Yeah to Leila who amazingly beautiful--no matter what size. Love the highlights too. Had a great day restriction wise and remained careful. Carol--All I can say is--if you can possibly do without the fill--do so. Even one pound a week loss is better than being too tight. Even l/2 pound is better! Glad everyone is posting. It helps to be reminded of what can work! Last day for Water challenge. Thanks for Blue Ribbon Leila!

I say we make Big Girl Pantiez an honorary member!

I finally posted a loss at the "clubs". I think they're relatively "safe" now. I need that post. It's my way of going to a weigh-in and getting to weigh sans clothes. Honest--I would weigh my blouses and jeans before Weight watcher's each week--no jewelry, etc. Silly little games we play with the scale that have nothing to do with success! P.S.--I'm using a star on my permanent new sticker. I teach piano and I still use "stars" as incentives. They work. A student gets one star when they begin a piece--and 2 stars when they are finished. I don't know when I'll get that second star--but I'm not quitting.

Wow! The end of another day of changes for the Junebies. There has to be a "new normal" out there for us without all the problems. Poodles--I'm with you. I know there is a bit much restriction, but as soon as we go for an unfill, 2 weeks later we'll need another fill and start this all over again. It's maddening to think "finally able to eat without fear" to-- the first bite didn't make it. I'm not sure, but I would diagnose my problem as only a slight overfill. Barbara--so happy you didn't have slippage! Blended meats aren't so tasty, but very soothing and filling. Good luck. Congrats on the weight loss. I did find an organic cereal at Costco that has 9 grams of protein. It's pretty good even when I let it get mushy. Hope my scale starts to move again!

Good to hear from all of you. Poodles--All I can say is YEAH! Buying Tofu today. If you know a good brand our source--please inform us. Looks like all of us are similar, but no one is the same! Today is turning over a new leaf day for me. I've been acting like someone at goal on maintenance. TexasTerry, Chako Lady, BeacheeGirl, Carol134--good luck with your fills, etc. Keep us posted on your progress. Thanks for letting us know how you are. Barbara--Glad to know you're not "stuck". I think you're on the right track with mushies for your esophagus problems, I felt better last week (finally) after I began blending protein--even tuna. Not as tasty--but soothing.

Do you have a list of "no no" foods from your doc? Rice causes most people lots of problems. Eating very small bites slowly is the best way to avoid pb's. My mini quisinart (cost less than $30) chops onions and other "scarry" foods very fine. I just bought it saves me so much time chopping onions, etc.

Jon-- I pray your family feel God's presence in a very real way. I pray that the sweetest of memories sooth your pain. I thank God for this thread. Mousecrazy and many others--I join with you in praying this thread remain a place of comfort and peace. I join you in a resolve to try to be a help to others. I also want to thank God for LBT and all the wonderful "friends" I've met and invaluable information I've received.

Barbara-- Hope you're better! I pb'd on first bite Friday out with DH. Same problem today at lunch. Wonder if we're drinking so much cold water before meals that it's causing some type of restriction or mucous buildup? I usually try to gulp a cold water bottle before I sit down to eat. This evening I didn't drink anything prior--and no problems whatsoever. I had no problems on saturday either and I did not drink before eating. Maybe waiting to eat 5 minutes after drinking is a good thing? Let us hear from you. BGP-- How'd you get that user name? I have to admit, I used your name in a sort of joke with my daughter--was changing at her house and forgot clean panties--asked her for some "big girl panties" and she thought that was funny. My DH promised me a lot of money for a new wardrobe as long as I "threw out the frumpy clothes" and used a little of the money for some Nonfrumpy lingere. I would like to turn over a new leaf. I have a good calorie day and then two bad ones. Think I'll plan some menus for this week and see what that does for me. My 'Ooops" come from getting home late and rushing to make dinner.

Barbara: There is a yoga position. It looks kinda like a crab. Bend over from the waist. Touch your fingertips to the floor as far out as you can. The lodged piece should come right out. Good luck

The fear of not losing-- There is a scripture (I forget where) that states "That which you fear will come upon you". Another one is "As you think in your heart, so are you". God invented the power of positive thinking. Norman V Peale would agree with that one. There are some bandsters that are doing all the "right" things and yet the scale isn't moving. Can fear be making the scale "stick"? I'm praying today for all bandsters who feel a sense of failure that God will give them patience to perservere. Strength to exercise more, drink more water and eat more protein--add a snack if needed. I'm praying God will give them the wisdom to read the posts of successful bandsters and find a new solution to their problem. Atkins, Weight Watchers and even the soup diet can be adapted to the band. For me, I have to move--exercise and stay on the go. I just went 3 weeks after a fill with no weight lost. I was eating less, but not exercising and in general disgusted--but never allowed myself to fear success. This morning I saw a new number. Down one pound. I'm back in the game, baby! Please join me in praying that God will dissolve the fear of failure across this board

Two out of four Considering I woke up tired today--not so bad. I said no to road rage today several times--even though the other guy deserved it
-
Barbara I have the same problem--I finally decided that I would consider exercise as part of my daily routine--like brushing my teeth. Sometimes I brush longer, but I always brush. I woke up tired today so exercise was not so energetic, but I got it done. Hurrah! I seem to be able to eat a little more without PB's. Maybe I'm just more careful, but it feels good to finish something! My favorite snack is mangos. And cheese--any kind will do. I started snacking after dinner--something I had given up since banding. I need to get back to no eating after dinner. Oh for the good old days of l - 2 pounds a week loss. I haven't seen a new number come up on the scale for almost a month. I've been seeing 212 off and on most of August. I'm beginning to wonder if there is a 210 on my scale.
-
Barbara-- The brocolli was steamed to smitherines.--flowers only. Sorry about that. I'm extra careful about what I eat when out since my last fill also. Any bite that doesn't chew up well, I spit out as unobstrusively as I can. I think the laughter and conversation with friends at restaurants can lead to a tighter band sometimes. I've got my blender revved up and I'm doing battle with the next ten pounds. I'm hoping losing with loosen the band--it did before. I'm frightened of PB's and golfballs too. No bite is worth the pain--but I still "test" the waters anyway sometimes. Good luck over the long weekend. I'm packing a cooler with some lofat cheese--just in case--we have several family parties this weekend.

Come to Houston--$1.00 Margarita Night everywhere you look.

Poodles-- Sounds like the junk food you are eating has a lot of fat--which may lubricate and thus goes down easier. Try adding some olive oil to the fish and make sure it's as soft and juicy as your last candy bar! I bought a mini cuisinart and have been blending my protein. It was cheap--$35. Maybe you are causing slight injury every time you eat low fat protein. What we do today to survive won't last. Next week, we'll have a different challenge. I thought I would find a system and be able to stick with it--too many variables to do that! Tension, a new fill, indigestion from a spicy meal, TOM, swelling--if my ankles are swollen from the heat, how about my tummy? There are some absolutes for me-- 1. Water and liquids all day 2. 1200 calories 3. Exercising and more activity in general (please don't get tired of me extolling Leslie sansone Walk Away the Pounds DVDs. Fit anyone's fitness level and I can do quite a bit of housework "high stepping" while I unload the dishwasher. 4. Veggies and fruit for snacks--steamed brocolli with Brummel and Brown fake butter--it was really good about 3:00 pm and my dogs loved the leftovers. 5. Healthy snacks available--my husband gets cooikies in his lunch each day because I send an entire unopened bag to work with him and he has to decide how many he can eat. When he's out--I buy another bag and keep it closed--I'm a cookie monster! I had a bit of over agressive fill--but it is manageable and I don't want to throw in the towel on this. I'm hoping to start losing again soon. I've seen 212. come up on my scale off and on for at least 3 weeks. Penni has an old "commitment" thread that has been re-activated--maybe you could find some help there. I have faith in you Poodles. You have spunk--gut this out and keep scratching till you find some answers. They are there.

If this post gets me to clean our office tomorrow--I'll owe you====something----what????? How about dinner your next trip to Houston?
-
Commitment--Can I join? PNut--I too have the luxury of lots of time--and accomplishing very little. I commit to cleaning out my office tomorrow. I commit to staying with mushies until I adjust to the new fill. (Thank God for that new mini-Quisinart) I commit to counting each calorie and stopping at 1200. I commit to more positive thinking--even in the car when road rage hits!
-
This is a nice safe place. I'm happy to be a Junebie. Barbara--Thanks for the advice. I can eat mushies or chewed to smitherines food--about l/2 cup. No problem with liquids and no problem in a.m. with an entire cup of whole grain cereal and milk (that's in addition to my lo-carb shake) I'm going to be extra careful for the next few weeks. I feel better each day and hope I loosen up soon. It is liveable and I would rather not repeat another fill (or unfill) with our new fill nurse "Poke and Search". Thanks for the reminder that a PB or golf ball can bring serious consequences and isn't just something to be "endured".
-
Please don't be shy or apologetic about posting your prayer requests. Most of us pray as we scroll. The commitment to reading and praying is so small and yet such a privilege. Thank you for the opportunity to "know" you better--to pray for your needs and be your friend through Christ. A great big hug to Teresita for posting a reminder of the reason for being Christians--we need Christ.

Current: 212.5 (-0 +0--and grateful it wasn't a gain) I had an agressive fill that has me revamping my personal "program". Fortunately, I'm back at exercising and gaining some stamina. Evidentally moving is what does it for me. I had a rule--no fill as long as I was losing 1 pound a week. A mini-vacation convinced me I could get out of control. Still lost 1 pound that week, but went for fill anyway. Lost only 1 pound since then. I should have recognized the "looseness" was due to my being relaxed and away from the grindstone. In the meatime, since life isn't a constant vacation--I'm blending most solids and watching the "rules" closely. Taking a wait and see attitude on a slight unfill--hoping to loosen up. Guess I'll go back to my old rule--if I lose 1 pound each week, I'll leave the fill alone.
