I was banded on Thursday August 20, 2009. I keep belching and belching and it is painful. I assume this is normal as the nurse knew about it and just said go ahead and belch. Is there anything that will help this. Has anyone else had this problem? When will I feel good again?

:rolleyes:I had lap band on 8/20/2009. I need a mentor. I love hearing everyones story and reading the threads but sometimes I just need a quick answer that I cannot seem to find. (Not the best on computer). I am 55 years old. 5'7 tall and started 260#. Been fat all my life, a food addict. It WIS (is and trying to be a was) my whole life. Since my decision to have the lap band I think food 24/7. (Same as anytime I dieted). I admire all of you for getting to where you are. I am sure the journey has been hard. Thank you for your help. What is muscle milk? Where did you get it? Is is equavilent to Unjury Protein Powder? Cake batter sounds yummy.

Thank you ever so much. I worry that I am doing something wrong. I will try the gas x. Have you started to have controllable Bowel movements yet. My are liquid with a lot of force (gas) behind it. Sorry if this is too descriptive. Thanks again, cjjrn

I had mine on the 20th also. But I am not feeling as great as you. My abdomen is very distended. I am very gassy from both ends. A girlfriend of mine didn't have this problem either. But the nurse at the hospital said it was normal. I am about your age. Keep in touch! -
WOW How much did you lose? Did you have plastic after you lost the weight? Tell me all the exciting things. I am scheduled to have the lapband this Thursday 8/20/2009. Thank you. cjjrn -
My surgery is scheduled for Thursday. I am so nervous. Thank you for the encouragement. I have failed at ALL attempts at losing weight and Keeping it off.....I am horrified of failing at this too.

Well BigAli I have been reading post/threads and see you were to have your lap band on 6/22/09 and you are 55 yrs. old. I too am 55 years old. I don't have a date yet for the band (Ibelieve my MD does the Realize band) but have done the 6 mth, psych, nutrition, nurse evals and lab work. Now I guess waiting on Insurance approval.
But enough about me. How are you doing since the band. I am so excited to hear someone who is newly banded while it is fresh on their mind. I am not sure how this site works, but hope to hear from you soon.

Hello. I am wanting to have the Lapband. Have had seminar, psych, nutrition, 6 mths waiting, now waiting.... I am 55 and 260" 41 BMI. Have been "heavy" all my life. Just tired of carrying the extra load. Everything hurts. I am sure none of you have heard that before huh? But one of the things I am scared to death about is that hanging skin. I saw a picture of someone that looked worse after the Lapband than before due to the hanging skin. I don't want to get my hopes up about looking better if that is not going to happen due to hanging rolls of skin everywhere. Any input/feedback would be appreciated. Anxious in Indiana. The baggy pantie thing is so funny. I cannot have my surgery until after June (6 months insurance thing). I had to order a couple of pair of new panties, they came in mail today. I opened the package and said "Man, these are HUGE, well, I don't need to go any further, I don't think. . . I will be sooooooooo glad when my panties are baggy. I know I have a long way to go. I appreciate all of your stories and affirmation that I am doing the right thing. 265/?? 5'7" Congrats to all of you. May your panties forever bag!!:cursing:
