  1. Happy 42nd Birthday glow!

  2. Hi. I had lapband surgery 6 yrs ago. I lost approx 80 lbs & have not had a "fill" in 3 yrs. However, I finally got an adjustment yesterday. I only gained 5 lbs in 3 years & my Dr thought it was great. I still had some restriction thats why I waited so long for an adjustment. Ok, the Dr said my band took alot of cc's, however, I do not feel very restricted. In fact, I don't feel any more restricted than before the fill. In the past, I had trouble even with soft foods for a few days. Has anyone had this problem (if it even is a problem)? Could proper restriction kick in later? Doc was leaving town this week so I can't call him. Thanks...........I hate to think I paid for nothing!

My mistake, Dave! But 48 lbs is still a good amount. Julie, I think you'll be surprised with the weight loss after you're adjusted properly. Keep the faith!!!!

Julie, 48 lbs since March is not bad! The lapband (at least my opinion) is a learning experience. It's trial & error till you find the right balance. It's a good idea to have some saline removed if your having such problems. But, keep the faith & you will be very happy you did! Like I said before, this was the best decision I ever made.

I'm sorry that you're having problems. Could you be eating the wrong foods because they go down better? I had that problem - I was tired of solids getting stuck so I started eating softer, higher calorie foods (milkshakes, ice cream, pudding, etc) & I wondered why I wasn't losing faster. After I really faced the situation, I started eating better & I began losing again. I'm 5 years out, lost 85 pounds, need to lose about 20 more & I will! Good luck!! This band is a lifesaver!
  6. I am 5 years out - lost 85 pounds but need to lose about 20 more. OMG, I did not know the reason for sliming was to help something stuck slide thru - I just thought that the saliva had no where to go but out the mouth! Anyway, even after 5 years I still slime (not as often & it's usually my fault). I know there are some gross elements involved wit h the band but it's still the best decision I ever made. I have not had a "fill" for 3 years & I'm still tight enough to limit my intake of food!
