    May 6th Surgery Stories

Congratulations Hallelujah Girl!! I just had mine done on Monday and the pain is easily relieved with the meds, 2 days in and hardly taking meds, only at night before bed!! Anyway well done and let us know how you progress.
  4. Hi Folks, First off all let me thank all the fellow bandsters that wished me well:smile2: Well all went well better than expected as before I arrived at the Hospital I was a touch nervous. The nurses and surgeons did an excellent job and after meeting with them my mind was at ease. The whole thing was done very proffesionally. The pain now is minimal, they also repaired a abdominal hernia at the same time. Sleeping last night was not a problem. So all in all it was something that would be highly recommended  My weight before at initial visit was 281lbs. Before pre-op diet (shakes) 279lbs. After pre-op diet 261lbs. Day of surgery 261lbs. Can someone help me on how I do a ticker!! Have tried but cant seem to work it out.

  7. Hi Folks, I have been on the two week protien shake pre op diet, and had my final visit with Dr Robert Davis in Houston today also had blood work done along with a chest x-ray and EKG all went well . My surgery is scheduled for Monday May 4th and am realy looking forward to it, It's been a long journey to get this far but im sure it will be worth it in the end!! Would love to hear how all you felllow bandsters are getting on.
  8. My Pre-Op is 5 shakes a day, the first few days were hard but after that I was OK, even went to a friends House Warming party yesterday there was a big crowd there and they made some great looking BBQ food, but I was not tempted to indulge, they also had a lot of booze on the go and me Originally being from Scotland (we like our beer)never even touched a drop. Stick with it it gets easier and it will be worth it in the long run!!
  9. I Finally got my surgery date (May 4th), its been a long road and I hope its worth it, I have started on the shakes and they are a lot better than what I first thought, would like to hear from others in the same position and let me know some of there travels through this journey!!
