I did what I found worked for me. I was very cautious about what I ate and made sure I went to the gym 4 times a week. I would do the elliptical for 30 mins and then weights for another 30.

When do you think I will be in a size 14?
TracyW2 replied to hopetolose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 5'9" and weigh 185 and fit comfortably into 12s. The 10s are a bit snug yet. -
I eat Smart ones a lot. Although, I have never tried the others.

I'm not in the dating world, but when I go out with friends who dont know about my band I stay with foods that are safe for me. Soup is always a good one that I know I will not have any issues with. If it were me, I wouldnt say anything to them until I knew it was serious.

I Have PCOS, want to lose 95 pds, will lapband help?
TracyW2 replied to Kenya1206's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have PCOS and the band has been a huge help to me in getting the weight off. But like stated before, the band is just a tool. I have to put the work in by watching what I eat and I am at the gym 5/6 days a week. -
I had about 150 to lose and am now just about at goal. Although it has become extremely difficult for me to lose now. I think with that band, you get out what you put in. I put in a lot of work and have been able to lose a lot of weight fairly quickly. I am at the gym 5/6 days a week and find that when I dont go, I feel bad for not going. I truly enjoy working out now. It is totally possible to lose over 100lbs!! Congrats on your date and best of luck.

I am now in maintain mode and finding it hard not to slip back into those old habits. I have trouble eating throughout the day, but once the evening hits I can eat whatever I want. And it seems like I make up for the day and then some because Im starving. Its4me...funny you should say that. There are times when I dont feel like I do deserve it. And I have stopped talking to my grandma about my weight loss because the only thing she ever tells me is how she wishes my mom could lose weight because she deserves it. And my thought is what I dont?

Band complications during & after pregnancy
TracyW2 replied to Wheetsin's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I got pregnant 4 months after being banded. I started out at 8.5ccs in an 11cc band. I did get to where I was too tight and got 4.5cc taken out when I was 15 weeks. I started getting fills once my son was 2 weeks. I have been taking the fills slow since I am nursing and want to make sure I can still get enough calories in. I am now at 7.5ccs and doing fine. I havent had any problems, but not at my sweet spot yet. I will worry more about that once I am done nursing. -
I have found mine and it is making up for lost time!!

When I was at my heaviest, I never seen myself as being that heavy. Now I look at pics from me then and think Wow, I really was morbidly obese. I didn't see it as being that bad. Now that I am considered a normal weight, I dont see myself as skinny at all. It isnt until I see pics, that it hits me. Weird how your mind works in how you see yourself. Congrats on the date! Definitely best thing I ever did for myself!

I can feel it when im not pregnant, but i have to push on my belly. It is under my bra line. I have not told a whole lot of people about my band. But when I was pregnant it wasnt like I was showing off my bare belly. My OB knew, of course. Good luck!

Nope, you couldnt see my port at all. I could easily feel it though.

I am now a year and a half out from surgery and have lost 142lbs!! I can not believe that I have made it this far. I should also say that during that year and a half I also got pregnant and had a baby. My weight loss does not include any baby weight that I gained which was 30lbs. I love my band! And I have found a new love and addiction in going to the gym. Yes I am there a good 5 days a week for a hour and a half at a time. I still have about 10lbs that I want to lose and I will slowly get there. Plus I have been left with an extrme amount of excess skin on my belly that I will hopefully get removed next year. This is the best thing I have ever done for myself! Picture from me yesterday

body image issues during pregnancy?
TracyW2 replied to lauragshsu's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I was so scared of gaining weight when I got pregnant after getting my band and working so hard at getting the weight off. I got to a point where I realized it wasnt about me and I had to gain weight for the baby. I ended up gaining 30lbs and 25 of those fell off the first 2 weeks after having him. It is hard to see the scale moving and clothes getting too tight, but it is so worth it in the end. -
I have PCOS and my weightloss has been anything but slow. Plus I got pregnant 4 months after getting my band. I think it has a lot to do with what you put into it. I really watch what I eat and try to put the good calories in. I am also at the gym 5 days a week. Best of luck

I have a 5, 2, and 5 month old and i think you just adapt. I stay at home and i fix them their own breakfast and lunch. I have a protein shake for my breakfast and most of the times will have a smart ones for my lunch. Then I just eat whatever I am cooking for dinner for the family. Then I go to the gym 5 days a week. My husband is a great supporter and my number one cheerleader. So in the evenings he bathes the kids and gets them to bed while I go to the gym. I am generally home by 930. It is a great end to my day.

Taboo Question about Alcohol consumption....
TracyW2 replied to hopeful11's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have the occasional margarita and have no problems. But I have to agree, it does hit me a whole lot faster than it did before. There isnt near as much fat to absorb the alcohol anymore. -
I also have the Realize Band, but have never been to that other site.
-
Thank you!!! I could not imagine life without my band now!
-
Charise = i dont remember ever getting into that spreadsheet, so I cant help there. I know with my band I have had to work out it. I constantly monitor what I eat and work out 5 times a week. That is awesome that your band is working so well for you!! Nebraska - wow girl!! You are doing awesome. Me and you are neck and neck. We started out and about the same weight too. I was at 330. My goal is to be 185, but ultimately want to be at 175 one day. Hoping after I get this excess tummy skin removed (maybe next year), I will reach my goal. You are doing a great job!!! Crazy to think you have lost a whole other person, isnt it?

waiting 10 minutes between bites????
TracyW2 replied to jamiesdoingit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Wow, that just seems crazy!! I have also heard of putting your fork down between bites, but never waiting 10 minutes. Chew well and take your time. You will be fine. -
Anyone else obsessed with the scale after surgery?
TracyW2 replied to isabella2's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use to be on the scale a dozen times a day. Now I have cut back to about every other morning. But I like to keep track of how I am doing and hold myself responsible. I know that if the scale is up a little, I need to work harder.
