  3. Hi Moni luv, I wish you well on the VSG thing. I understand obsessive behaviour because I do it too. It is something that often gets better with age, like mood swings do too. If you have insight into your behaviour you are a long way there. Try to include other things in your life, read a book or take up a class, to dilute the feelings. I am sorry about your marriage, it must be rough for you. You will get through though. Jane x

    so tired and weak

Sherri, hang on in there. It will get better, but make sure you are getting enough fluid. I had bad periods after the op, wondering if I would be able to eat enough to live on, but as my stomach healed and the swelling subsided it got better. I still have days when I feel like I can't even get a drink down, but if you relax it subsides. Some days I can eat a bowl of food, it's quite odd really. Maybe you should see your doctor for some reassurance too.The people here will help too, I am sure you will be deluged with support and advice. Jane x

    UK Sleevers

Hi Bella, First welcome and good luck for Tuesday I had to have some injections post surgery called heparin, which does the same function as warfarin. The main thing is to drink enough water, walk as much as possible and get your lungs going after surgery. In the Czech Republic where I had mine done they taped a rubber glove to the end of a straw and I had to try to blow it up every hour to get my lungs working properly, They said that this help prevent pneumonia. You should be able to drink enough water but you need to keep sipping to do it. You will be getting hydrated via an IV line post surgery so you won't have to do this straight away. Protein suppliments can be bought cheaply from Asda, go to the health section. Body builders use them as they are after protein and low carbs just like us. Atkin day break bars are available from Boots and large supermarkets and are a handy way of getting some of your protein later on. When I got to eat mushy food I found soft scrambled eggs brilliant. Expect your food likes and dislikes to change in this op. Mine did. If I were you I would do a liver shrinking diet leading up to Tuesday. 470 lbs Flight Question

Hi, I don't have any advice here but I just wanted to wish you all the luck and good wishes in the world. It must be extremely difficult for you at the moment. Jane x
  14. I was like this too and I am post menopausal. I have a theory that your fat stores fat solubale hormones, like the PMS ones, and burning it releases those hormones back into your system for you to enjoy again  I was like a mental person on stilts for ages. My poor DH has had to put up with so much over the years. Nowadays I am fine again, but now I am down to the last few pounds to shed and I am taking it slowly. Jane x

    Lotion on incision sites?

Bio-oil for me too. My scars are pretty invisible now. I can't actually fin a couple of them even looking closely.
  16. I think I had a similar thing and reckoned it was a side effect of the PPI, I always had a dry mouth even when I had just swigged some liquid. It went after a few weeks of driving me crazy as my body adjusted to my meds.

    40 bougie anyone?

Mine was a 40 too. My surgeon Dr Cierny wants to avoid problems with excess constriction. He aims for a residual stomach capacity of 125cc to 150cc. I love the man, he saved me :thumbup1:

    Acid Reducers.

Hi Oregan. I managed to get off mine too after a year. It took longer than I thought (3 weeks) and I still need a swig of gaviscon occassionally. But I am pleased to be nearly drug free now.

    Hunger?

I don't feel much hunger, and if I ignore it it goes away. I used to eat and eat and never feel satisfied. I am very happy that this demon has gone. But what to fill the gap with? This is the psychological issue for many of us.

I want to stop loosing now

Tiffykins, I will get some plastics done next year god willing. Boobs and tummy. I finally managed to kick the PPIs BTW, it took 2-3 weeks before it became OK. Gaviscon was my best friend. Are you still taking them? Jane x

I want to stop loosing now

Hi Tiff, sorry you are having a hard time. I don't think we factor in the mind adjustments when we start this journey. But it's still better to be thin and alive rather than obese and disabled/dead IMHO. Peple will get used to the new you, as you will too. And you are still the same warm and lovely girl inside hun. I want to stop loosing now

Hi Carolyn, Glucosamine 500mg & Marine Collagen 400mg - Simply supplements This is the one I am using at the moment. Hope it helps, figure really this stuff needs to come from the inside as if you just put cream on your skin not much gets through to the lower layers. I love this site too, so many lovely people. 23. I follow atkinsy type programe via MyPlate it really works.

I want to stop loosing now

Hi Caroline, try taking collagen supplements. I think they have helped me considerably, I take marine collagen ones before bed time. I use Nivea soft on my face daily too. And I have used bio oil on my stretched bits and scar sites, but any vitamin e enhanced oil will do I think. And you have to give the skin a year to sort itself out. Jane x
