I'm going on 3 weeks since the surgery and still experiencing some soarness/burning sensation around the port area. When I touch around the area I feel a burning sensation. Is anyone still experiencing this?

Thank you. Appreciate all of your responses. :smile2: -
I didn't meet with a Nutrisionist before or after my sugery. The office coordinator gave me lots of recepies and reading material. But I didn't find any information on how much I should eat or a schedule to follow. Dr said I could start eating tuna, cottage cheese and beans this weekend, just not sure how much. And do you continue drinking the protein drinks?

Thank you Gus Gus. Your and everyone else's response is very helpful.

I'm experiencing the same thing and the doctor told me the exact same thing as rockingmom. Muscles are healing. -
Banded last Thursday and already eating semi-solid food. What's wrong???
Munequita replied to kounthestarrz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They all are different. I had surgery on 3/14 and the doctor said I can start eating beans, tuna and cottage cheese. I just don't know how much of it I can it and if I continue the protein drinks. -
That is great debbie_7155. What part of your body did you start loosing most of your weight from? I don't like that my face has already thinned out. I don't want to start looking sick.

Help - Is This Pain Normal?
Munequita replied to soxaholic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It's a hand held breathing (not sure the correct name for it) thing that has a mouth piece you breath in to, its to make sure your lungs are clear. Mine has a :crying: and a . -
Help - Is This Pain Normal?
Munequita replied to soxaholic's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The pain I'm experiencing is on my lower back (left side). I lay down and it goes away. Keep using the breathing thing they gave you at the hospital, that seemed to hellp me too. -
Maryrose, thank you for posting that. I had something similar, but it was only 6 rules.

I'm going through the same thing. I was banded on 3/14 and have lost 15 lbs. I'm either too scared to drink too much or not enough. The coordinator said I have to be on liquids 1 month.

:frown:It's been four days since surgery. I've been getting these bad cough attacks. I get scared, I feel like the port is going to move out of place. Did anyone experience cough attacks after surgery? If yes, did the port stay in place?
-
Thank you all for your quick responses. I noticed the coughs would come after drinking the isopure powder mix protein drink (will try new drinks). It gets my throat really dry and can't stop coughing for a while. I will consult my surgeon/doc see what he says.

Banded on Friday the 13th
Munequita replied to mama jackie's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was banded on 3/14. I'm experiencing those gas pains too, but it helps to walk around the house. -

As stated previously, my date is set for 3/13. As the days get closer, the more scared and nervous I get. I keep telling myself that everything is going to be ok. Most of the stories I have read on this website are amazing and I too want to tell everyone about my journey.:confused:

Did anyone experience a panic attack before surgery? if yes, were they able to give you something to relax?:cursing:
-
Thank you WPA. I'm counting my days, but I too am afraid that I'm going to fail. After a year of being banded, you haven't experienced any bad side effects or complications?
-
Thank you, all of your responses are very helpful. I"m glad I found this website.

Hello everyone, I"m scheduled for lap band surgery on 3/13. I'm nervous, excited and scared all at the same time. Most of my friends tell me not to go through it and some tell me to do it. I'm confussed. What are some of the things I'm going to feel after surgery? How long is the pain? Has anyone had the lap band for more than 3 years without any problems?
-
Thank you. I really appreciate your input. Today was my visit to the Psychologist. Everything went well. Now, I"m just counting the days. The only thing I"m scared of is freaking out when I see the anesthesiologist.
