Just done a quick google search on LSL and it's a bit worrying OregonDaisy. I would be very wary and do tons of research on your surgeon. There are a load of very unhappy people out there with their faces ruined. Jane x

white tongue, NOT THRUSH, any ideas?
Jane_J replied to disp4so's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
PPIs can cause dry mouth. I had odd coatings on my tongue in the earlier months as I recall. i put it down to a symptom of the detox that was going on. After all so much junk must have been dissolved in my fat cells that was being released into my blood stream again as the fat was burnt off. (I read somewhere that the body uses the fat cells to dispose of toxic waste that it can't deal with, like petsicides end up concentrated in them). My tongue looks normal now so don't worry. Jane x -
My coughing only occurs with food, not water too. If I eat dry food like bacon it can be quite irritating, especially if I am hungry and eat quite quickly. Although it has settled done massively recently. I emailed my surgeon and he did not know why this was happening and suggested I should get some upper GI test done but I have not got round to it yet. Russell Crowe???? Surely not? Now that lovely Daniel Wroughton Craig would be a different kettle of fish, I took a fancy to him when I saw Layer Cake, do try and see it if you can. Jane x -
I sometimes cough if I eat too fast, but it seems to have subsided. Does it happen if you drink or is it just food? Jane x

You've heard it all before...

Hi Lyndsey, I can relate to how you feel, I felt the same when was due to fly to Brno in the Czech Republic for my sleeve. All worked out really well and I am sure they will look after you like a queen at Southampton hospital. It's not so far from home and getting this done will enable you to retake control of your life. I firmly believe that us fatties have a wrong setting that makes us perfect for stone age hand to mouth existance but prone to weight gain in the 21st century. As we are unlikely to experience stone age conditions (hopefully) getting the offending part of the stomach snipped off seems logical to me. I have been amazed at how much this operation changed my food mindset, I don't like sweet things any more and I am pretty indifferent to most food except when I feel real hunger. Like a normal person eh? No wonder they can stay slim, it's completely easy when you don't want to eat, no great moral high ground really. So bottom line stop feeling down about yourself, we are all on your side here. And let us know how you get on. And post if you need to chat or PM me. Jane x -
Yay!! Thats great news. Onederland is a cool place to be. Jane

Pooey, she sounds really horrible. Her loss and your gain. She will be well d*ssed off when you get thin too, LOL. I would rub her nose in it when you get to that point, nasty I know but hey, we're only human. Jane x

Hi All, At 4 months out I was averaging 10lbs a month loss, which is no help to you except for me to say what I was actually doing at that point. I was not exercising except walking. I was taking in around 1000cals a day, and I was getting very high protein with very low carbs. Jane x

I used to take a fork and a small tupperware containing a couple of eggs and a knob of butter to work each morning. I used to make the scrambled eggs in the firms microwave using the tean and coffee milk when I started to feel hungry. As I had to leave early to avoid the traffic this seemed to be a sensible way round it. O know it's still eggs but they are comfort food to me. Jane x

I have just ordered my Shake Weight from eBay. I will let you know if it works. Jane x

Hugs from me too. Big hugs. All these things will pass. IV hydration and antibiotics sound like a grand plan though. Hang on in there. Jane x
