I try to reach for 100 grams a day. I have a shake in the morning and at night which accounts for about 70 grams there. I do a lot of heavy lifting at the gym so I need the extra protein.

Anyone Losing More Than 50% Weight
TracyW2 replied to ashleysuzanne84's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I almost find it harder to maintain than the actual losing. It is hard to get out of the losing mind frame. I keep thinking I need to see the scale going down. Its a constant battle to be ok with my weight and its ok to let myself enjoy food. I have not had any Fluid taken out, but I do continue to exercise and weight lift on a regular basis. If I want a bowl of ice cream, I'm going to have it. I eat like a regular person, I enjoy any type of food I want but in moderation. I go out and have drinks with friends. I'm not a calorie counter, but I use to be constantly worried about how many calories I was eating. Now I'm trying not to fret when I do eat too much of the high calorie items. I still consume a lot of Protein and try to eat as clean as I can (nothing processed). I have actually put on 5 pounds from my lowest, but have maintained this weight for a while and I'm happy with it. I started out at 330lbs and I now weigh 165lbs, which is a 165 pound loss. -
Anyone Losing More Than 50% Weight

I have lost 100% of my excess fat. I am at goal and have been for about a year. I believe its all about how much you put into it. -
LOL, I laughed when you said that is when you were a complete hottness! Love it! I use a machine at the Y that measures body fat, however I know it still isnt completely accurate.

I never set a goal weight. I just kept setting goals for myself. Once I got to that goal, I would set another goal. I finally got down to 160lbs (I'm 5'9") and I wear a size 6. Was happy with my weight so my goal was then to start putting on muscle. I have since put on 5 pounds and taken off body fat. So the scale is just a number to me. The BMI means nothing as it doesnt take into consideration muscle.

Im in Illinois and I have been whining with it being a high of the 50s. Not looking forward to the winter at all. Me and a few girls were joking about moving to Arizona. I would much rather have the heat than the cold and snow.

I tend to avoid buffets now. And when I do go, I ask if they provide a discount for those who have had WLS. Like stated before, i feel better wasting less money this way.

Waiting For My Brain To Catch Up With My Body

I know this sounds crazy, but to this day my brain is still having trouble catching up at times. Its starting to become more real to me esp since having my tummy tuck.
