I wish I knew how to start a poll. I think this would be an interesting poll. Something like, Yes I deserve a discount at rest. because I had WLS. or NO, I don't deserve one.
-
I threw my card away when I got it. I feel the same as someone earlier on this thread. I don't want special treatment just because I had WLS. If price is an issue to me I will just stay home and eat as that is always cheaper than going out to eat. My 2 1/2 year old son always gets a meal off the children's menu and rarely ever eats hardly any of it. But I don't think I should get a discount because of what he did or did not eat.

How long after surgery before returning to work?
foodstampchamp replied to cl_tx_42's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I took 3 weeks off because I had vacation to burn. But I could have gone back fully in 7 days no problem. I could have gone back in probably 4 days but uncomfortable. -
I've been mixing my Protein Shakes with light vanilla soy. very tasty.

Amazing how different news broadcasts have different information. I heard that John Ramsey had not idea who John Karr is. Of course, I heard that on my local news.

grilled cheese sandwhich dipped into piping hot tomoto soup is my FAVORITE comfort food. Even over french fries. And I love me some french fries.

I had the same feeling for about 7 days post-op. All is going away with reduction of swelling from the surgery.

You can do atkins WITHOUT having a diet full of bacon. My friend did atkins and lost 60 lbs but I feel that there is a somewhat healthy way and a very unhealthy way to do atkins. She lost weight by eating more than a pound of bacon a day, but I don't eat bacon or things like that. I try and get my carbs from lettuce. I also read in the Atkins book that if you try and do less than 20 carbs that might keep you from losing weight. And you do have to start re-introducing carbs. 20 carbs is just he induction phase.

mmmm, now I wished I lived near a Carl's Jr.:hungry: -
my first job was when I was just 1 week out of high school and it was cleaning the toilets of the gold mine that I am now the open pit maintenance coordinator at. I did that pleasureable job for two years.

wow, I didn't even know they had different size ports. Does the size of the port relate to the size of your band? And what are the benefits/downfalls?
-
Everyone is different. I would recommend really following your dr.'s instructions and not pushing it. Although following your doc's instructions is a good rule of thumb in any case.

That is soooo great Magical Me! I can't wait for the day when I am laying on my back in the tub and my back fat doesn't create a suction so I have to tilt my body so I can get up! LOL. I wished I was joking about that! LOL

did you have any restriction after you were banded? And also, how much restriction did you have after your first fill? Also about how many calories a day are you eating and what kind of exercise. Not trying to be nosy, just curious. You are doing so great! -
I am jogging 3 miles. And I do mean a very slow jog as I'm very out of shape. and doing the bow flex reistance training. ie: curls, lateral pull downs, bench press.
-
8/12 3 mile jog upper body resistance training ( I need to be doing upper body twice a week and lower body twice a week)
-
8/13 60 minutes of swimming. ie: doggy paddle and breast stroke.

OMG!!! I too have ordered the two soda's so it looked like I wasn't ordering this all for me. Find the nearest gas station to throw my wrappers away so no one would notice. My husband told me today that he had seen a large number of fast food wrappers in my truck on occassion but thought that was the result of me bieng a slob over the course of a few weeks and just forgetting to toss them out. He said he was shocked to learn that it was over the course of 20 minutes! I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem. I feel more normal now. -
newbe here..quick questions

I have gone #2 only once in ten days. I'm curious about that too. -
I had HORRIBLE depression 4th, 5th, and 6th day post op. I was feeling so low I couldn't stop crying when I was alone. My friend attributes it to the sudden stop in junk food. Like most addicts, (which I think we are) when you stop the drug of choice (in this case food) you experience lows, and I think she was absolutely correct. That is just me though. But I think it could be that. Mine was anyways. Could be a number of things.

Weird question following fill
foodstampchamp replied to beachgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have only been banded for about 10 days but i too am not getting much sleep without ambien. And even then, I am up every couple hours. I so far am just attributing it to the fact that I am still off work. (not because of medical necessity, just because I had 3 weeks to burn) I feel like I'm just getting anxious. But after listening to you guys, I'm wondering if it is the band. We will see, I go back to work August 18th and it is back to bieng away from home for 16 hours a day. If I don't get tired, then I KNOW it will be the band.
