a waste of time so you maybe not do it again in the future, but don’t let it bother you much longer. It was what it was…and you are who you are…Which is one, kick ass rocking, mother fuckin’ bikin’ babe. (I’m gonna kicked off this board for my language one day!) Now your brother doesn’t seem like he is the most sensitive of people. I think JC’s insights are really valuable. I love the tool line too. Good thing he doesn’t borrow tools, because yours isn’t borrow-able! He can buy his own. And chances are he will in fewer than 5 years based on your success. Now, that man of yours sounds like a keeper. Got to love someone who will let you wallow then kicks your ass when the time is right. Kiss your DH for me. (I always use a proxy when it comes to kissing boys.) J BG- I used Lamisil to get rid of my nasty yellow toenail and it worked. I had to take it for 6 months and it took an additional 6 months for the nail to grow in, but I’ve got a normal toenail now. I think that’s the drug name. They had a horrid commercial where the nasty animated critter lifted the toenail and climbed in. Remember? It’s a prescription drug but it worked! Otherwise keep that thing painted. Any really it’s the untrimmed numbers that gross me the hell out!
-
BTW- Fart lighting is done bare assed. JC- I don't have a thing for your feet in particular, it's all feet. And really I'm either neutral or grossed out by feet. Like someone running around with HORRIBLE toe nails can just send me. Especially in the summer with people wearing sandels and you see some giant yellow toe nails poking out..........GAG ME! So, a person with decent toe nails will get a compliment, if it's appropriate. Like a seeing a picture on-line.... Don't mean to break your heart.

We'd love to have you in Indiana if that works out! As for weight training, I don't do what your talking about, but I did do that about 5 years ago. I forget what it's called, but it was kind of a fad at the time. I do 3 sets of 15, using primarily free weights or a cable/jungle system MJ4 Multi-Jungle : Life Fitness : Commercial for my upper body. Since I've been biking I only do a two lower body sets, leg curls and leg press. Those are on machines. I do my abs nearly every day, on a ball, floor and the cable machine. I'm pretty agressive about adding weights, tracking what I do and I am certain to fatigue by the last few reps on the last set. I can be more specific if you want...like I tend to do 2 or 3 different exercises for each muscle group. Want to know what they are??? I really do enjoy strength training once I get started. Miss you Deanna!
