TracyW2 replied to cyn2011's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can't stand watching the food channel shows. Although, I love watching Man vs Food. I find that show addicting. I just found pinterest too. Wow, they have a lot of yummy recipes. -
How Much Did You Lose On Pre Lap Band Op Diet?
TracyW2 replied to legnarevocrednu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I lost 26 lbs in my 2 week preop diet. And the diet is to shrink your liver so they can get to your stomach and not have to cut you open. -
176 Pound Loss Possible?? Oh How I Pray It Is!
TracyW2 replied to Joel's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It is absolutely possible! I lost 150lbs in a year and a half, plus had a baby during that time. You can do it!! -
WOW!! You look absolutely amazing. I can not wait till I can finally get a TT.

I will be banded 2 years this November
TracyW2 replied to Soexcited's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I will be 2 years in December and still loving my band. I am pretty happy where I am as far as weight, but would love to lose another 10lbs. I have a lot of excess skin that will hopefully be taken care of next year. I still exercise about 4 days a week and eat what I want, just not as much. However, I think the maintaining stage is more difficult than the losing stage. Congrats on your two years!! -
I still chew gum.

I thought I might as well spread the Good News !

Awesome job!! -
I'm 5'9" and my dr had a goal of 160-190. I'm sitting between 175-180 and am quite happy with where I am. I have a lot of hanging skin around my belly that would need surgery to fix. So I'm sure once that is gone, I will be down a little more.

Banded in June, just found out that I'm pregnant
TracyW2 replied to roziecakes's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Congrats. I got pregnant with my band baby 4 months after being banded. I ended up having some of my fluid taken out at 15 weeks. But it was a great pregnancy. The only thing I freaked out about was gaining weight. I ended up gaining 30 pounds, but have since lost all of that plus much more. -
I want 4-5cc at once. will anyones Dr. do that for them?
TracyW2 replied to NYdad's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My dr did 4cc on the first fill and I believe 3ccs on the second. -

Recovery with a toddler
TracyW2 replied to Meglvn100's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You do adjust. My little boy was 14 months old plus I had a small daycare at the time. Surgery was on Thursday and I was back to working on Monday, but just taking it easy. If you need to lift him, just sit on the couch and have them climb on your lap. -
Is it safe to get pregnant soon after lap band surgery?
TracyW2 replied to navywife86's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I got pregnancy 4 months after being banded. I had no issues related to my band with my pregnancy. -
Awesome job. I had a pic up of me on the computer from the day of my surgery. My 5 year old pops up and goes, "Who is that?" Amazing that was me just a year and a half ago.

I find it commical that you put this in Fitness & Excersize. LOL Go for it whenever you are comfortable.

It is definitely an excercise machine that you have to get use to and built up to. Keep at it and you will be flying on it with the best of them. I swear by the elliptical and couldnt imagine doing anything else.
-
I still feel like the fat friend, even though I very much am not. Your confidence grows with each pound that you shed. So that definitely helps.
-
You will get your endurance up as you do more. I started out only doing 5 mins and just slowly worked myself up. And you can play with the settings and see what you like the best. I have been using the elliptical for 2 years now and still have days where my muscles are having a tough time keeping up.

Anyone afraid of Failing??
TracyW2 replied to amys0703's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm petrified of failing and gaining the weight back. I know somone on here had a quote that has stuck with me: Food doesnt taste as good as skinny feels. And it is soooo true!! -
I was addicted to my scale. I would weigh myself in the morning and then several times a day and then before I went to bed. Now that I am at goal, I will weigh myself every few days. I keep myself honest by doing that.
-
I have good and bad days. Some days seems like I can eat anything. Then there are others where nothing goes down well. I have a friend who has the same issues with hers, so I'm guessing it is normal.

The Band/Pregnancy
TracyW2 replied to CasHorsinRound's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I agree, if you are only eating one meal a day, you are too tight. You are going to need more calories for you and your growing baby. -
Im at my goal weight now, but am just not happy because of my excess belly skin. I see it as a lot of fat that needs to be gone. I keep hoping that once I do get a TT, I can finally be happy. Oh and I kept changing my goal weight and seeing how I looked when I got to each goal.

I have a friend who was banded a month before me and she hasnt lost anything for about a year now. She is jealous that i look better, weigh less and wear smaller clothes than she does. But whenever I try to get her to join me at the gym, I always get excuses. I really thought she would be one who I would have to join me in this journey. There is always going to be someone jealous of your success.
