I agree about your calories, not much of anything. You might want to call the doctors office. My pre-op diet was Protein shakes for Breakfast and lunch then a low cal low carb diet for dinner. Just be careful about the adkins advantage, I didnt realize that I was drinking down 4 a day with 9 grams of fat in each!! Thats a whole lot of fat! Goodluck D:lol:

I had the same thing, but for 2 days. I had a patch for nausa and in combo with the eye stuff the put in on surgery day, caused me to be blurry. After I took off the patch, the next day it was all better. It never hurts to call the doc and make sure. D:lol:

Slipped Band and Revision Surgery...
TxMomof4 replied to ebar822's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am so glad that you were able to get a new band. I wish you all the best. One thing though I want to address though, my surgeon told me that he used permanant stiches to hold the band in place. Not temp ones. I wonder if it is different with different doctors? Anyway, best wishes Deanna -

TxMomof4 replied to lich3853's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Mick, i am a week post op also. I do still get that pain in my neck/shoulder. Sometimes it hurts sooooo bad! I try to get up and walk around when it gets that bad. The pa told me today that it could last up to ten days. So be patient. When do you go in for your pos-op? D:lol: -

Those that have had surgery this week
TxMomof4 replied to comtemplating's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My surgery was on Friday the 3rd. I got to the surgery center at 11:00am thinking my surgery wasn't till one. But they were ahead of schedule! So I walked in signed all my papers, paid my bill and I was off! It was a whirlwind, at one point I had 3 people asking me questions:w00t:. I have to say that the staff at Prestonwood Surgery Center in Plano Texas ROCKS!!!!!! I have never met nicer people, they were wonderful. Anyway, I digress, I was home by 4 that afternoon. Slept alot, walked some, sipped alot. I have to say day 2 was much harder, but only because of the stupid gas! The more I walked the better it got. So walk walk walk! Tomorrow will be a week and I feel almost back to normal. I have my post-op appointment in the morning. One more week of liquids, I cannot wait for mushies. Its not that I am really hungry, its just that food smells amazing! Don't stress, you will do great! D:lol: -
What did you wear on surgery day?
TxMomof4 replied to hrtgoeson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone, I hope everyone is doing well! I wore a "track suit" with a t-shirt and flip flops. I did wear panties, dont remember how they got back on though ...and a hook in front sports bra from wallyworld. It was cheap and comfy. I havent tried jeans yet, kinda scared to. I am still pretty puffy from the gas!!! I hope it goes away soon! Good luck with your surgery! D:cool2: -
Hello everyone, I was banded on Friday. I have only taken my pain meds 4 times. I dont have much pain, got rid of a ton of gas already! Thank goodness, but I have this strange sensation in the middle of my stomach, almost like a cramp but not....I wish someone else had this so I knew it was normal. I cant tell if I am hungry or not. I had 4 ounces of Protein shake this morning and 3 ounces of butternut squash soup at lunch. I dont think I am taking in enough. Any thoughts? Of course I am drinking my Water. Overall I feel good. Just dont think I am "eating" enough....Help! D:crying:

Dr. Victor Gonzalez, Dallas, Tx
TxMomof4 replied to Tropicana's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I ahvent heard of him, but I am in Dallas as well. I am seeing Dr. Castro. My surgery is Friday! Have you tried to search his name on this site to see if there have been other posts about him? Goodluck, D:lol: -
Hello all you beautiful bunnies! I got my date Friday, met with Dr. Castro. LOVE HIM! Anyway, went to speak with coordinator after meeting with the doc. She started to tell me that the anethes. would call me Thurday night and the office will call me with what time I need to be at the surgery center. I went "What?" She said, didnt you want Friday, the 3rd? I was like "YES!". So obviously I have alot to get done this week. First off I would love to have a twin if there is someone out there without one. Any takers? D:lol:

Was anyone banded at a weight of 200lbs or less?
TxMomof4 replied to 31andnew's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
31andnew, i thought that same thing! Whats weird is that even though im in Texas, my hubby has an office in Tampa. I was just there last week with him. Maybe we could meet sometime when I am there. Do you have a band buddy yet? We could keep up and give each other support.... D:redface: -
Was anyone banded at a weight of 200lbs or less?
TxMomof4 replied to 31andnew's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hello everyone, I am so glad that 31andnew posted this. I have had similiar situations at the doc's office. I am also 5'1" and am currently about 187. I will be self pay because my insurance sucks. I absolutly think I deserve this, just like Luluc. I have tried for years to loose only to gain it back and sometimes gain more back than I lost! I know I can loose, its the maintaining that I cant seem to do, thats where the band comes in. I refuse to feel guilt over this, besides I dont want to be as unhealthy as my sweet mom is. Tomorrow I see my surgeon to discuss my surgery date. I am sooooo excited, the sooner the better. I was told at one consult by the nurse that I would probably not have to do the 2 weeks of liquids, which can I tell you made me very happy! I will probably do low cal low carb for a week. Anyway, enough ranting, I wish all of you happy loosing! D:lol: -
Hi there! I am finding out tomorrow when my surgery date will be. I hope the next few days go fast for you and that your surgery goes well! Keep us posted, D:smile2:

Hello all! I am new to this board, but I have already found it a great help and a comfort. I am hoping to schedule my surgery for March 23. My doctor is Dr. Beinivedes, in Richardson Texas, if there are any others that have been banded by him, I would love to know about your experience. I am not scared just anxious to get it done and over. I want to begin this journey! I have thought about having this done for years, but never thought it would be possible. Any suggestions would be very welcome!

Hello everyone:redface: my name is Deanna and I live in Texas. I have been married for 23 years to my best friend. We have 4 beautiful children, 19, 16, 15 and 13. Having 3 kiddos back to back like I did, did a number on my body. When I was young I was never heavy, the weight has crept up on me! My heaviest was 218, in August of 2007. I am down to 187, some of the weight loss was due to having lipo and a tummy tuck for my baby belly. I am 5' 1" and my bmi is 35.3. I see my surgeon (Dr. Castro) on Friday to schedule my surgery date, whoo hoo!! I know that I dont have as much weight to loose as some, but I have a family history of obeisty and heart problems. My mother had her first heart attack at 58. I want to do this for so many reasons. I am self pay, but it will be so worth it! I want to be around for those grandbabies I know I will have one day:w00t: I hope for the best for all the bunnies on here! Lets do this! Dee

Post-Goal Weight Anxiety.
TxMomof4 replied to jukebox81782's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Jessica, i am right there with you, but the one difference is that I am 42 years old. Be thankful that you have youth on your side! My biggest concern is my thighs. Even when I was "thin" I had thunder thighs, lol. Anyway, I have a good feeling that you will do great, just make sure you drink your Water. This helps. I am not sure of my exact date yet, but I see my surgeon on Friday!! I am sooo stoked. Hopefully we will nail down a date. My biggest reward will be not to be the biggest person at a party or dinner. I have always felt ashamed in these situations, like I am an embarrassment to my husband. There are alot of social functions that we attend, I want to be his "trophey wife"! I want to feel as sexy on the outside as I do on the inside!! Well, keep us posted as to how you are doing, I want to be there for you! D:rolleyes2: -
WTG Suz! I am so happy for you! Where do you live and who is your doc? I bet you are so excited! Wonder why they have you eating like that a month out? All these docs are so different, kinda gets confusing! Anyway, congratulations and i pray all goes well for you! D:redface:

TxMomof4 replied to Losing_It_In_Texas's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

Hello fellow Texans, I had my consult today with TLC Edge, met Cynthia. Love her! I think I have decided to go with Dr. Castro. I am very thankful to all of you that have posted about your experience with TLC. I hope that I have as much success as all of you have :w00t: Deanna
