saying goodbye to a BMI of 40 and over
TracyW2 replied to Debster21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats!! I just got under 40 this morning too and it feels great! -
I was banded the same day. My dr does fills every 3-4 weeks. I go in for my third fill on Monday. I exercise 6 days a week for at least a hour at a time, plus I am constantly watching what I eat. This is a lifestyle change and the band is only a tool. Congrats on your weight loss and just think that is 22 pounds you will never see again!

An Elephant's penis....lovely. LOL
-
Thank you! I am excited to have lost that much already. It definitely helps keeping me motivated!
-
I can't believe they are making you wait 6 weeks. That seems crazy and then to only give you 1cc. I would defintely call your doctor! illuminationlady = thank you. I have been working really hard at dropping the weight. I had my wisdom teeth taken out during my period of hell, so that helped a lot with not gaining any weight back.

December Bandsters How much have you lost?
TracyW2 replied to oceancity4me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded on 12/17 and I have lost 55lbs and that includes my pre-op diet. -
How is everyone doing with restriction? So far I have 7ccs in my 11cc band. I felt restriction for a few days after the second fill. Now I will feel full and within an hour I am feeling hungry again. I think they only thing that has been keeping me losing weight is the fact that I go to the gym six days a week and I work out any where from a hour to a hour and a half. I feel great that I am to my first goal. I wanted to get to that before my 30th and I accomplished that because my bday is on Wed.

Finally hit my first goal today!
-
I have had no problems what so ever with my band. I just had my second fill and I am starting to feel some restriction. I have lost almost 50 pounds since the beginning of December when I started my 2 week pre-op diet. Good luck!
-
Just checking in. It has been forever since I posted. I just got my second fill today. I am starting to feel some restriction finally. The only problem is that my heads tells me I'm hungry, but my pouch says I am not. It is difficult because I am use to eating a certain amount of food and I still want to do that. I am so close to losing 50 pounds that it is killing me because the scale has been stuck for over a week. It didn't help with super bowl yesterday and I did not eat the way i was suppose to. Do you guys find that you enjoy exercising now? I find that if I miss a day, I am actually upset over it. I go 5/6 days a week at an hour each time and really enjoy going.

Congrats!! I am so close to that mark that I can taste it. But, like you, I have been dealing with a couple pounds that just don't want to move.

Lap band surgery vs. c-section
TracyW2 replied to tink0527's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
The c/s was worse. My first c/s was horrible, but my second was pretty easy. Being banded was a breeze! -
Mine has been all over the place, but then it was never exactly regular before because I have PCOS. I just had it two weeks ago and low and behold it started again. I don't know if it is from the weight loss or all the exercising I have been doing lately.

Getting filled after pg and establishing breast feeding . . .
TracyW2 replied to Pnw_Red's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Best of luck to you with the breastfeeding when that time comes. I successfully breastfed both my boys, although I was not banded when I had them. My first son was bf till he was 12months and the second was bf till he was 16months. It was the greatest experience. -
I know how you feel because I just had my first fill yesterday and no restriction. I'm praying that my second fill will give me some kind of restriction.
-
I had my first fill yesterday and that is such a weird and crazy experiece! I now know that I have a 11cc band and they put in 4cc's. I still don't feel restriction on it, but I do go in 3 weeks for another fill. They are really happy with my weight loss and so am I.

6mo supervised weight loss - how much did you lose?
TracyW2 replied to LuuLuu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 0 pounds, but I didn't gain any either. I'll admit it, I didn't really diet. I did exercise like my ins required, but I didn't really watch what I ate. -
Just wondering what everyone is doing for exercise? I am doing 4 times a week. I do the elliptical for 30 mins and then a few mins of cool down. I just started this because of my wisdom tooth surgery 2 weeks ago. I finally felt like getting back into it. Just wondering what is working for you.

I was told I could have milk too. Hello all....just checking in. I have officially lost 40 pounds and I am so excited to say that. I had a few pounds set back last week because I went out to eat and just enjoyed myself and didn't worry about what I ate. The biggest loser at the Y started yesterday and me and a friend signed up for that. They took my total body fat and it said 45% and that was pretty sad. I have 5 more weeks till my first goal. I wanted to be down 50 pounds by my 30th bday and I know I can do it! I hope everyone is doing well in band land!
-
WOW, You look like a completely different and new woman. Congrats!!
-
I'm curious about the drinking too. My 30th is next month and I don't plan on getting drunk, but I would like to be able to have a few.

I have a stitch sticking out!
TracyW2 replied to Melinco's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded the same day as you and I have the same issue. Two of my sites that have scabs, I also have a stitch coming out. I just snipped it a little and have left it alone. My sites seem to be healing well, so I figure the stitches will go away on their own. -
I finally made my way over to this December thread. I just had my wisdom teeth taken out last Wednesday and the band is nothing compared to this. I have lost 10 pounds since Wednesday because of it. How is everyone doing with their band?

Liquid diet on monday....do you actually mourn food?
TracyW2 replied to krstjump03's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I mourned food. The night before I started my liquid diet I actually broke down crying and tried to eat as much of my favorite food as possible. It did get better, but those first 3 days are the worst. Best of luck to you. -
I had my wisdom teeth surgically removed on Wednesday and I am still feeling like crap. I maybe get a protein shake and a bowl of soup down a day. I have lost nearly 7 pounds in 4 days. This was not what I had in mind when I wanted to lose weight. My band surgery was a piece of cake, this is killing me.
