Champaign Illinois Anyone? Central area?

I start my pre-op diet tomorrow with surgery on the 20th. I found this site hoping for more support. I tried to go to the CU area support group but it seems like they were only bypass patients or majority wise it is. I am having Dr. R do mine but I know the Dr. at Carle is starting to do lap bands so maybe the support group would be a good balance. Any advice you girls have that I haven't heard already?
