did you feel any resistance when on full liquids?
gamyj replied to rabbitt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
hi rabbitt, I am a stay at home mom with a 19 month old son to care for during the day. My husband took a week off when i had my surgery, and i have to say it wasn't enough for me. i still cant lift the baby, and have alot of fatigue. i do notice i do feel much better ie.. lightheadedness gone. i would say two weeks should be fine so long as u don't have to do anything too strenuous. But everyone heals differently, you could be great in a few days! I wish u lots of luck, if u need any questions answered feel free to ask away!! amy -
Why can I eat so much!!!!
gamyj replied to fatgirlinNY's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
alot of people feel no restriction before they get fills. it is totally normal. i happen to have restriction without having had a fill. i am 2 weeks post op and i can only eat 1/2 cup of food at a time, if i eat more i feel ill. don't worry once u get ur fill (or a few fills) you'll have the restriction you'll need. good luck, amy -
good luck on ur journeY !!!

Advice needed please...
gamyj replied to TwilightLover83's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
im on the mushies phase and i eat whatever, as long as i can throw it into thw magic bullet. things look a little gross, but everything tastes good! i also can only eat 1/2 cup of food at a time, so eating probably won't be the focus for this years easter. good luck! amy -
did you feel any resistance when on full liquids?
gamyj replied to rabbitt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i didn't feel restriction so much with the liquids, but now im on mushies i have quite a bit of restriction. I can eat 1/2 cup of food and be satisfied, but i tried to eat 3/4 cup and i felt ill, i was way too full. i had to walk until the gross feeling passed. i eat every 2-3 hours and i feel good now, the lightheadedness finally has gone away!! amy -
my pain wasn't bad at all. i had moments where pain was a little more , but most pain was from sudden movements, bending or trying to pick something up that I shouldn't. my port is still a little bit sore (just a tiny bit) and i am 2 weeks out from surgery. my biggest issue wasn't pain, it was fatigue. i was so exhausted all the time, and still am much more tired than normal, but little by little im getting my stamina back. Just remember that everyone heals at different rates, has different pain tolerances. it definitly was not bad at all. i wish u lost of luck! amy

cigna was a nightmare for me... they too kept giving me and the surgens office the run around... my surgens office sent the same info to them at least half a dozen times.. the kept "not receiving" things ... finally i called and talked to a manager, and basically called every few days until i got approved. it was the biggest pain in the ass ever!!!! good luck with everything and stay on top of cigna!!!

Anyone already banded with kids in cribs
gamyj replied to comtemplating's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
i have a 19 month old, luckily my husband took a week off after my surgery, i would not have been able to lift my baby the first week. I am 2 weeks out of surgery and can barely lift him. I let him take naps on the couch that he is able to climb up on himself. Luckily my husband or daughter pick him in and out of the crib in the morning and evening. If its possible i would try to find someone to help u the first week or two if possible. i know physically i would not have been able to do it without help. good luck, and if have any other questions please feel fee to ask me! amy
