Thanks for the response...so was Dr Mario Almanza your surgeon? How easy/difficult is it to lose the weight (I've heard horror stories about people gaining weight cuz they kept eating poorly)? Have you hear anything bad about this location/doctor? How close are you to your goal.

A little about me: I'm about 80 pounds overweight, I'm 38 years old and want to get the surgery, but since the procedure is out of pocket, I want to be sure that it'll be worth it...also, considered Mexico since it's cheap and I use to run across the border for doctor's visits when I was taking college classes back in the day. My main concern at this time is all the stories I'm starting to hear about people gaining the weight back...I don't have a ton of weight to lose but I'd be crushed if this procedure didn't work out.

Hi....yes I got my surgery in Tijuana March 2009. I have lost 50 pounds. I have had a positive experience with the surgeons and Ms. Sherley (the mediator between U.S and mexico) If you have any specific questions please email me and ask. I'd do it over a million times over.

I read your post that says you had the lapband procedure by Dr Mario Almanza in Tijuana. I know you said that you liked the work he had done for you, however, it's approaching a year and I was wondering if you still felt the same about both him and the decision to have the surgery in Mexico.
