Hello all, as I have indicated in my title, I have moved to Florida. Tampa to be exact. My problem is that I cant seem to find me a doctor here. I have researched on here and everything that I am finding is about a year old. I had an unfill on August 27th (with my doc in Texas) due to vomiting constantly! Now I havent lost a thing in 5 weeks! This is so frustrating. I am 15 pounds to my goal. I am depressed and yes I am eating evertime my HEAD says I am hungry. Anyway, I digress, if anyone knows of a good fill doctor in or around Tampa please let me know. I dont mind having to drive a little. And any encouragement would be appreciated as well! I was banded in April of this year and have lost forty pounds so far. Thanks to all, Deanna

New Biggest Loser 9/21 - Lapband Failure Contestant
TxMomof4 replied to vikki99's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hate to jump into a post this late in the game, but I thought at the beginning of the show they said she had bypass? I love the show but it is unrealistic how much the people work out. Like a previous poster said, who has time after the show to work out 7 to 8 hours a day? -
Good for you Pluto for not giving up! Now that you recognize the issue you will do great! I have not had that problem, but I am now struggling. So we all have our issues. Good thing is now you know what you were doing wrong and are on your way! D

Congrats! That is awesome, you are almost there! Whats your next mini goal? D

Way to go girlfriend! I think your amazing! I did not keep a pair of my largest size and wish I had! I was to excited about not having to wear them to keep them! But I think I too will go buy a pair to keep as a reminder!

Stress and eating habits
TxMomof4 replied to ElfiePoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Elfie, Just wanted you to know I am sorry to hear of your loss of your FIL. My MIL passed on the Sunday before Thanksgiving. So I understrand your stress eating. I am so thankful that you and your son are ok from the car crashes! How scary is all of that. At least now you can recoginize that you are eating from the stress and change it! That is a great step in the right direction. If you dont mind, I will say a prayer for you and your family. Take care, Deanna -

Wow my friend, you have (again) given me much to think about. Like your DH, mine loves me no matter what weight I am at. Why can we not love ourselves in that manner? -
lol! I have used the split crotch to pee, NOT a pretty site! I wish I knew how in the world that the shaper helped you, but if I were to wear that my muffin top would be worse. I wonder is it because you are tall and I am, hmmmm should we say vertically challanged? How uncomfortable was it in the jeans?

Well the one we inherited is definitely the Madagascar Palm. It stands about 7 to 8 feet tall. Its bald right now, no leaves, thought I had killed it. But I guess not since you said yours comes back. The flowers we get are white. It has bloomed twice in six months. I am not taking it with us if and when we move!

OH MY! I laughed till I cried, I have so been there done that! You know, your thighs must be in better shaped than mine because I get thigh muffins if I wear the ones that come only mid thigh. Not so attractive! They need to make them from under bra to below the knee so that when you (I, me, us, whoever) wear pants the thigh muffin doesnt show. Maybe we just need to invent some of our own! With a snap and all!

PLease HELP, I've gained almost all my weight back
TxMomof4 replied to katie78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
No way could I eat bread with good restriction. But you need to realize that we may have different bands or different sizes. Or even different amounts in the same type band, or you may have less fat around your stomach than I do. Unfortunetly or fortunetly we are all different and that includes our restriction. Maybe if you stopped eating the bread and had just the Protein, plus added protein you would loose without another fill? I can loose no matter what I eat as long as I have good restriction BUT I love meat! I would rather have a steak or pork chop than the bread! All I am trying to say is maybe since the doc is not cooperating with you that you try cutting out bread for awhile and increase your protein and see what happens. Also, in my opinion, your doc should be listening to you and if you are doing what he says then he needs to have you see the NUT. Maybe they can guide you better? Keep us posted as to what he says next time you go in. Dee:lol: -
Ok, so I have to ask, what is the name of the plant you have in the doorway? I know, odd question. But when we moved into this rental here in Florida, the house came with one! It gets these great flowers on it that smell wonderful. But I have no clue as to what the plant/tree/shrub thingy is!! HELP ME MY FRIEND! btw, it can hurt too! Thorns from hell!

WOW, that's awesome! You look great! Dee:thumbup:

Hey there, just wanted to let you know that eggs can be difficult for some of us. I for one cannot do eggs if I have really good restriction. Scrambled seems worse than fried (weird huh?) I would go back to liquids for a day or so and let it settle down. If it is not better by tomorrow, call your surgeon. Hope that helps Dee:lol:

I like walking with warriors as well, if my vote counts

I am not good with coming up with names, so I will leave that to the creative ones! But I think this is a great opportunity for all involved! Thanks for the suggestion! Dee

banded 6 and 1/2 years
TxMomof4 replied to montanagirl_2010's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Wow AMber, thats awesome that you have done so well. Such an encouragement! Would you mind sharing with us your experiences? I have met one other person who has had her band longer than you and she worked for my band doctor. If you have been able to gain only 20 pounds in that long without restriction, that is awesome! I really hope that you loose what you want before your big day, Congrats! D -
Numbing medication with fills
TxMomof4 replied to jessicakolman's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My first doctor didnt use xray but did use lidicane injections. Never quite understood the whole needle to use a needle again. My new NP uses the spray numbing stuff (forgot what it is called) I like that much much better! She also uses an xray machine to see where my port is so she is able to get it right off. To the poor girl whos port is tilted, do you not worry about how many times they are penetrating the port? I thought I had read somewhere on here that there are a certain number times that it can be pricked......I know its in the thousands but if you are having to be stuck 30 times each fill, that would worry me! For those who are losing hair
TxMomof4 replied to happy2lose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello all, just wanted to put in my 2 cents worth I too have had a ton of hairloss, but I had plenty to spare! Just when I started to get worried about how much I was loosing, I noticed new growth. Can you say porcupine? I look like I have all these little bristles sticking up out of my head! ( If anyone other than me notices, they dont say anything) Its so funny looking, but I refuse to cut my hair short. So I will live with it. I am 9 months out and the new growth is about an inch and a half long, so it looks like the original posters timing is the same as mine. New growth around eight months! Arent our bodies amazing! The first circle of hell
TxMomof4 replied to ElfiePoo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Elfie, Thank you for your post! I want to say that I am sorry for your loss, I lost my MIL the Sunday before Thanksgiving and buried her the day before. My poor FIL, I worry about him so much. Sounds like your MIL will do great with you by her side (or slightly in front of you, dragging you). Keep up the good work! Deanna
