I love you too Telly! :clap2:

A-HA! here is the thread I should have found before I started my own colon cleanse thread. I should spend more time reading. DOY!:nervous
-
wow, everyone has such great/strong opinions. I know one thing for sure, I'm going to do a colon cleanse prior to surgery (hopefully I will have the same results as you did as far as no gas after surgery). I will definately post here and tell ya'll how that went. Thanks to all.

I had my last visit with my surgeon before my surgery on my second day into my pre-op liquid diet. He told me then that they say "liquid diet" but if I wanted to have a small salad or some steamed vegetables and stayed under 1100 calories that would be okay. But, all doctors are different. Yours might say different. I have lost 5 pounds in 5 days.
-
if you are talking to me, I am doing the HMR 800 instead of the Optifast. I am 5 days into it. The first three days were the hardest. NOw I am not even drinking the amount I am supposed to. My legs ache from the malnutrition. I can't wait till I get the surgery and get on mushies. Never thought I'd say that.

I started this thread because I just wanted to ask about colon cleanse. I'm not sure who put it in my head, but I was asking people about the pre-op liquid diet. I needed to lose 10 pounds in 14 days and I didn't know if that was possible. So I was inquiring about some tips for some fast, temporary weight loss before surgery. Someone asked me if I had ever tried that. Not sure if that was you. So I started a new thread so I could get responses generated just for that particular subject. Was I wrong to do that? I'm not sure about "message board etiquette".
-
wow, what an overwhelming response to the thread I started. I think this was good. I mean that is what this website is all about right? Everyone throwing their two cents in. Please nobody apologize for what they write on here. Please nobody get offended. And please nobody state that they are correct and nobody else is. Seems everyone had good points and good things to contribute. Makes you look at it from all sides before choosing your own opinion.

we do have pharmacies. Im working graves all weekend so my bf said he want and talked to all the pharmacists and they don't know what he is talking about. some reason, i don't believe him. hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. seems like a very regular item for any chain store to have. wanna get something done, just gotta do it yourself I guess.
-
where can you buy these (any of these). I live in farely small town. There is no rite-aid. There is however, a Super Walmart, a K-mart, and a Savon drugs. Is it something the pharmacist sells over the counter? or do you just have to start going down the aisles and looking for yourself?

Am I the only one who has done this? I have to loose ten pounds by August 1st or they will not do my surgery. I have actually stayed the same. Am I sabotaging myself like I did on all those other diets. I start my liquid diet Monday but I'm sure I cannot loose ten pounds in 14 days. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas. I am do disappointed in myself.:cry

Anyone Using HMR Meal Replacements?
foodstampchamp replied to Drifter's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I am doing the HMR for my pre-op diet. Is it possible to lose 10 pounds in 14 days on that? I sure hope so, because I have not only NOT lost any weight since I got my surgery date a month ago, but I have actually gained a pound. :help: -

sabatoging my preop weight loss!

You guys are so right. I have done diets and stuck to them longer than two weeks. I think I'm just feeling sorry for myself. I'm not even going to wait until my liquid diet starts on monday, I'm going to sign off and take my big butt on a walk right now. I worked so hard just to get the "surgery date". Reading through my original post made me feel a little pathetic. Sheesh....I'm gonna make the decision to do the right thing. After all, it is up to me and no one else. Thanks girls and I will keep you posted. -
sabatoging my preop weight loss!
foodstampchamp replied to foodstampchamp's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So far that is what I had planned. Just excerise my buns off and stick to my liquid diet without cheating. I have been working towards this for four years. WHAT AM I THINKING!!!! -
you have come to the right place! This site has answered more questions for me in the last couple months, than my 4 years worth of research of gastric bypass vs. lap-band. Good luck girl!

I am definately in the same boat you are. My surgery is just days after yours. I also have a 2 1/2 year old running around and am worried about my energy after surgery. I also realize that I don't have much energy now, before surgery, because of my weight. I am definately interested in how you do after surgery because our dates are so close together. Good luck to you. I am excited for you also. I would like to keep in touch as we will be going through the same things surgery wise, date wise, and toddler wise. Keep in touch. -
Congrats On The First Day Of The Rest Of Your Life. Good Luck!
