okay so new information...i just went to the bathroom...and just being stupid after i went to the restroom i weighed myself again...and i lost 1lb! I don't know...i'm so confused lol!

Hello I had my surgery on Monday the 6th of April and I was wondering about how long will it take for me to feel normal? It seems to me that I am recovering well, but I still don't feel "normal"! How long do the incisions take to heal? How long should I feel like just sitting around the house? So the main question is when does it stop hurting?? (not that I'm in extreme pain) it's just that I have school this coming monday and I'm wondering if I will feel like going?

Just wanted to update everyone. I am officially one week out of surgery and I am starting to feel somewhat normal lol! I didn't go back to school today, although I am under orders from the surgeon not to go back to work or school until our 2weeks post-op meeting. However, I will be going back on Wednesday.

ur nutritionist is CRAZY...everything in moderation i say...if you can handle bread..why not eat a piece? If you can handle pizza why not have ONE slice? good luck...don't feel guilty...you should reward yourself every now and then!

heyy everyone sooo tomorrow will be my LAST day of my pre-op liquid diet (since I'm having surgery on monday @ 7:30 AM)! I'm really hating this diet..I have been drinking New Whey Liquid Protien 42 (in fruit punch)...I can safely say that shit is the worst stuff I have ever tasted! Anyways, so in this liquid diet phase has anyone else just felt completely shity (aside from being hungry), like having headaches, feeling like ur burning up all the time, or constantly tired (like no joke it has been hell trying to keep my eyes open these past couple days)? soo has anyone else experienced this....I wanna know if this is normal

when I change the gauze I only have one or two drops of blood, & I had surgery on Monday the 7th of April!

am I not supposed to have gauze on my incision? It's not really bleeding that much, but I was wondering am I hindering the healing process having a gauze pad over the large incision?

Okay so I'm not really hungry, but ever since I was put in my recovery room I have had these crazy cravings for anything and everything! Obviously I haven't indulged my cravings, but I was wondering if anyone else experienced this!

so I have a headache, my surgery is on the 6th of April, and I was instructed not to take asprin (cause it thins the blood), so wat meds can I take?? I need to get rid of it! I know I should ask my doc but I didn't think of it! HELP!?!?!

I got banded on April 6th, not only am I a little hungry but I can't stop thinking of all the foods I will miss haha! I can't really figure out if I am hungry or if it's just gas pains! idk I guess I will see!! good luck to all

When you had some cake did it get stuck? did you have any problems getting it down? cause that is on my problem foods list...and I love cake..i think everything in moderation is okay! but i was just wondering! ( I just had my band put in yesterday) :thumbdown:

Heyy everyone I just had my Lap-band installed yesterday! They released me from the hospital this morning around 10:30AM! I am pretty sore & also very tired! I don't have any trouble walking around..and I don't seem to have much gas pain =]! the incision where my port is hurts the most..but it's bareable! Overall I had a good experience, and I'm happy to have it done! Although, I don't feel like it's actually in me (but it is)! Good Luck everyone...my journey begins =]!

I would take it the same way you did...I have self-esteem issues as well...but keep up the good work and don't let anyone bother you =]

thankss guyss...i'm feeling much better today..even though my dad is making me clean like crazyy ahhh oh well can't wait for tom. =]

The only people I told about my liquid diet at work...are the ones who know about my surgery! Don't tell them you are on a liquid diet and they won't ask why! the liquid diet is deff. harder than I expected...thank goodness this is my last day (being banded tom.)! Good Luck =]

p.s but I would have to agree it is prolly a withdrawl of sugar, caffiene, and carbs!! But I have lost 4lbs in 3days (I think they wanted me to lose about 5lbs & I think I should be able to do that)!

I had the headache for 2 days...It has finally gone away (hopefully it dosen't come back tonight)...tom. is my surgery =]

congrats and good luck...I'm having surgery this coming monday (4/6/09)!! =]...just for information sake...the liquid diet pre-op phase (if your doctor makes you do this) is HELL!! I will finish up my last day tom. and I'm so excited!

nopee it was deff. a hunger headache...as soon as i got some food(or rather some pudding *pre-op liquid diet phase*) in and some tylenol it pretty much went away! I'm sure it won't be my last one..i just started clear liquids today...yikes

Okay so I have heard that after band I can't take headache meds b/c it messes up the band! My problem is that I get headaches very often, so what am I supposed to take to get rid of the pain if I can't take asprin? Has anyone been told similar info? What kind of meds do you take? i don't know I'm just curious, but I guess the best thing to do would be to talk to my doc. (which I will, but I just wanted to see what everyone would say first).

here are some of the guidelines i have recieved: Carbs: 40-50/day Protein: 50-70/day Fat: 30-50/day and the calories...not specifically stated..but I know there is an amount that you must stay under to lose 1-2pounds a week (including exercise ofcourse)..and I will stay under that...seems fool proof to me..hopefully I wont skrew up haha

Everyone is different, some ppl can have breads and some can't. Soda is a huge NO NO from what i have heard from others and my doctor ( most say it hurts to much to drink, and even if it dosen't hurt it could possibly stretch out your pouch and hinder your progress). The band is just a tool, you still have to make these difficult choices the band will not make them for you. Some ppl that have the band and still make these choices (the ones who weren't ready for the commitment), and they are rarely sucessful! Good Luck...I hope this helps!
