  1. Hey there, I've read up on the prodeedure and went to a lap-band siminar last night, but the doctor wasn't that big of a help & seemed to flip through the slide shows like the place was on fire. And he's supposed to be one of the better doctors in Kansas City, MO. (Where I live) I really just need people to talk to and give me info on how the surgery went, any complications, how long before getting back to normal activity, etc. If you can fill me in a bit, I'd be most grateful. I hope to meet some new, friendly people on here that are going through the same thing as me. ~BabyBluez1982:confused:

  3. POST 1.

Hi, I'm in Kansas City also and was curious which doctor did your Fundoplication/lap-band surgey? I had a fundoplication done 12 yrs ago and since then, it has loosened up quite a bit. I'm sure it needs to be fixed or possibly a proceedure like what you had. In fact, just last night I went to the hospital for a lap-band siminar, to meet the doctor that would possibly be doing this proceedure, see slide shows and have discussion afterwards. My main question to him was, can I have the lap-band proceedure if I've had a fundoplication, he quickly answered, "no." I was very taken back by his reaction and concerned because I felt like my hope of weight loss was very quickly gone...continues on next post....

  4. POST 2.

He had told me that the only people he knew of that would perform a weight loss proceedure, for me, in my situation, were two doctors in Columbia, Missouri, a 2 hr. drive away. He also told me that the lap-band would be out of the question, that they'd have to do a gasric bypass instead. The problem is, I don't want such an elaborate surgery, I was even hesitant about the lap-band at first. Not to mention, everytime I need to go to appointment, adjustments and to have the surgery itself, I'd have to drive 2 hrs away, each time, thats rediculous. I guess what I'm getting at here, is I'm hoping to find a doctor in Kansas City area to look at my situation and hopefully perform the surgery for me. This is why I was curious who you had went to and maybe they could help me by doing the fundoplication/lap-band surgery for me as well....continues to next post....

  5. POST3.

I'd really like to hear back from you. I feel like I have no one to talk to about my situation, then I found your post. I'd love some info on the doctor and what hospital. I'd be most gracious. Thanks for taking time to read this, I appreciate it.
