    cereal

Hi SB, You will be able to eat anything just in small amounts. The more I hear about the lapband the more I think it sucks!! You should be able to eat meat when your tummy has healed. I can eat 4 oz of steak, have to chew it well and not scarf it down mind you In fact eating meat will keep you fuller for longer than cereal will which will just slide through. You should be aiming to create a feeling of fullness so you don't feel empty and deprived all the time. After the 1st week on clear liquids, 2nd week on heavier liquids you move onto mushy food like soft scrambled eggs. The you should see the restriction/fullness effect start. After 4 weeks you can be a little more adventurous, after 6 weeks you tummy should be healed. Tiffykins posted a good diet sheet at http://www.iabsobesitysurgery.com/Media/Forms/SleeveDietGuide.pdf which should help. Also be aware that different surgeons have different pre and post op diet advice. There are lost of people here who have revised from band to sleeve so just read, read, read the forums  Jane x

I'm terrified of not getting enough nutrients

All good advice above here. For the 1st week concentrate on drinking enough water and walking/being mobile. Be kind to yourself. You will be OK, we're all here and that proves its possible !!
  6. Sorry Lis, what I meant is I had the same drug but did not have a reaction. If sahe did actually have the drug in the 1st place as I am with the opinion that they cocked up the drugs and were trying to cover it up. Jane x
  7. I am in the full truth camp but it is a totally personal decision, and I am blessed (cursed?) with a certain 'if you don't like it it's your problem' personality. I feel obligated to tell people about this operation because it could inform other people who have this horrible eating problem to retrieve their lives. There is so much ignorance out there about the options available and GPs seem to be totally clueless here in the UK. I never had one tell me about WLS, they just hand you a diet sheet! I will not forget where I came from on this, I think many VSG people lose the weight and quietly forget that they were ever fat, as I owe more to the others following on. Jane x
  8. I am sorry you had this reaction. I had the same and was fine. What makes people react differently to drugs? Jane x
  9. I have no idea what you are talking about. We are just other ordinary people who are supporting each other. I have no recollection of any post by you. I do not want to be tarred with a brush of not caring because that is not true. What happened to you? Jane x
  10. Judy is right here. Basically there are loads of people in the world who are not on side. Find solace with us who understand what you are going through sweetheart, we do really care. Jane xxx
  11. I don't, just to be different I want to weigh 133lbs!

    Physical Hunger

Hi I voted lost it and it never returned, but I do very occasionally have a feeling of hunger, probably because I am. I think the hunger I get is like normal people hunger. I feel hungry for 30 mins maybe a couple of times a week. It goes off if I don't get round to eating, just like normal people's does too. how weird is that?? It was never like that for me before. Jane x
  14. Hi agree with all. Also remember that guilt is a pointless and destructive emotion. It's probably one of the things that caused you to eat in the first place. Ditch the guilt. It's not as if you have murdered anyone, robbed a bank, embezzled a million dollars is it? You haven't have you?? Jane x
  15. Good luck, see you back on here very soon and you can tell us how its going. Jane x
  16. Good luck Lillita, you will be sleeved and back here chatting to in no time. Jane x
  17. A small alcoholic drink will relax your stomach too. If thats all it is. I am not recommending this but I have noticed this happens.

    Sigh... stall...

Hi Orou, Stalls happen at various stages, they did to me. Sweetie was right in her advice. I thought when I was losing in the earlier phases that the toxins and hormones that were fat soluble I had accumulated over the years were being released as the fat got burned. Remember things like DDT traces get stored in the fat and they must have some effect as they get released. Your body is getting used to the new regime too. At least you don't have the lady hormones, I felt quite ragey at times, but that has calmed down now. Try to stop stressing and focus on other things. Jane x
  20. Bless you CityGal, we are with you xxx
  21. Hi Jolanda, nice to meet you. Jane x
  22. Hi Mary, Glad all is well. I didn't really feel restriction until I started mushy food. Liquids just go straight through. All the best, Jane
  23. Hi Trish, I am in England. Between London and Oxford ish. I was stunned at the pictures of me before, you forget how bad it was. I was actually heavier than that when I started the pre-op diet. Cheers, jane
  24. Hi Cindy, I am glad you are feeling happier. Jane x
