    psoriasis and lap band

Again, thanks for the replies, it is very helpful. I have heard that Enbrel is wonderful too!!! I am considering that as well, (I have been approved by insurance) I was thinking that I should tackle one issue at a time. If I get my weight under control.............who knows...........the possibilities are endless. Then I'll deal with the Enbrel. I am truly happy for you and your husband and I loved and can relate to the 'red scaly alligator' remark!!:welldone2: I wish him continued improvement, ENJOY!!!!!!!!!! As far as vaseline based treatments.......I know, they are awful!! As far as topical medicines which have shown me the best results ... Dovonex and ultavate. Just found a new over the counter lotion. "Aveno cream oil" I Highly recommend it as it is NOT oily, greasy. GOOD LUCK

    psoriasis and lap band

I'm not hoping for any changes, though my psoriasis may be more involved then those who posted. (I have coverage all over my stomach, which as you can imagine is quite a large area, or i wouldn't be having band, ( ha ha) I'm glad there have been no issues!!!!!!!!!!!

    Lap BAnd Surgeon or PCP

Who does everyone go to regarding any issues which arise from Lap band procedure? Surgeon or PCP?
  9. Ready to Lose

    silly question

This may seem silly to everyone who has already been banded, but here goes anyway!!! When doctors indicate that we should lose 50 - 60% of excess weight does that include the weight we lose before being banded ?(during 2 week liquid)
  10. Has anyone been banded in NC? If so, who was doctor? Can you share info? Thanks
  11. Has anyone been banded in N.C.? If so, who banded you?
  12. I am in the process of scheduling my pre-op's. I just keep wondering why I can't do this without the lap band. And if I can't do it now....... will I be able to do it after.!!!! Most of the time I do not eat out of hunger (I eat because it tastes GOOD!!) Was or is anyone in the same boat as me? Any feedback would be appreciated.

does anyone feel the same way?

Thank you all for your responses, whether you agreed with me, gave your opinion or lectured (lol) it REALLY is helpful to know that others feel the same way. It confirms that we are not alone in this

Does anyone out there have Cigna insurance & has recently been approved. I'm just wondering if there are any hidden surprizes?:cry
  15. If I know my band can't be put in place before January (need to follow 6 month diet and weigh in for insurance purporses), when should I start having all associated tests?
  16. Ready to Lose

    who set your goals?

This may seem like a silly question, but here it goes.......... Everyone has weights listed ... before band/now/goal. (I think thats how it is) Did everyone pick their personal goal? or did the Doctor. And also, do I need a different Dr. to do fills or will that be the surgeon? Thanks for any/all answers:cry

How much should I really expect to lose?

Thank you all for your posts. It is very helpful. When reading everyones different idea's and comments I can definitely relate to parts of each and everyone. I love the honest and willingness to share. It is great to know that the support is here. I hope to be an active memeber soon..........geralyn
  18. Hello everyone, this is my first time posting. I have just mailed in my paperwork to get any appointment with Dr. I know that I need this procedure done, (256lbs, 40 BMI, high blood pressure, diabetes) but I'm still nervous. Can I ask you guys why you chose Lap band over other procedures? And is it true they only expect me to lose 50% of my excess weight? So therefore they would be satisfied with me weighing @200lbs? Are you really not hungry? Generally speaking, I don't need to be hungry to eat!!!!!! What happens with that? Any help would be great.:cry
