I bought the body bugg last year. I have decided to get it going tomorrow. I just have to get my membership up and running. It is a great program which takes out all the guesswork.

My son was diagnosed with his hearing loss within 48 hours of his birth. We knew from the beginning. He was about 10 weeks premature and was also a twin. I was careflighted to Salt Lake City, Utah to give birth. Apparently it is the law in Utah to test newborns hearing. I guess that law had been passed a couple years earlier. I was shocked that they tested for that and even more shocked when I found out he was deaf. When he got to come home a few months later the Nevada Early Intervention program started coming to my house a few times a month until he was 3 years old to help with his speech/communication development. Now we are waiting to hear back from the school district for further help. He is doing pretty good though we think. And he is very happy.

I have the first two seasons of the Dave Chapelle Show uncensored on DVD. I had never seen the show until I bought those DVD's. It is hysterical and I wish he would have continued with more seasons. In the second season, there is a guy on that show named Bill Burr. He is a comedian from New York. He is often on the Opie and Anthony show on XM Satellite Radio. I think he is the only white guy on that show. He has bright red hair and freckles. He also has a 1/2 hour stand up show on HBO. I would recommend you see it. I think you will like that too. Opie and Anthony are very similar to Howard Stern. In fact they are big time rivals that HATE eachother.

I was told by my surgeon not to drink soda ever again after surgery. He told me it is not a matter of what kind you drink ie: diet/caffiene free/regular it is not the sugar or lack thereof. It is the carbonation that is the bad thing. Every doctor is different. But when I hear just ONE doctor say the carbonation may possibly stretch my pouch. I'm not gonna drink it. I had surgery August 1, 2006. The last soda I drank was three weeks earlier on the 4th of July. I figured I would try to see if I could go three weeks before surgery without it. If I couldn't make the three weeks, then I thought there might possibly be no point in having surgery. It was fine and I never looked back. I did however have a sip of my daughter's diet dr.pepper about 7 months post-op. It was such a horrible feeling I have never craved it since. It made my chest hurt so bad. It took like ten minutres for the feeling to go away.

Well that just goes to prove my other point. People have different senses of humor. I thought this movie was hysterical. I loved it. All of Sacha's characters that I have seen him play (Borat, Ali G, racecar driver in Talladega nights) have made me laugh. It is hard to beleive all those people are being played by the same person. This on the other hand does not make me laugh and sounds pretty awful. This goes beyong someone just saying something rude/offensive to someone else. This ass spit on your grandfather. That is assault.

Julie- the only word that comes to mind is WOW. You are truly an inspiration.

I don't think 72 lbs is unrealistic either. I am 8.5 months post op and I have lost almost 92 lbs.

BORAT WAS THE BEST!!!! So funny that you say the thing about teenage boys. My husband told me last week that have the sense of humor of a 14 year old boy. Tasteless comedies is my thing too. You ever seen those movies that are dubbed "dark comedies" ? The best one I ever saw was called Very Bad Things. It has Christian Slater, Cameron Diaz, Jeremy Piven, Daniel Stern, and numerous other great actors. If you like tasteless comedies you will love that movie I think.

I was banded August 1st 2006. The same month I knew I had to start working out in order for my band to be successful. I decided I was gonna start running. Because I was so overweight, so unfit, and so out of practice, I thought 2 miles would be perfect for me (the beginner) and then I would work my way up. I do not know what on earth made me think I was going to be able to jog 2 miles. When I hit .8 of ONE mile. Didn't even get to one mile.....lol.......I seriously thought I was gonna have a heart attack. I was sweating from places I didn't even know existed anymore. I called my husband on the phone and made him stay on the phone with me until I caught my breath and in case I collapsed he could call 911 and send them to me. NO JOKE. That was what, 8-9 months ago????? Now I am jogging 5 miles (sometimes up to 5.4 miles) 21 days a month. I'm not saying it es easy. But I can do it in 45 minutes and I feel WONDERFUL afterwards. And trust me, I was not vigilant about sticking to the running especially the first two months. I never thought I would be going that far especially on a regular basis.

AZDutchGirl- Welcome to LBT. No matter what your first impressions were about this site. I know you will grow to love this site and all the support/knowledge this group of people can offer. No matter how many classes/websites I went to before my surgery, I learned more here than I ever did from those classes or even my own surgeon's office.

What's a Razzie? Is that the awards show that gives awards for the worst scenes and worst movies and such? I think the Jenny McCarthy movie won worst movie or something last year if that is the same thing.

Sheila- The only reason I am replying to your email here is because I made this a public thread and I want to tell you in front of everyone I do accept and appreciate your apology. I have to say I love that you stand by what you say and you don't let people persuade you into feeling what they feel. I think I did say something negative about Jesse Jackson and I didn't really mean to lump him in anything negative as I don't know as much as I probably should about him so I didn't want to say anything bad about him as I don't feel I have done enough research on him to be fair in any judgements good or bad that I might say about him. I stand by what I said about Al Sharpton. I also want to apolgoize if I said anything that crossed the line about YOU specfically and/or your character. No matter how angry I got at what was said by you or anyone else, I tried to keep a cool head and not attack your personal character which I probably did anyways and for that I do apologize. I also tried to remember that I was on here fighting for free speech whether it was offensive or not. I do think some things that were said, (and right now I am not necessarily just talking about you and me,) were over the top. But it is allowed to be said just the same, no matter how much it bothered me. Nothing I like to see more than a strong woman with a strong pride in who she is. I have two kids. A daughter who is going to be 11 and a son who is going to be 4. I have been married to my wonderful husband for 12 years this September. My daughter is exceptionally smart (not just saying this because I'm her mother) She was recently put in the "gifted and talented" program at school and is in college level reading comprehension, spelling, science, and vocabulary classes. My son is opposite in the fact that he is not as easy to handle as my daughter. He was born deaf (he has had a little hearing out of one ear since a surgery he had about a year and a half ago. He doesn't really talk much due to his hearing loss but he is saying the sentence "What the hell?" quite a bit lately. Clear as a bell too. We are just so happy that he is talking. Although we would rather that not be the what he chooses to say. He is very amusing though. We are in the process of really trying to clean up our mouths. It was really great talking to you too. I only remember getting spanked by my mom one time. I remember it was really hard not to laugh as it was very weak and didn't hurt. I would have rather been spanked by my mom than be grounded from hanging out with my friends any day.

I am 5 foot 2. It's so funny that you say that about your dad. YOu definatley don't want to say your dad could possibly be my dad. My father was very abusive to us and our mother and he is the reason we live in the United States because we escaped here to get away from him. He has also had (don't quote me on this number) around 9 other kids by another 5 women I have heard. My brother and I are the oldest. Last I knew of him we were testifying against him in court right before my brother got cancer and he was sent to prison shortly there after at Ft. Leavenworth Prison. I'm sure he is out by now but I don't know. I always wonder what happened to him.

I do know one thing. If I ever would have said the "n" word or or spic, or anything like that in in front of my mother, I would have probably been picking myself up off the floor. She was a bit too strict in my opinion, We were not even allowed to say the word "crap". She did not tolerate disrespect in any way. If someone asked us a question, no matter who it was, we had to answer in a respectful way. For instance If someone asked me or my brother if we had a good day in school and we said "yeah" we got in trouble. We had to answer "yes" or "no" or "yes maam" or "yes sir". "yeah" or "nah" were not acceptable words. I always thought that was too strict but as a mother now, I do think it sounds awful when my daughter says "yeah".

I don't remember my mom calling us this outside of our little family circle. She may have and I don't remember, I don't remember anyone being offended if she did. To be honeset with you I don't remember anything but love when it came to my mother. Well, love and sacrifice. I don't think there is anything wrong with you shuddering when you hear that. You cannot help the way you feel. I'm sure a lot of people would feel the same way you do.

There was a guy on my crew (who was actually killed a few months ago in a mining accident involving only a six foot fall) who was always calling me myrish. He would say it so fast that I never knew what he was calling me and I didn't get it (plus it is super loud in the mine, hard to hear people.) It wasn't till last week that somebody told me he was calling me that as a cross between the words mexican irish. Doy , I didn't get it. No point in me saying that story except when I found out what he was calling me it did make me chuckle a bit. I'm starting to wonder if I'm SUPPOSED to get mad at that kind of thing. I find myself asking the question, Am I wrong to not be mad at that?

It is very un-nerving to me that someone who's got such a beautiful face seems very mean and intolerant. (notice I said the word "seems". I don't think you can completely judge someone's character based on what a message board says.)

I'm not trying to convince anybody to agree with me. I think out of everyone on this thread, I'm the main one fighting for all of us to have the freedom to not only have our own opinions but be able to state them. I had no intentions of "throwing my mom into this mess". How my mom got into this was I referred to myself as a mexi-mutt and when asked why I would do such a thing, I answered honestly by saying that my mom used to call my brother and I that when we were growing up. Also, it was in a very non-mean way. Then my mother was accused of being not only a bad mother but was also compared to a rapist. Although that did bother me, it is the right of anyone to say that about my mother. I absolutely thought it was harsh and over the top but it is the right of everyone here to say what they want. It is also your right to attack me and my mental status. I do think you and some other people on this board are being quite mean to those who do not share your opinions. I find it funny that I'm accused of being awful by calling someone a half breed (which i have admitted numerous times was wrong) yet there is nothing wrong with comparing my mother to a rapist.
