For many years, I have struggled with my weight. It really started in the pubertiy years when I started having female issues that ultimately caused weight gain. (PCOS) Once the weight was on, as you all know, it was on and was so hard to take off. I tried every diet known to man. Even tried eating virtually nothing, just enough to live really. Well we all know that didn't work. I had said several times I would kill to have the lapband done. So just after the 1st of the year I was told our insurance was changing. The bad news was the insurance we were going to didn't cover any of the bariatric procedures. I had submitted for infromation prior to learning of the change. So, I gave up. Didn't give it much thought until I learned we were not going to change after all, and then 2 days later my surgeons office called me as I was in Vegas on business. Good ole lucky Vegas. I had an appointment about a week later. I learned that my out of pocket would only be 1000.00-1500.00, and I was booked for March 9th. I had vacation in Jamaica scheduled so wanted to wait till I got back. I had surgery March 9, 2009, and to date have lost 61 pounds. I went from a size 22/24 to currently wearing some size 8/10 or 12's. I could not be happier and have absolutely NO regrets at all. It is the best thing I have ever paid for, and I really wish I had been able to do it years before. It has given me my life back. I am happier and in better shape, and able to keep up with my very active husband and 3 grandkids. What an amazing experience. I do admit my doctors office has really made it a great experience though. They are awesome.
