    Goaaaaaaaalllll!!!!!!

Hi Sue, that is brilliant news. I will see if I can contact the Mail as I think it's more widely read by women, who seem to be far more open to these things;-) Cheers, Jane x

Hi Sue, Thanks for the comment. When and where do you get VSG'd? I would love to 'raise awareness' (that sounds so facile doesn't it?) of this OK in the UK but don't really know where to start. I comment where I can when WLS comes up but the media only seems to promote or publicise the band and the bypass! I have no idea why apart from their complete laziness. Jane x

    Feeling Guilty

Yes Cleosan, emails are very difficult as I can write a work one with the words in a light tone in my head and then when my husband reads it his head voice has a sarcy tone!! Maybe I should just talk to him as he does sit 6 foot away from me most of the time while we are in the office, it's just I have such a shocking memory email gives me an audit trail and I can prove I told him stuff! Thanks again, Breeezy asked how my life has changed. It has changed totally, I have options now, rather than just sitting in a chair working on my computer because quite frankly there was not much else I could or enjoy doing. Of course this has dramatically lowered my earnings as I just want to have fun these days LOL!! I feel so much happier, and find it easier to be outgoing without feeling ashamed of myself and secretly wondering what people are thinking about me. I know how critical people are of the overweight. I try to avoid these people and my friends have been my friends through thick and thin (literally) I am glad to say. My DH says he loved me fat and never felt ashamed of me, but I am glad I can present this body to the world now and know he can be proud of me physically too. And I love wearing clothes now. Apart from that I am the same person inside, still awkward and stroppy if I see something I think is wrong. Jane x
  8. Yup this a nicer and smaller forum, much more cosy and friendly IMHO. Jane x

Hi Dee, thanks and I look forward to that day too, hopefully not too long. I am 5' 6", but I used to be 5' 7 and a bit " so I have lost just over an inch due to old age and weight compression. Jane x

Hi Globie, thanks and the goal was mine, I used to be 186lbs when I was married, after 3 months on the horrible Cambridge diet to get into The Dress, so I added another 7lbs to compensate for age etc.. Jane x
  12. Just supplement with the horrible shakes until the normal logistic routes are available again. It really won't be that long in the greater scheme of things. Think of it as an induction rite to the mystical sister(and brother)hood of the Magic Sleeve :confused1: Jane x

Thanks Oregondaisy, much appreciated. Good for you too being below target too. Jane x
  14. For me it eventually went back to normal, that is normal for a normal person, not my pervious version of normal. I enjoy my food but I get satisfied quickly and then just don't want any more. It's like magic! Jane x

    Hair

Hi MaryAnne, I think most experience some hair thinning, I certainly did. I was very careful to eat as much protein as possible and I took vitamin, calcium and collagen supplements to give my body as much help as possible. Eventually it grew back in and it's as if it never happened. VSG patients would not have the malabsorption issues that more drastic WLS does, so it should not be a long term issue for us. In fact I have read that any major surgery can trigger hair loss temporarily due to the body shock. So basically don't worry too much. Jane x

Christie, They are great photos, you are doing really well and it's a fantastic record for others to see too. You are a very pretty lady and when you are size 12 you will be awesome! Jane x
  21. Amanda that is fantastic. And you will bring such kindness and insight to that job too. (Most of the PE teachers I remember from school were sadists!! Well to the fat kid with glasses and asthma they were anyway.) Jane x

    All of a sudden, I'm a wimp?

Wish my husband would see me as helpless!! He still expects me to go and work and spend long and difficult days on client sites. Ah the joys of running a small business together! Jane x
  23. Hi freeToBeMe, Sorry you are having a stall. They happen and I still don't really understand why. If you hang in there it will pass, and probably as you have been in it for a few weeks it will pass very soon. The only thing I can recommend is continuing a protein rich diet around 1000 cals a day, plenty of walking and water, and trying to forget about it for another month. Then get on the scales and see whats happened. try to concentrate on other things in your life and treat this as a mere incidental, it will keep your sanity! Jane x
