  1. Soooo...long story short: My white cell count came up high, and has gone up. I have NO OTHER SYMPTOMS (fever, pain, puke, etc...) They checked my band via CT SCAN, and found no inflamation and no infection there. All organs are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Anyone else have this issue?

Oh...alllll kinds...ranging from cholesterol to the ovary to BRCA...everything came back great except for the BRCA--I did test positive for that.

    White Cell Count.....?

Hey! Nothing has come up with my white cell count. I see a hematologist/oncologist regularly, and he's stumped. He seems to think that my body doesn't really *enjoy* having the "foreign object" in it :crying:) He's basically just keeping an eye on it. I hope yours also turns out to be nothing! GOOD LUCK!

    New and Lots of Questions

OMG I remember when I was allowed to eat a scrambled egg and it was THE BEST EGG EVER!! LOL! I was losing weight like crazy at first as well, but thinking I was eating more than I should. I say as long as yer losing weight, WOOHOO! I just had my first fill last weekend (was banded in Oct. 2007) and I don't feel much difference. I get heartburn when I've eaten too much, and it's not fun. I have never puked, though! I've lost a total of 88 lbs, and have about 50 or 60 to go. WE CAN ALL DO IT!! LAPBANDERS UNITE!

I need all the help i can get

My only advice to you is DON'T BUY ANYTHING BAD If it's not around, you can't eat it ;O) That seems to work well for me. Also, GUM seems to help curb my sweet tooth craving. I hope it works for you too!

    Hi!

Hello to all! I actually had my surgery in Oct. 2007, and have lost over 80 lbs. with no fill! I haven't had a fill because nobody in NM could do it, and I could not afford to go back to TX to have it done. I get my first fill on 2/28! I just want to wish everyone here the BEST of luck! This was the best thing I have ever done for myself (even with the complications during my surgery) I wouldn't take it back for a million bucks!

My surgery date is March 11, 2009

I lost 24 lbs. in 2 weeks, and I didn't move during that time. Liquids only. Then, I started to walk a very little bit. To date I've lost almost 90 lbs. and the ONLY exercise I do is on my Wii Fit and SOME walking. I'm very good about my diet, but I do indulge in sweets about once a week. Just make sure you are getting PLENTY of protein, so your hair doesn't fall out ) You don't wanna be a skinny bald chick ;o) If you have a KEVA JUICE in your area, I highly recommend it! In fact, that's what I'll be having for lunch! They can put a heaping scoop of protein in yer smoothie and it's healthy! GOOD LUCK!

    Hi!

I get heartburn and that's about all....once I feel some tightness in my chest, I stop eating.....or I *try* to ) At some times I can eat a lot, but at other times (LIKE RIGHT NOW) I have no appetite and don't wanna eat at all. I just choked down some turkey lunchmeat just for the protein, and I'm sure I'll have heartburn in about 30 minutes. CANNOT WAIT FOR MY FILL TOMORROW! WOOHOO!

    White Cell Count.....?

The doc doesn't seem all that concerned. I haven't been sick recently, and I don't have any signs of infection. I have HEARD that high stress levels and smoking can cause the count to go up, and I have both! I smoke 2 cigs/day, and have been WAY stressed lately. I am gonna tell the doc that I'll quit smoking, and then he can retest me. At any rate, I'm gonna try not to STRESS about it, because then my count will go up ) Thank you for all of your help! I will keep you informed! I just hope the doc will still fill my band tomorrow (

    White Cell Count.....?

I was banded in Oct. 07, and my cell count is at 16 *I believe* I have heard that a fill will help this, and I get that done tomorrow. Any advice?

My surgery date is March 11, 2009

It certainly has changed MY life! Even though I don't look like I want to *YET*, I feel sooooo much better. It's so nice to be able to jog up the stairs and not be DYING by the time I reach the top! I can play with my niece and nephew outside and actually KEEP UP! I wish you luck!

    Hello Everyone, Newbie Here!

OH FINALLY SOMEONE WHO'S NOT BRAND NEW! I got mine in Oct. 07, and have lost 80! I get my FIRST FILL tomorrow! I'm hoping to lose another 60 *at least* this year. GOOD LUCK to you, and I'm here for ya!

    Hi!

That's the odd thing....I don't *know* if I feel restriction...never having had a fill, I don't have anything to really compare to. The only exercise I do (and this is reallllly bad) is the occassional walk and my Wii Fit. Loooove my Wii Fit!
  18. Nobody can boss you! HA! It's a VERY tough choice to make in the first place, just to *have* the surgery. You know yourself better than anyone, and if you choose not to tell anyone, that's great. I told the world because I was so excited. If you need support, I will TOTALLY be yer pal! I had the surgery in Oct. 2007 with many complications in the first week. I've had no fill, but have lost over 80 lbs. Please know that, in my opinion, this surgery is totally worth it. In fact, I use my surgery date as my "second birthday". Let others tell you it's an "easy way out" but shrug them off. It's FAR from easy. You still have to eat right and exercise, and that is not easy! I wish you the BEST luck, and let me know if I can help you in anyway!

    What is wrong with me?

I was totally going to suggest the Wii Fit!! That thing is WONDERFUL and FUN! If you can find one, I highly suggest the investment )
  20. OMG now I'm freaking out LOL!! I have had NO FILL in my band, but have lost 80 lbs. Haven't lost anything in 2 months, so I get filled on 2/28. I'm *pretty sure* I'm in for a real treat as far as restriction goes. I have not once thrown up, but get some BAD heartburn when I eat something I'm not supposed to (tortilla is bad) I appreciate the post, though...now I'm prepared! CHEW CHEW CHEWWWWW

    Confession time...

Here's what helps me: Don't buy junk. If it's around, I'll eat it, so I just don't buy it. When I get hungry for something sweet, and go to the pantry or fridge and see that there is only a granola bar or an apple....I usually just don't have anything at all. You will do just great, I know it! And don't stress out ;o) It will make yer blood pressure rise )
  22. I'm very used to not drinking during my meals now. Others think I'm weird, but I'm gettin' skinny!
  23. They kept me in the hospital for a week because I could not move. I was in SO much pain, I don't even remember that week, except begging for the CEO of my company to come fly me home on his private jet....that may have been the morphine talking ) Over one year later and I feel GREAT and have no regrets. I really hope that you are doing better, and that you continue to do better. Keep up the prayers and you will do just fine!
