Hi Globie, thats a bummer. I find my libido came back with a vengeance amonth or so ago and has now gone again! I expect it to return at the most inconvenient time, that's life I reckon. Seriously give it a few months and see your doctor, make sure you atre getting all the vits and mineral you need too. Hope it resolves soon. Jane x

Don't bail out Tex. Stand firm, you will succeed. And get the op while you can before the system is dismantled. We have a national health service here and it never helped me with my weight problems, I had to self pay and go to the Czech Republic to get my VSG done, but it was completely worth it. I suppose that is the equivalent of you going to Mexico from Texas. In fact I was so impressed with the care in the Czech Republic I am going back in October for a bit of cosmetic work as I have never really liked my boobs!

Hi Silvia, you are looking very lovely, and you are right though to can the booze for the weight loss phase, it is packed with calories. However in maintenance you can resume as I did, hic! -
You might want to start looking for another job just in case she cannot handle you being slimmer than her, don't want to worry you but....

Congratulations, every day will get better. You have done so well this last year. Jane x

I get this too, I am successful by my own efforts and not being able to fix myself on my own was a pisser! Console yourself with the thought that you will be able to eat what you want in a years time, you just won't want to overdo it, the eating imperative changes completely. It is as easy as falling off a log! Jane x

I understand exactly what you are saying but at the end of the day you aren't going to do it on your own because you would already have done it. And if you have sleep apnea you have a serious medical condition that can be life limiting, so playing the numbers game of weighing one risk against another you are probably safer having this elective surgery while you are fit enough to bear it andyou will stand more chance of being around for your kids and their kids too in the future years! Yay! That must have felt good, and then you feel sorry for the others.... Jane x

Hi sleeve 4 me, you look wonderful and you should accept that. If you look at other women with the same critical eye you reserve for yourself you will see that their legs and arm flop a bit too except if they are still teenagers and work out! The acid test is do you get the glad eye from the fellas? I would think you do. Jane x -

Tiff, So glad you are keeping well and happy brewing a baby. You still look fab, and I am so jealous of the beach -
Thanks for that, I didn't know about the Vit E. It's funny about Milk Thistle, it is not promoted in the UK but in Eastern Europe its a staple medicine for liver problems like Hep C. I know a Polish chap who was treated with interferon and he was put on silymarin to help support his liver so its not just the Czech Republic. I am sure it helps my liver as I really deserve some humdinger hangovers but they never materialise since I started the milk thistle! I know I am a bad girl

Good luck and I am sure you are doing the right thing. You are young too so it will be doubly exciting. Jane x

If there's one thing you think pre-surgery members should know...
Jane_J replied to NewPath4Me's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My advise is eat your protein 1st, then some green veg and then you will be full and you will lose weight. I cut out carbs for my weight loss phase and that worked brilliantly. -
Hi Melinda, I had my sleeve done 2 years ago and am at goal and maintaining easily. I don't feel hungry much now, as soon as I got onto solids after the operation the hunger was gone mostly. I am very happy I chose the sleeve. Jane x

Try Milk Thistle, it contains silymarin which helps the liver. My surgeon in the Czech Republic recommended it so my liver reduction phase and I have continued taking it ever since as I like a few drinks at the weekend these days!! Jane x

SWEATING all the time.....
Jane_J replied to becca2297's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I used to hate the summer as I just overheated all the time. Being fat means you are carrying a load of insulation. As soon as it starts to go you will experience the odd feeling of being cold!! I am quite reptilian these days, if the sun comes out I love to bask in it and soak up the rays. Wish I was in Texas and not in the UK because our summer is being pants as usual! Jane x
