Struggling, trying to get back on track

Yes the first to change is taking responsibilty for the problem in the first place so I think we are all taking some big steps here today. The first step in a life time journey.

Struggling, trying to get back on track

I am there with you I lost about 60lbs and I have gained back about 30 and I made an appt to go back and see my surgeon and get back on track. I was banded in june 2009 and I feel like such a loser and I am so frustrated with myself. I still work out but my eating is the biggest problem and I have to get it under control before weight loss becomes a complete loss.

    JUNE 2009 Lap Band Surgery

sounds like you are doing great I have gained back about 20-25 pounds of the 65 I lost so I am headed back to my surgeon. I had 2 unfills and lost control of my eating but my saving grace was that I am still exercising though not as much due to a knee injury but I can't let that stop me. I am encouraged and I need to get back this site for encouragement and insite too.

    JUNE 2009 Lap Band Surgery

i am glad to hear everyone is doing so good but unfortnately I have regained 25 of the 65 lbs that I lost. Now I am 4 weeks from my 25th high school reunion and I feel like a completel loser !! While I was losing I couldn't stop posting and boasting now I suck. I still work out but my eating got out of control after I have to have 2 unfills and I have been back to my M.D. since last year I am too embarrassed to return. Please can someone give me some advise or some words of encouragement.

you most definately need another fill, you may need a few fills to reach restriction. I was banded June 5th and I just recently got my 4th fill I was 243lbs pre-op now I am 193lbs. did get down to 191 but gained 2lb back but I am working on hitting the 180's. So yesss !! you need to keep up with your fills, protein, protein, protein, and exercise 5 days a week that has helped me. You have to stay focused and you will slip ups but the important thing is to get back up.
  13. Dr. Terracina was my doctor, he was great and very caring taking time to explain and answer all questions. I was banded by him in June 09 and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself.

I too have that bruised feeling and my port is felt very easy as well. I worry about lifting heavy things thinking that I am "pop" it or something, but I just do what feels comfortable and if hurts I stop. I am pear shaped as well so since losing weight my abdomen is much smaller another 20lbs and the port may actually poke out too.
