Poodles - you are proof positive that the band works diferently for every person. I may not be the smartest person on this planet, but one thing I do know, if you keep your feet moving, you'll eventually end on the right path. YGG! Had a colonoscopy today. All is well, but man - the new prep is a bit easier on prep day - but lingers much longer. I'm staying close to home with my running shoes on! . When my Grandmother was about my age, she wore a wig, hearing aid, false teeth and glasses. My Grandfather joked that he didn't know "whether to go to bed with Momma or sit up with all her stuff"!

Regina - Thanks for posting and congrats on the successful procedure and good news! We moved to year 2 and it is time to "get on with it". Part of the acid reflux problems I'm having are due to my neglecting H20. Barbara12 I found a new magazine on women's health. It's called HEALTH and the website is Health.com. I read May's issue in doc's office. The first issue mailed to me was appropriately JUNE and it's been great also.

Back from surgicenter and the news was all good. I was convinced I had a slipped band. Band in perfect verticle position, absolutely no pouch dilation. They think I had a virus picked up on the plane ride back from Vegas? I'm very "open" and opted not to go for an unfill. I am very relieved! (I have instructions and a copy of xray in case I do need an unfill) Thought about you off and on today Regina. Many prayers going your way. Congrats on onederland Tricia and Beachee. Good to hear from you again. Beachee - you look amazing! Bama - congrats on your surgery. All the best to you as you begin your journey.

I'm still laughing over the pics. Thanks Mary and Barb for posting. I don't remember posing for some of those (especially the parrot hat pic). Must have been the protein drinks. DH wasn't too impressed with the pic of my "arrest". Ooops! He did take the glamour pic to work. Thanks guys for a wonderful time. I'll never forget it. Good luck Barbara4 and Melissa on the fills. My luck held out on the trip home. Sat across from Bill Biezza (newscaster in Houston). Man is he cute in person. Helped me with my carryon!

Thanks Lisa - Back from Vegas and ready to start another year with the band. It was amazingly funny! We have pictures and that's all I'm staying. there is no doubt I am the one who would like for some things to "stay in Vegas". DH calls Vegas an amusement park for adults and that's about how it went. We came to have fun and man did we! We also saw Celine's show - a performance to remember! There is no doubt that we should do this again.

I'm also searching for a way to get "back on track" without doing another fill. I've thought about all sorts of things. Guess a fill might not be such a bad idea if I can just remember to follow instructions !!! We'll look for a way to log in while we're in Vegas. Positive thoughts to Lucymann!

This new edit thing is scarey!!! Barbara4 - Thanks for the reminder on the pics. I'm packing anything that glitters and doesn't wrinkle in my closet!!! The sexy shoes have to stay home. I twisted someting in my foot yesterday. It's fine today, but I took it as a warning. I asked my hairdresser for a "few" highlights today. Gals, look for a lot of blond in this dark head of mine. DH liked it, and teased me about going to Vegas as a blond. Regina - What a transformation! I thought the 2003 pic of you might be a current one of your Mom b4 I read the post! You definitely don't look fat. Viva Las Vegas is right Barbara12! Socalgal I'm guessing no news is good news on the fill Monday?

Way to go Lisa. Exercise is great for anyone. My Mom and Dad are 78 and 83. The oldest male and female at our family reunion and they ran circles around my other aunts and uncles there. They walk at the local mall 3 - 4 times a week (used to walk every day so fast I could barely keep up). Mom has feet problems and my Dad has knee problems and is a disabled vet. When I look at them I know DH and I have no excuse. (we meant to walk last night and just got busy napping in front of the TV, hah!) I pulled out my clothes to wear to Vegas yesterday. I have to say packing for a trip is so much fun this year! No worries about fitting into an outfit, or an airline seat.

Lisa - I will enjoy and I have!!! I'll post pictures when I can. Regina - Sounds great! I have relatives in your area. Do you have any dates in mind? I know what you mean about gaining weight. These five pounds have me feeling fat too! Do you have any restriciton at all?

My computer is crawling (again). I'm also ready to have fun Socalgal! Hope that fill is going well. Poodles - you sound determined. I'd like to know if that plan keeps you away from the mid-afternoon slumps? I'm actually having my house professionally cleaned. It was the best $75 I've spent in months. Gave me the drive the clean up and toss out lots of unnecessaries. Wish I could justify having them more often. Why is it housework never gets done unless there is a deadline of some sort? DS is officially moving in with his girlfriend and her 3 children this weekend (I hope they become my grandchildren someday - I'm claiming them anyway). I am very proud of his willingness to take on the responsibility. He's now nagging them to do the things I naggedhim about such a few short months ago. Another new project to keep me away from the fridge - our house is now 2 (plus) years old. I never did decorate or organize the spare bedrooms. Fun, fun!

My Mom tried it. She lost 6 pounds and then went back to the old ways. She actually shared the first 2 cd's she was to listen to. I'll bring them to Vegas. It's a valid choice, but probably not necessary to buy a big package. Mom spent several thousand. A former neighbor went to someone in her church and she lost 40 and kept it off. After her 2 sessions, she dreamt she got off a train with 2 heavy suitcases. She set down the suitcases and walked away. From that day forward she began making changes toward better health. If you can find someone who has good references, I'd say go for it!

So Junebies - I read this thread this a.m. and it fit my profile. It's worth the read. Sorry I don't know how to post a link to this one. <TABLE class=tborder id=post361347 cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=6 width="100%" align=center border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=thead style="BORDER-RIGHT: #e9e9e9 0px solid; BORDER-TOP: #e9e9e9 1px solid; FONT-WEIGHT: normal; BORDER-LEFT: #e9e9e9 1px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: #e9e9e9 1px solid"><!-- / status icon and date --> </TD><TD class=thead style="BORDER-RIGHT: #e9e9e9 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: #e9e9e9 1px solid; FONT-WEIGHT: normal; BORDER-LEFT: #e9e9e9 0px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: #e9e9e9 1px solid" align=right>#1 (permalink) </TD></TR><TR vAlign=top><TD class=alt2 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #e9e9e9 1px solid; BORDER-TOP: #e9e9e9 0px solid; BORDER-LEFT: #e9e9e9 1px solid; BORDER-BOTTOM: #e9e9e9 0px solid" width=175><!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->HamuChan<!-- google_ad_section_end --><SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_361347", true); </SCRIPT> Registered User Join Date: May 2005 Age: 28 Posts: 112 </TD><TD class=alt1 id=td_post_361347 style="BORDER-RIGHT: #e9e9e9 1px solid"><!-- icon and title --><!-- google_ad_section_start -->Regained weight, scared, need support <!-- google_ad_section_end --> <HR style="COLOR: #e9e9e9" SIZE=1><!-- / icon and title --><!-- message --><!-- google_ad_section_start -->There I was on top of the world. Then I kinda just stopped weighing and ate what I wanted for the past 6 months. I knew I had gained some weight when I noticed a few pairs of pants fitting snugly. Then....my husband mentioned it...He may as well have stabbed me in the heart with a flaming dagger. I was crying and upset, boy did he feel stupid. I refuse to change my weight on my profile because I will have this weight off in a month. I SWEAR. I am up about 18 pounds. Today me and my husband joined a gym and I worked out for the first time since I got my band. It actually felt really good and I have my work out bag all packed for tomorrow. I am going to go every single day until I get to goal weight. I just can't let the weekend spoil me. NO WAY. I am so depressed guys. Why have I gone through all this just to gain weight? And it's TOTALLY my fault. I was drinking beer all the time (like 5 times a week) eating chocolate, ice cream, eating lots of mushy stuff, Jack in the Box tacos, Taco Bell, "eating around the band," and pretty much sitting in my recliner whenever I am home from work. </TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE>This is a partial of her original post.
  15. What a great thread! I am so "there". I've been within 5 pounds of my current weight since January. Got a new resolve in March and got down to 183. Back up to 188.5. With the "insights" I've gotten on this thread, I'll start again. I'm 29 pounds from the goal weight my surgeon suggested.

Congrats everyone on their bandiversary. This year has been very different than what I thought it would be. Learning to live without constant snacking has been interesting and it has also been interesting to see how I can work around the band to get in an afternoon of "grazing". Gotta go - a 3 mile walk awaits in the "sauna" of Memorial Park in Houston, Texas.

Way to go Junebies. Cindy - you look absolutely amazing!!! Glad to hear from you again too. Barbara - you know how proud I am of all you've accomplished. Great pictures - but you look even better in person. Sigh - for my bandiversary I had to accept a four pound gain. It's been coming on, but I'm still claiming the lowest number. I know it'll be back. Poodles - The symptoms I'm having mimic those you've struggled with this entire year - tight and then not tight at all. This is tough and losing anything battling like this is a miracle. Gotta go. PB's are back with a vingence.

What a great bunch of friends and posts!!!! Stella - I've definitely slipped into a comfortable "bad for you food" habit - because I can. Ditto on "not wanting to lose the band". What about one more water challenge? No need to post or confess. Barbara4 and I shared some super nachos and a basket of chips a few days ago and LOL we congratulated ourselves on leaving some on the plate. Last year at this time, I would have eaten a bowl of chips and an entire order of nachos. Now it's half of that - plus we left some behind!!! I'm more worried about the volume of food I'm trying to consume rather than the choices. I feel a lot more guilty about the big bowl of gumbo I had last night. More healthy than the nachos, but somehow my band radar tells me if I can stick with small portions I'll have less problems. Yippeeee for our new life!!!!!!

Hi! Finally computer is up and running and no out of town trips! Poodles - I'll be praying for your brother! Congrats Melissa on looking fantastic. It is time to "get back at it". The scales still seem "friendly", but I put on my size 14 jeans and was surprised at the fit. I had been considering "downsizing" to a 12. Guess not. I'm eating all the wrong things and my exercise is down to a 20 minute eliptical. Guess the walking (DVD and with DD) are what does it for me. You guys inspire me.

In the past, I used food to lift my spirits. Now I self-indulge, but I like my new indulgences! a new flashy necklace in summer colors bottled water on the rocks in a wine glass a diet wine cooler a bubble bath a subscription to Health Magazine another pair of new shoes (after all I did lose a shoe size) a cup of hot mint tea Lots more fun than those cookies I caved in to! Anyone else have a new indulgence?

Janelle, Praying for your nephew that he will have the best of care and will heal quickly and properly. Socalgal - Have had some really tough days myself. I alternate between being too tight to eating an embarassing number of cookies (left over from fam reunion and then my recital). Today was new leaf day, but it looks as if tomorrow will have to do. I plan on getting back to the old challenge, journal, water and exercise. Good news - DD continues to do well. She's lost nearly 30 pounds since March 21. Recital went fantastic. After hosting more than 50 of these things, it was a gift from above. Barbara - thought lots about you and Dick. Poodles - Only we know what you've been through to hang in there. I admire your resolve.

Barbara, hope you got a good nights sleep. I was good yesterday, but my scale showed a 3 pound gain. (must be my past sins catching up with me) For some reason, my goals seem attainable this a.m. A lot has to do with the fact that I'm resetting my goal from 159 to 175. It's the weight my gyn wants to see before any surgery. Maintaining seems to be easy. Bouncing 3 - 4 pounds is so much better than my former self. A 15 pound loss might last 2 weeks once I quit my diet. I'm off to a busy weekend. Company, out of town fam reunion and then back in time to host a small recital in my home. Lots of fun stuff packed in to one weekend! Wish me luck!

Computer is finally up and running. Still a few gliches, but I'm relieved. I'm having afternoon munchies and plan on spending the afternoon at Walmart if I have to to avoid this new really stupid habit I'm forming. I'm not even hungry!!!! Thanks for the bday wishes. It was a great day.
