Beans, beans, beans...with extra salsa. At home, on taco night, I skip the tortilla and eat the meat, cheese and lettuce. I've not had issues. Thank goodness!
-
Well if it does look good, and they'll do a fill go, go slowly....you strike me as an all or nothing kind of guy...something about riding 80 miles...I'm not sure why I have that perception of you. Be careful. You know you've got the best group of cheerleaders on this board. :cheer2:

JC I understand being disappointed. Is it that you wanted a solution, any solution, rather than not knowing? HP was right, perhaps they are giving you more time to resolve the issue before, checking with an x-ray, with the hopes of you keeping your band. It's really hard to go around with out knowing what may happen, I'm sure. But put it somewhere in your head, "it's okay not to know." Or if you're just pissed for any host of other reasons disregard the above.

I'm going to stay on plan tomorrow because I'm loving the work outs. But what good is it to kick your own ass at the gym only to eat those squishy, mushy, easy to go down, high calorie foods??? Tomorrow, I'm going to slowly eat my low cal Protein, eat my cooked green veggies and drink lots of Water. -

Pamela, Yeah Baby, it was fantastic. It took me 4:06 of actual time on the bike. But how unreal is that to ride 56 miles. I don't see me doing a century -100 miles- this season, but I will by May next year. My girl parts are just fine, my knee gave me trouble....but did I post the bike stuff on the thread? Are you stalking me? Just kidding. Thanks for the opportunity to brag. I'll be posting my 6 month pictures this weekend, that will give me another opportunity...cuz you know, I'm smokin'! XO -
I'm going to vote for too tight, Janine. You need to get some proper nutrition in there.

Edd, I'm sending you some positive juju. I'm sure you'll be sore and recovering when you read these words. -
HP I hate being without my bike, but getting it tuned up is a good thing. JC Tomorrow's the big day no? Are there any presurgery things you need to being doing/not doing? Your ankle is okay? BG Where the hell you at? D Ala rootbeer. How you doin'? B Hope all is well.

My NSV today my 6 year old was able to wrap her arms completely around my waist and lock her hands together. That's never happened! I got my first full embrace from my little girl! Mind you the little terror will lay on top of me and cuddle a million different ways, but I've been so looking forward to this one and it finally happened. Denise, girl you kill me. But yeah baby, you're just a bitch, not a fat one. Woo Hoo.

Hi Traci You drama queen...How was the canoe trip? The recovery from the bike ride is fine, thanks for asking B. It's going to be a bit before my schedule allows for biking. grumble grumble. off to do homework.
-
D. What a ride! That's a story you'll be telling for years to come. I know, little good that does today. Happily no one got hurt. (Like the Indian dude.) You've got a great attitude about the situation.

annie Thanks for the response. Sad to say this will be my 3rd pet in my adult life I'll have lost. As for my kid, I've started to plant the seed that Kira is old and will die soon. She says that she will miss Kira but in the same breath she's asking if we can get a new pet as soon as she is gone. Ugh. A new pet is the furthest thing from my mind. Again, thanks.
-
JC Do you track your calories? Are you continuing to be mindful of calories in verses calories burned? I'd hate to see you lose your band, but if it happens you still can be successful at keeping your weight off. It will be hard and you'll need to retool your thinking, but if anyone can do it you can! :cheer2:

LS Getting used to the seat takes a little doing. Give it another day and just ride through the pain. Don't wait too long though, because the you'll need to start from zero again. I don't know the science behind it, I just know that you have got to get up on it and ride....annyoing I know. So people, dog lovers amoung us, it looks like it's getting closer and closer to the time when I need to put my dog of over 12 years down. Trying to find the balance between her quality of life and dealing with her failing abilities is hard. She's happy to sleep 23 hours a day, but she keeps away from the family. She pees in the house even if we are home. She can't hear much or see well..... Then there's the whole thing about sharing the death of a pet with a 6 year old. Any pointers? So bummer thread but you guys are my peeps....

http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f90/marchies-september-40602/#post555139 It's a new month and a new thread. Jump on over to our 6 month thread!

Hi Jeni, thanks for starting the September thread. I love my band. I got my first fill just 3 weeks ago so I'm new to this serious restriction. I do well when I'm careful, but if I get overly hungry or when I'm thoughtless about the size of my bights I get stuck. Often not to the point of PBing, but to the point of being in pain. I feel dumb everytime it happens. But my weight loss has remained a constant 10lbs a month. I lost 23 before surgery. I'm please as punch with my losses. I'll have pictures posted this weekend close to my 6 month bandivarsary.

....because I didn't have SURGERY, check out life for a few weeks to recover, spend hours in therapy and talk a whole lot of stuff about how important losing weight is to me to everyone I know to mess around and not be focused and on plan. That's one fantastic run-on sentance. -
D I feel ya. I too am having the PB's from hell solely because I'm eating too quickly. And it's always when I'm alone, because when I'm with people the last thing I want to do is slime and heave so I'm uber careful. I love the restriction, but damn! What a literal pain! Good luck at the BBQ. You're strong, you'll do well. JC, you're a maniac!
-
Dude, You just had to up one me didn't ya? That's too cool! What a bad ass story! You rock! I hope you got that dude's info so you can hook up for another ride. And I hope he gets his bike fixed.. You make me feel like a whiner baby for complaining about my achy knee... Damn, you da man.
-
Hi people. We are so quiet today.... Just a shout out to you all....XO
-
if you get 800 calories minimally with 60 plus grams of Protein, you'll be fine. And you eat over the course of the day... It's easier to do than you think.

Need experienced bandsters input please

Food is still important to me but in a different way. How it's changed: It's not the first thing I think of in the morning. I meet friends for drinks, coffee or wine, not dinner anymore. I don't fret about the cost of the food I buy, because I go for quality not quantity. I think a lot more about how I feed my daughter. I don't allow her nearly the amount of junk I used to. She doesn't seem to care. I talk to her about food giving us energy to move. (She's nearly 6). I get full and I'm done. I'm learning to order less, or save bits of left overs where as in the past I'd just have eaten them. I have had to remind myself to eat, it's been "hours" since the last time. Having the band causes you to change your life. Not just adding exercise and eating less. You really will have to process your relationship with food. That's a fantastic thing too! Because it's ones relationship with food that is out of whack that makes one get fat. So, don't expect things to be the same...the same is not what you want. And it's not atkins, south beach, weight watchers or any of the other things you may have done in the past. It's a whole new way. And that is refreshing. -
Nana Mine is set from my initial consult with the group I had surgery with. It is not my highest known weight which is 338...though I do believe I weighed more, I just hadn't been on a scale. As for truth in tickering, I believe the ticker is for you, so do with it what you want. If not adding pounds and only taking them off keeps you motivated that do that. If keeping it as acurate as possible makes you feel less guilty do that... For real, we are more than the numbers that represent different parts of our lives. I am not my bank account or my weight. I'm sure you are not either. So don't sweat it sweetie! And for the record, I only take pounds off, I'll be damned if I'm going to add them back. If someone is checking my numbers daily they need to find a hobby. XO

What's the last thing you said to your surgeon just before your LB procedure?!
OH Juli replied to UN5-3051's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My friend made me paranoid before the surgery by saying I should take a sharpie and write "lapband" on my belly so as not to get the bypass. Well, that caused me to ask everyone I came in contact with to tell me what thought I was there for. Pain in the ass that I am....They just laughed at me, read the chart, told me "lapband"...I told them I nearly wrote it on my belly, which caused them to laugh...The very last words out of my mouth was probably "palm trees..." I was asked to describe a tropical vacation.... Cool thread. Thanks
