hello all, I am still here. I have lost a total of 72lbs. I love my new way of life. I have not had any complications and seems like I am just chipping away at this journey. I would like to exercise more frequently but that does not always seem to happen:( I know just go do it. Well the holidays have me a bit apprehensive seeing people I have not seen since last year and I made the choice not to tell many about being banded so far. Anyhow glad I jumped on today and checked in. take care and many blessing to you all.

hello bunnies, i have been mia, moving, husband lost job and kids in new schools. but as far as the band life it is super. I wouldn't go back for anything. so far since end of dec. i have lost 41 lbs I am in the 200's now it is amazing how silly that is but it is so cool. I had my first fill yesterday and it was rather interesting. Did not hurt at all and i am feeling restriction. I am on liquids for 3 days and mushies for 2. Dr francis says that how she does things to let them adjust. Having my husband home all the time is also helping his support is amazing. well bunnies sorry to be long winded but had lots to catch up on. -

Hello all bunnies, I am doing just fine after my 4/1 surgery. Everything went well and I came home the day after in the afternoon. I have not had a any pain meds since then. We have 2 kids and i can not be looped up and still help them. I think my pain tolerance is high. I am having some pain under my left rib where the port is. the other four incisions are doing well. I have not been hungry today just sipped water and a couple of shakes. I have a slight stuffed feeling in bottom of my throat. maybe fullness??Oh by the way the 2 weeks of no cheating paid off, I lost 17lbs and my doctor said the surgery was textbook. Well off to get some sleep now and I will check in tomorrow. -

Hello, Just wanted to let you know what I have survived on for the last 14 days:). In the morning first thing I have had the juice of a fresh lemon, warm h20 and a dash of cyenenne pepper. then I have a protein shake with 8 oz of fresh OJ and whey protein powder, liquid vitiman, and flax oil. followed by the protein shakes from costco chocolate low carb and high protein. lots of h20 and tomato soup mixed with water or another shake for dinner time. I also have a treat of the muscle milk banana creme occasionaly. jello and popsicles sugar free of course are great for the munchies.. best of luck I am going in the morning to start my new chapter of MY LIFE. nite-nite -
Ok Bunnies it is then end of day 11. Yeah 4 more days till surgery. I have been doing well with the liquids still, not even a cheat, not even a bite:). When I am cooking for my family I am realizing how much I sacked, well I guess all the way to 323.. Ok so this AM I was down to 308. good nite to all..

Hello bunnies, just checking in I am on day 8 of liquids and feeling ok. To all of you just starting the liquids it does get less frustrating and tempting as the days pass. Day five was when it started for me. Cooking for the family is hard but I just remember that my life can no longer revolve around food. I sit at the dinner table with my husband and kids with my shake or broth and low and behold we still have the same conversations and it is a great meal time. Just goes to show it is about family not the food. I can not wait I have 6 more days till surgery... Blessings to all and remember why each of you started this it was not for the food it was for the inner peace you desired. Oh by the way the Easter Bunny is boycotting candy in my house. bathing suits, filp flops, mints, movie passes, jamba juice cards. No candy. -
God luck with your approval. Also ice breakers sugar free mints are a great substitute for the gum. they even have a fruity flavor one. hope that helps.

The gum thing she said causes you to swallow more air?? I miss my gum and straws the most I think. Sunflower seeds she said are hard to chew to the consistency we need to be swallowing so they are now suggested. Loved them while driving with my diet coke. Now its just me and the radio but thats ok.

Hanna Just remember why you started this process. I did it for me and I am not going to fail me. I keep thinking that I cheated and gave up on diets obviously or I would not be here right?? I am 37 and I want my life back for me.. If you can get through the first five days it is a bit easier. I was really tempted the other day and so I took a nap, it worked. just remember to sip your shakes and change up flavors. On day 3 I wanted something sweet so bad I stopped at the liquor store for some juice, I figured a martinellis apple juice would do it, but I found a muscle milk light in banana and OMG was it a saving grace. So yummy after 3 days of so-so shakes. anyhow just hang in there and remember why you are doing this. -
ok I am on day 7 of my pre op liquid diet and I have survived and lost 10lbs. yeah me!!! I am feeling much better and I think that it is true after 5 days or so your body forgets about chewing and eating..hmm if i had only figured this out sooner:). Well the 1st is almost here and I am so excited. Also note on using straws for shakes. My nutritionist says no straws after surgery?? to much of and irritant to your new stomach with the air going in first. I cut out straws, caffeine, gum, carbonation, and sunflower seeds about 3 months ago in prep for this so it would not be such a shock to the system with withdraws.

Well I am at the end of day five... I have been ok until this afternoon, the winds are blowing here and my allergies kicked in big time. I wanted to just stay in and eat and it got in my head. I did not cave though I took a long nap and I felt much better aside from the allergies. Well going to bed and looking forward to 4/1 which is getting closer day by day.

Hello I am Susan I am 37 and have been married for 15 years to a awesome husband. We have 2 kids, boy 15 & girl 12, they keep us very busy. When we met I was 145 lbs. I am 5'10'. I am now 313. yikes!! cruel trick god plays on one.. I have been considering the lap band for some time now but at the end of 2008 I decided it was more than that time when I saw the scales at the Doctors office. Not sure how things went so smoothly and fast but why question fate right? So her I am finishing day 3 of my liquids only and 12 days away from getting my life back in control with the tool that can help me finally for good. no more yo-yo. Blessings to each of you. Susan
