I was working out in the gym last week and I heard two body builders next to me make a joke about fat people working out. I heard them yell "Cow" out and it didn't really hit me until later in the week. I was incredulous that they would actually laugh about that while right next to me. I guess I've got to develop a thick skin but I shouldn't have to. I pay alot of money to work out there just like they do... only I pay more for a trainer.

Which airline was it?

I get my third fill on July 13th. I have really slowed down my eating and most likely will not ask them to add any more to my band. I've lost 30lbs in six weeks. I've slowed now but expect that to come and go. Good luck to you on your fill.

Sure. You got it. Send me a friend request and I'll approve it. I couldn't find where to approve it on yours. Good luck.

That is so awesome. I am looking forward to that NSV myself. I can report that my wedding ring is sliding on and off again with relative ease. It was just swollen around my finger. Not bad for being banded less than a month. You Go Girl!!! Keep it up. I hope to follow you soon.

Man- I am having a really hard sticking to this liquid diet!! All I want to do is eat. I am home alone, with a kitchen full of Cookies, ice cream, chicken fingers, fries, and loads of other sweet and fried goodness-I had to sell my home to be able to afford the band, so I live with my mom. I can't expect everyone in the house to suffer, just because I have to- But it's super hard to be here with all of this food! So far, the only cheat I've done is having a spoon of sugar free ice cream. Not too bad, but I'm only one week down. I have to survive a whole nother week of this!! Plus endure a birthday party, and grocery shopping! I want to go crazy, and eat everything I see.
This is HELL!!!
Hi Malysa,
My name is Melissa too  I would tell you to throw it all out but you don't really have that option with other family members around. They can really sabotage you whether they mean to or not. My Dad doesn't give a $hit what he eats in front of me and his attitude is one of "well, she's gonna have to learn how to eat around people." I hate that and I'm glad I live with a very supportive husband. He's doing Atkins which is similar in many ways to the high Protein low carbs that we are on. Good luck with your next week and just try to steer clear of the cabinets that you know have your favorite junk in them. That's what I do when I go over to Mom and Dads place. Best of luck,

I'm so sorry that your hubby isn't being supportive. He could be afraid of the Hot Momma he'll have on his hands when you lose the weight. Just know that you have support on here and we have walked in your shoes so to speak about the surgery. Best of luck and don't get discouraged. P.S. We all ate whatever junkfood we could while we were still unbanded b/c we knew that there would be a day we couldn't. Go for it.

Some Dr.s don't have you do it. The reason behind the pre op diet is to make the liver shrink. This makes it shrink about 25%. Some Dr's. have gotten away from the diet these days. Be glad if yours is one of them. I know you probably feel lost listening to everybody whine about it on here. Ha ha ha

The port will become less sensitive and the pain in the shoulder and the surgical soreness will go away with mobility. It worked for me. If you shoulder is hurting, there is gas that is still trapped. It's common but I didn't have it on this surgery. Other surgeries have been awful though. Good luck and move around as you can. Chat soon. Mikissa

So how did it go Nean4488? Your surgery was yesterday. Was it uneventful?
-
Good luck. Everything should go really smooth for you on the day of your surgery. We all were in your shoes and came out of it just fine. Maybe sore but all in all you'll be just beautiful scars and all. :w00t:

Thanks for the feedback. It reassures me a lot.

Good luck on your fill. I haven't had one yet and I'm nervous about mine. I think your Avatar is soooo cute. The kitty from Shrek.

Hey Bella,
Hope everything is going better now. Maybe some of that air is gone now and you can enjoy things better. I'll bet you've lost some more weight. Can't wait to hear from you.
-
P.S. Love your ticker. It really captures the celebratory mood.

Thank you for the pep talk. I can use it. I am nervous about my first Dr.s appointment b/c I've never had a fill before. Can you tell me what that's like?
-
I'm so glad you're now officially banded. I have lost 15lbs total on my scales anyway since I was banded. I go back to the Dr. on the 1st and I am nervous about him giving me an injection since my port is still got glue all around it.

It surprises me every time I hear somebody tell me their stories. It's just a bunch of hot air coming from ghastly people. So sad that they can't see you for who you are.
-
that's so wrong. I too had a grandma who was always hard on me but she never realized how bad she hurt my feelings. It was years later that she said she never realized how sensitive I was. At this point she was dying of cancer and I guess you rethink a lot of what you say and do to people then.

THanks Jodi,
I am happy I have made this decision but I'm not seeing any significant weight loss yet. Maybe I need a fill. But I eat a boiled egg and get full so it's not like I'm overeating. ?? Who knows what's going on.
-
that's just awful that anybody would do that to you. I'm glad you had the state of mind to take up for yourself with that quick quip. I would have been too in shock to come up with something that good.
-
I'm wondering the same thing. I just had surgery this week and I've got some obvious swelling but it's going down and I can't eat much. The solid foods are so hard to swallow. I wonder if I need an adjustment or not when I go back.?? I guess I'll have to wait and see.

Thanks so much

My surgery was on the 11th as well. I am finding that as I move around a lot, the soreness seems to get better each day. Just joined a gym today. I will have to heal before I can do anything much but I'm looking forward to embracing the whole lifestyle change. Best of luck to you!
What is the rudest thing someone has said to you?!?!

Thanks for your comment. My hubby said the same exact thing. I also wanted to congratulate you for being so close to your goal. I will get there one day.
