My DL is horrible too....I was pregnant with Ty and look like I was having a tough day!!!! I know we all have busy schedules...but any chance we could plan another lunch or something? I really need it!!! Feeling kind of blue.......I was tell my hubby I feel the same way right after my 2nd child was born......not full on depressed, but not right....anyway it would be up lifting I think if anyone has the time.....just a thought!! Hey everyone!!! I made it!!! It has been a tough week!!! THe first couple of days after surgery really were hell!!!! But today 5 days post op I'm not feeling to bad!!!! Still sore of course, mostly at the port site!! I fell so bad for you guys that have to do a liquid diet before hand......no liquid diet here, just low calorie....it was nice because the day before surgery I had a nice low cal meal..... Surgery went really fast...I was the first pt....they took me back at 06:30...went into the OR at about 08:15 and next thing I knew I was waking up and it was 09:40...quick!!! Well I hope e veryone is doing well....let me know if anyone has questions maybe I can help if you are about ready for surgery!!!

I was 223 the day of surgery then that night after surgery I was 225.....now I'm 218.. Yah I really didn't want to go to 1/2 c yet, but we will see maybe I will start getting used to 1/4c!!!

Ok...so when I went for orientation our group got the first up dated binder...a few changes...apparently one is the amount of food...mine says 1/4 to 1/2 c......either way.....I've been eating or drinking if you will clear broth when I'm really feeling hungry and have just ate.....maybe I need to puree the cream soups because my are very thin.......but I'm down 2 more pounds......that is 28 pds total!!! Hey Zoe......I went through this process very fast, but my father had had gastric bypass 8yrs ago so I was no stranger. My personal opinion...I think Kaiser does a pretty good job of letting you know what its all about. After orientation I felt so much more informed, which help me make my decision. And I think it did alot of people, out of about 40 people in my orientation I only saw 1 through the whole process that wasw in my class. Its not for everyone!!! I chose the band over gastric bypass for alot of reason...one its reversable...if there are problems you can take it out.....second I don't have ot have my insides rearranged.....also I know 2 people who had gastric bypass and both have gained alot of the weight back...although that can totally happen with band I think there is more of a responsiblity when you have to go in for your fills. It keps you on top of it!! But like anything else you can fall....I wont!!!! These girls wont...and you wont either if you decide to do this......we are stronger I think because we have each other!!!!!! I sound like Richard Simmons...god help me!!!

Oh yah...also I'm on stage 2 foods.....trying to stay at 1/4 c but I'm feeling hungry a few minutes later....I'm scared to go to a 1/2 c already...what does everyone think?

My surgeon was Dr.Baggs......he rocks!! Ok...so today...wow...feeling pretty good...only woke once in the night and was able to go back to sleep......other than my tummy being bloated I can see my weight loss every where...thats exciting.... The spasm I'm pretty sure was from to much liquid...I had taken my 2 tsp of liquid med then sucked on a whole popsicle.....learned that lesson!!!! THanks for all your posts everyone it helps so much!! I am having a hard time with one thing.....food...I miss it...I've heard people talk about it but I never gave it much thought...I acctually cried last night when the 3rd comcercial for pizza came on during American Idiol!!! Really do they need that many food commercials? We get the point!!!!! But like my hubby said I can have it again just smaller portions!!! THats what I needed, help with smaller portions!!!! Anyway, today is a good day!!!! I'm going to my sons pre school today, they are having the kids bring a nail polish in and there moms have to bring a tea cup.....I think they are serving us tea (good I can have that !!!) and the kids are painting our fingers...cute huh? Good thing I have some light colors!!! :thumbsup: Reggie...your so close....girl I am not going to sugar coated it, its tough....but I have a pretty good feeling we are tough group of women.....everyone is right each day gets better!!!!!!

Hey ladies!!!! Ok, day of surgery piece of cake.....everyone was so nice!!! I was scared and thought about running out a few times but honestly it all went so fast.....they took me back 06:30,then they were taking back to the OR at about 08:15, when I woke up I looked at the clock and it was 09:40...amazing!!!!! So then yesterday I was really regreating my decision!!! I was in so much pain!!! I didn't sleep a wink from the pain no matter how much meds I took....at about 10pm I fell asleep last night then woke up around 1AM went to the restroom and felt so dizzy I thought for sure I was going down...I was clammy and felt horrible....took all my clothes off and sat under the fan....hubby got me some meds I drank that then had a sugar free popcicle....felt better then all the sudden I start having stomach spasims like I was going to throw up!!! THose passed I fell back to sleep and acctually woke up this am feeling better...... Its a little hard because I am not a home body so sitting at home has been a little tough. I also started stage 2 today...just the Clear liquids I think were part of why I was not feeling well. I talked to Christie today and she reminded me it gets better....my left side (I'm assuming the port) is the worst part now....and my back hurts more than I expected.... Anyway, I guess I'm glad I am past the surgery part.....just waiting for my sun ray!!!! :thumbup: Oh...and I started my period today...what the hell!!! 5 days early I might add and I'm an every 28 day girl usually!!!! RUDE!!! Did anyone have a really bloated tummy at this point? My stomach is really bloated.....I have lost weight though!!! Day of surgery I was 223, left surgery and of course weighed myself I was 225...today I was 220..... Hope you all are doing well!!!!!! I miss chatting on here.... By the way Tina Liz told me and my husband that once you had the surgery with Kaiser even if we lost our Kaiser ins I would be covered for that portion of my health for life

Thanks girl!!!!! Ok.......This milk of magcrap has done nothing but make me nauseas......and I dont understand why we even have to take it so early the morning before surgery.....whatever!!! Ok well we are heading out...dropping the kids of my parents and headed to Emeryville!!!!!Pray for me!!!! I know it will be good... Thanks for all of your support......don'y know how I could have done this without all of you!!! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! See yah on the band side....

Thanks Tina....your right!!! It was funny last night we got subway and I got a diet soda....never been much of a soda drinker, here and there....but I told my hubby this is the last one for ever and you would have thought someone slapped me in the face.....he told me that was so normal because forever is a long time no matter what it is, but that the reward from not having so out ways the soda!! :thumbdown: I watched this thing on the internet last night on WLSchannel.com its called Melting Mama....I don't know if you have seen it, but the lady is so funny!!!! She had gastric bypass but she talks about all the changes you go through after weightloss surgery......if you haven't watched it check it out.....there is alot of stuff on that web sight that I found enteresting!!! I have also been thinking the last couple of days about the emotional part of it.....the attention that I will get and strange it will all be!!! My life is about to change in a major way!!! Hey Candra.....so happy to have you here!! This is an amazing group of women....in a short time I have made friends that I'm sure I will have for a life time!!!! So not only do you get all the ups and downs our journeys and how similiar they all are (yet so different :thumbdown:) but you get a great group of ladies!!!! Trust me I should know...I had my orientation on March 3rd and am having surgery on Monday...yah as in this Monday...Crazy huh!!!! Ask away though, anything I can help answer!!!!

Ok...guess what happened to me today?? I called to get my surgery time for Monday and the lady says "oh ok...you need to be here at 11:30" (Ithought that was a little strange, but whatever), then she tells me my co pay is 250...I thought well ok...they told us $20 on the phone, but whatever it is surgery, so I tell her thats strange they told me $20 and she goes "well you are spending the night".......My heart sank...i told her "umh no I'm not, I thought this was an in and out surgery, I'm having Lapband" she said oh well we have you down for gastric bypass.....umh NO!!!!!!! So anyway, she had to make some phone calls and I called and spoke to Sarah in the bariatric department and they got squard away. It's strange that is the second time that has happened to me where they thought I was having gastric bypass...but I never came into this for that...I knew I wanted lapband before I even asked for a referral!!! Anyway, I am 06"30 on Monday...she said I would be the very first patient!!!!! Yahoo!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Nicole...my ver first support group I went to was the one in Richmond....they have a great group of people....there were probably 30 people there...but all gastric bypass...1 lap band which was a man and he looked great....anyway they talked about how they still saw the same person...this one lady couldnt have weighed more than 135 pds west...she was very pettite and had obviously lost a lot of weight...anyway, she said that talking about helped and seeing pictures of herself really helped,,,,maybe have someone take pictures of you and then compare them with old ones...you know to really see the reality of it!!! :thumbup:

Oh my gosh....so much fun today!!! I really needed that!!!! Missed you Riley and Reggie...but we will get together again soon I hope!!! Tina it was so good to meet you today...you look soamazing and I ment to tell you your hair still TOTALLY CUTE!!! I don't know you very well (yet but it very flattering!!! Donna I really enjoyed our chats and I'm so glad you finally got to meet my hubby!!!! Oh and Nicole seriously......no really seriously.....YOU LOOK AMAZING!!! I emt you the first time a few days before your surgery....I could hardly recognize you!!! I'm feeling so excited about monday now!!!! I know there will be some down hill moments but it really helps knowing that everyone goes through the same things!!!! Hey Ladies...... Reggie....Yay!!!! You are rockin!!!! Congrats!!! Ok...so less than a week.....picked up my anti vomit pills for the night before and the morning off..... I can't lie I know you all have heard me say this before but I'm so scared.....and than excited...scared ...excited.....I'm going crazy.....Today I felt the fear of regret...what if I regret it....but how could I...see I'm crazy!!!! :drool: All of you guys are doing so well....it really does help reading all of your posts!!!! I'm really looking forward to Thurs I think its just what I need!!!! I have been having a hard time sticking to the pre op diet all of the sudden too.....Tomorrows a new day...I just obviously cant afford to gain any weight...

Christine...that is so cute that Sophie named her bear Candy...she is too cute!!!! I had a great birthday....but of course I ate to much...I'm telling you those group settings are hard!! So a week till surgery.............I'm getting supper scared....last week I was so excited thinking of all the great things I will be able to do and then today like a tone of rocks the fear really hit!!! I will get through it!!! Noon sounds great for me because I will need to be back in Elk Grove aroud 3:15 whne my son gets out of school!!! But let me know if that works for everyone!! Hey ladies!!! I will be there Thursday also....the one in Natomas right? What time? The 2 appt I had with Dr. Baggswere both at Pinole....infact the first time I saw him they said it was his first day there and that was in March.....Then I saw him there about 2weeks ago...I think he is only there like once a week or something though. Its really not set up for him, its in the family practice side, but it works. I guess he really doesn't need much to do his appt there... Anyway, had a great meeting today at kaiser....missed the rest of you guys, but can't wait till Thursday.. Have a great night

Ok...so I had to change my ticker...as of today I am down exactly 20 pds...I started the pre op diet March 6....so not even 2months......Yah hoo!!!!!
