  1. Please see post below for the beginning of this post.

After about 3 weeks of fun behind my boyfriends back, he caught me, (for a 2nd time) and of course, caught me off guard so I decided to end the relationship with him by telling him that I fell out of love with him awhile ago, even though it really came down to the excitement of someone else finding me attractive and going behind his back to have sex while still in a committed relationship.

  2. Now that I have finally lost a lot of weight, I've decided to take my newly found self-confidence and cheat on my boyfriend of 11+ years. He was working nights and I was alone and, well you know, not being taken care of sexually. I decided to try an adult web site and wouldn't you know, men are finding me attractive (not unlike my boyfriend, who has been there for me and supported me all these years) and wanting me, again not unlike my boyfriend, but I said ok to meeting someone and once I did, I knew right away that I would be sleeping with this new guy ( and did after having 1 drink at the bar) even before deciding to end my current relationship. Continued...

  3. Help! I am about 3 weeks post band, I have been eating soft foods mostly, but I admit I have cheated a couple of times. I have not been nauseated at all after anything I have eaten, but for the past few days I am getting sharp pains on the right of my belly button every time I eat. This happens even on the first bite, so I know it's not because I am full. I think my port is right where I am getting these pains. Anyone else have this problem?

    Pain whenever I eat....

Texas, I had the same thing happen. I just talked with the surgeon yesterday, and she said that this is normal when transitioning into other foods as you have to get used to pushing them down. She said you will definitely know if the band has slipped as you will probably not be able to eat at all and be nauseated constantly. If your not vommitting and you can eat, I wouldn't worry until you can ask them yourself. Hope this help

    Stomach pain

I had my band 3 weeks ago and still have pain. It's different for everyone. My doctor told me my body is actually going through another 3 weeks of healing, so don't worry if it takes longer than 2 weeks.

    Pain whenever I eat....

Doc said I shouldn't worry about it. He said as long as I can get food down and am not vomitting then it's just healing pains. Hope he's right.

    Pain whenever I eat....

Thanks everyone. I actually have my first follow up appointment this afternoon, and I will tell my surgeon whats going on. I'll let ya know.
  8. I don't know if I can give you encouragement, but I am definitely in the same boat! I had my surgery last Wednesday and am still pretty much bed ridden, and STARVING! I have been laying in bed watching movies and TV and every time I see food it drives me crazy. I have no energy from sipping on all these fluids and don't know what to do about it. I don't know how my body can heal with no nutrients. I just keep thinking about 2 more days until I can have a protein shake or yogurt, and that sounds like a treat:tongue2: Hang in there, this is the worst part. You have to prepare yourself for a couple months of these feelings, but from what I've read they will hopefully go away. You have no reason to feel bad about it and you have not failed. It's part of the process.
  9. Does anyone like to drink like I do? I enjoy red wine throughoughly and often and I am getting banded next week. How does moderate drinking effect you when banded? Anyone know from experience?

    My love affair with wine.

Wonderful! I feel better already. Thanks everyone. I am definitely used to using part of my extra calories for vino.

    My love affair with wine.

Thanks for the advice workingmom. I have been dealing with giving it up for a bit, but I was hoping I could work it back into my lifestyle in small amounts. Although it may not be so enjoyable without pairing it with food. Oh well, I'm sure it will all be worth it someday.
  12. My date is set for May 19th. I still can't believe it's actually hapening. I hope it all goes well; I've never had surgery before or been in the hospital. Congrats to everyone else!

    UPMC PA; need advice

 Help, I need some advice. I have UPMC insurance, and have been seeing doctor's at UPMC hospital in Pittsburgh PA. Unfortunately UPMC insurance is very strict, and does not cover any band surgery unless a BMI over 40, even with comorbidities. The one exception, which my doctor told me, was sleep apnea, which I have, although it was diagnosed 2 years ago. I am going through the 6 months of Dr. dieting, and my last appointment is next Friday. My problem is, I lost 10 pounds and gained it back within the 6 months. I have not gained any more than I weighed in the first place, but I've read people get denied for gaining weight during their 6 months. Does anyone have any advice? Could they deny me even though I stayed under my original weight? Anyone have UPMC info? Thanks!!:tt2:

    UPMC PA; need advice

Hi, YES! I got the call yesterday afternoon that I got approved. I still can't believe it, it hasn't hit me yet. They said the surgeon would be calling shortly to schedule the date, and it would be sometime in May. How about you, did you get your date?
  15. I believe that the physician guided weight loss may have to be within 12 months of trying to get surgery, and be for 6 consecutive months. Did you're insurance company specify this? If you have been in a weight loss program that is guided by nutritionists who monitor your weight every month and document it, then that may work. Do you have a surgery center or surgeon? They should be able to help.

Well good luck, I hope everything works out for you. I should be submitting all of my paperwork next week, so we'll see.

Thanks for the info. I am going through Maggee. How much longer do you have to wait for your surgery? Where are you getting it at?

Approved!!!! 48 hrs. BCBS, Low BMI

That's awesome! I have my last appointment with my doctor for the 6 months next Friday, and then they will send everything in to UPMC (my insurance). I am also in Pittsburgh going to Maggee as well. I am really anxious though because my BMI is also between 35-40 and they said that UPMC insurance is really strict. I will be so upset if I'm denied! Anyway, glad it worked for you. Let me know how the op goes.
  19. I just had my upper GI for pre-op, and they found a small hiatal hernia. I called the doc's office to see if that was an issue and they said it wouldn't be if it was small, but they do not fix them with the surgery. Anyone had the band without getting their HH fixed? Any problems? I was really hoping my heartburn would go away but now I'm worried it will get worse. Thanks for any advice

    Getting band with hiatal hernia

Thank you for the replies. I actually spoke to a nurse at my surgeons office who told me that they don't fix them. After reading all the posts it seems like it would be a common thing that would be repaired, so I will ask the surgeon herself the next time I see her. I would be so happy to be getting rid of all my heartburn too!
